Not even as heavy some were a bit smaller but still… I use to try and help him and give him advice but I stopped after a while. Don’t worry we give him shit all the time lol probably doesn’t help him but that’s what friends are for… right? 🤣

Yeah he’s been in both situations. The women weren’t ugly but not conventionally pretty. He’s always friend zoned by the girls that are “his type”

I have a friend in this boat. Never had a GF. Only had paid sex. He is 25-26, moved back in with his parents. He’s a only child (nothing wrong with OC but in his case he can be self centered). He’s funny, kind, has a job, and is a handyman but he is over weight, about 5’8”, and has ridiculously high set of standards for who he wants as a partner. He wants a very thin and tiny Asian woman. He’s turned down potential women who were interested because they were also a bit overweight (not bigger tha…

I think this can be true. Women have the ability to grow attraction. From the men I’ve spoken too it seems that most or some men have to be attracted to their SO initially for it to work. One thing I’ve heard is this: a marriage will work in 2 scenarios 1. The man and woman are in love with each other 2. The man is in love with the woman It’s more difficult to continue a marriage if the man is out of love with the woman. HOWEVER this theory came from a feminist so I could be way off! Looking for…

“However, that is an issue with society at large, not the fault of any particular gender / group.” EXACTLY! I 100% agree with what you’re saying. The more the narrative that one gender is worse than the other gets pushed the further we get from equality and respect for one another.

As a woman I would have to disagree.. I think that a woman would be taken more seriously if she said she was raped. However his the partner seems very insecure in the relationship and doesn’t seem to take rape very seriously. I think your right that woman have also been put down when they say they’ve been assaulted as well. Regardless of gender any assault should be taken seriously. Unfortunately, it seems that men are taken less serious when it comes to sexual assault which is absolutely trauma…

This is the first comment I’ve seen in this group that points out that the partner is shitty. Im so tired of seeing generalized statements about one gender. Like there’s shitty women, men and non binary people. With that being said, I do feel like if the gender roles were swapped in this case, I think the woman would have much more sympathy. I feel so terrible for this man for what he is going through and how he was met with shame rather than sympathy and a listening ear and even help to press c…

Hmm interesting. People cry regardless of gender. I think the statement would be better perceived as it’s okay for anyone to cry? From my personal experience I’ve seen that men are taught to be stoic, to “suck it up”, or to tough it out, especially as a child. So I think when people say it’s okay to cry, it means that people understand that men were not allowed to show their emotions which causes men’s mental health to be downplayed. I don’t think women or men should be looked at as fixing. Peop…

Can you elaborate more when you say this “It's always a red flag for me when people say they're helping men and the first thing they say is 'it's ok to cry'. It smacks of the broken woman syndrome.” I’d like to understand better. Also what is broken woman syndrome?

I see so many comments about men saying women won’t let men talk without mocking or belittling them, however you don’t mention what your stance is or what it is that you feel like your being belittled over. What is the review of this movie that is being mocked? What do you mean by can men just have one thing? And how do women already have EVERYTHING? I need more context

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
