Are you just talking about sex?

multiple studies show that women believe roughly 85% of the men they view on the apps are average or below average attractiveness wise When I see studies about men’s ratings about women’s attractiveness, I interpret them as “would I fuck this woman?” Most guys would fuck most women, and have an orgasm doing it. When I read studies of women rating mens attractiveness ONLINE, I interpret them as ratings of men’s PROFILES, not limited to physical attractiveness. A large number of men’s profiles do …

So, you didn’t preserve yourself? Like, are you dead?

It sounds like you equate masculinity with a lack of social skills? People tell joke they think other people will enjoy because that’s what jokes are for. People don’t talk about their sexual desires with everyone (like coworkers, acquaintances), because it’s an inappropriate overshare.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/12/23 05:57 PM

It seems like you are equating effort with head games? Of course people in healthy relationships put in effort.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/12/23 05:05 PM

The same reasons anyone would choose to be single/date casually for a certain time in their life.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/12/23 08:01 PM

Depends what “expect” means. It it just means that someone is only interested in dating people that pay for dates, then no. There are plenty of gay people who want to pay on dates and plenty of gay people who want to be paid for on dates. A preferred role in romantic relationships in not necessarily a gendered role. Wanting a certain type of partner doesn’t become a sexist act just because you have certain genitals/gender expression.

Is it okay for women to lie about being on birth control? About STDs?

I assumed you referenced the definition of extrapolate because you still think that’s what you mean? If you don’t know what you mean, you can’t expect me to.
/r/PurplePillDebate14/12/23 04:53 PM

That you don’t know what extrapolate means? I think that because you keep using it incorrectly in a situation where there is no data to extrapolate from. It’s like telling something to drink when they don’t have a beverage.

And yet, you’re unable to reference “the stats.”

One of the top reasons for divorce being financial reasons just means the man didn't make enough That is a bizarre and baseless assumption.

How serious were the relationships?

essentially believe the economic world is completely rigged against them, which is basically what incels seem to believe about the dating world There’s a massive difference between a system having unequal or even unfair outcomes, and a system being “rigged” against people. Imagine a short person wanting to play basketball and but not being selected for a team. Now imagine a person not being picked for a team because the coach took a bribe to pick someone else. Those are not the same situations.

How many serious relationships have you been in, and were they with people you knew before or strangers (from apps, etc)?

I personally think that sleeping with your professor for grades is absolute lowest of the low level behavior Given that you’re not concerned about a man using his professional leverage to have sex with women who he has authority over… This post is a perfect example of men’s immorality being ignored.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/23 10:17 PM

Then how is your current life relevant??
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/23 10:06 PM

Sorry, you’re saying women would get what they want because they’d be indoctrinated to think more casual sex was the norm? Men get fully satisfied by getting what they actually want, and women would be “fully satisfied” by being told to want what they get? Yikes.

YOU have a lot of free time, therefore WE aren’t running out of time? Excuse me?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/23 09:14 PM

this really stems from a scarcity mindset. Time is only really that crucial if you are late and are also in scarcity of something. for my advice to work the situation would have to be something very post scarcity There is no post-scarcity for time. We’re mortal. We’re all going to die. My time is scarce. My boyfriend’s time is scarce. It always will be.

Yep, that’s where I said almost no one buys a house with someone they’re not in a romantic relationship with. Why did you think that meant no one buys houses?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/23 11:21 AM

The only way both men and women can both be fully satisfied How are women “fully” satisfied in this scenario? It sounds like men get everything they want. Women just get less risk, and the expectation they’ll do things they don’t want to.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/23 11:07 AM

What about roommates? How is that relevant? Not every couple is buying a house and having kids together. And therefore…?

You act like time has no value. I could go out and get a second job to make money to give that money to strangers who approach me on the street. The same reasons I don’t are the reasons I’m not going to have sex with people I don’t want to have sex with. Even though it makes them feel good. And I don’t want my boyfriend to get a second job either, because I don’t want him to spend less time with me. And I don’t want either of us raising other peoples’ kids. Tell us you’ve never had a FWB or never had a romantic relationship without telling us you’ve never had a FWB or a romantic relationship… I agree with you that platonic relationships are undervalued. But there’s a reason that almost no one ever buys a house or decides to raise a kid with someone they don’t have a romantic connection to.

OLD was simply a response to people staying home more I think OLD was originally a way to find more compatible matches than the folks you might run into naturally. OKCupid had so many quizzes to help you find a particular kind of match. But as more people joined, for the reasons you reference, it became more of a meat market.

The happiest couples married young and stayed together. Don’t most people who get married under 25 get divorced??

Before when he was actively and intentionally hiding that he was interested in her and not flirting?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/11/23 10:16 PM

But you say that when the man actually expresses his interest, that she turns him down. That is the opposite of stringing someone along.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/11/23 10:09 PM
7

That’s what you just described: Men acting like a friend and not flirting, or expressing any romantic or sexual interest.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/11/23 09:48 PM
11

If you’re pretending to be someone’s friend, you’re stringing yourself along.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/11/23 09:39 PM
3

Men also shouldn't be shamed if they want to capitalize and string along 30+ women for relationships because let's face it, those same women were doing the same thing in their 20s to men. Who are women stringing along in their 20s?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/11/23 07:07 PM

What does this have to do with women “understanding” men’s experience? How does this relate to the post?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/11/23 07:11 AM

Breaking up with someone who wants a paternity test =/= being against paternity testing. I’m for paternity tests the same way I’m for children support payments. Sounds like a great way to manage liabilities between two people who aren’t partners. If you think women who break up because of paternity testing demands are manipulative cheaters… you should want to break up too! You shouldn’t want them to have your kids in the first place!
/r/PurplePillDebate16/11/23 06:18 AM

Do you find it hard to shut down or ignore unsolicited advice? Most of the advice I see women give men is explicitly solicited. Post after post on dating subs of men asking women for advice.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/11/23 06:06 AM
12

But why do men need women to understand? Doesn’t 50% of the population understand “the problem?” Why isn’t that enough?

So what?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/11/23 09:37 PM

Plus, I see girls love taking photos around all the time. What is your point here? Do you believe that all women are the same? If you see some girls taking selfies, it can’t be true that a lot of women don’t enjoy it?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/11/23 09:31 PM
6

A lot women don’t enjoy it either. But it does show a lot about personality- that you’re willing to put in effort and communicate, even when it doesn’t come naturally.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/11/23 09:18 PM
1

As opposed to what? Letting her think you want to be friends when you don’t?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/11/23 07:49 PM

being humble is generally the action of a good and kind person. Being humble is not an action at all, much less an act of kindness.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/11/23 06:26 PM

Misrepresentation is wrong, but you can get divorced. A woman can’t un-birth a kid.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/11/23 03:23 PM

And many women would choose not to have children in a relationship without trust. If you’re suspicious of your partner, giver her a chance to leave before having your kid.

It’s not decided by the woman either.

aggressive unhinged men and more often than not they’re showing that aggression towards women Towards women instead of men? Why would you think that? Men are much more likely to be assaulted.

The vast majority of this post has nothing to do with love. This is the only part that’s relevant: In relationships,Men aren’t loved they are only loved for what they can give . But the only “proof” you have is that you’re “pretty sure” women wouldn’t help a partner in an attack?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 10:36 PM

I'm just questioning whether illegality is good or bad for women. Depends on the woman, obviously. An only wife benefits from inheritance not being split.

Caring about the environment is caring about humanity and kids.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 08:20 PM

Most couples who meet "online" aren't necessarily using "dating apps". Are you saying it’s a fact that they aren’t? Or just that it might be a fact?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 07:29 PM
1

Why is he partnered with a manipulative woman? Why is he having kids with a manipulative woman?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 07:27 PM
12

If you want your partner to be more committed to you, propose. It’s completely illogical to expect someone you’re just dating to treat you like someone they’ve made a huge commitment to. Anyone who is seriously commitment-minded is dating to decide whether to make a commitment, not to act like they already have.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 05:00 PM
1

But in all cases, telling someone you need risk-mitigation because they are untrustworthy now is completely different than awareness that they may become untrustworthy in the future. If someone tells me they have a go-bag because I might hit them today, we should break up today. If someone tells me they need a paternity tests because they think I’m lying today, we should break up today.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 03:12 PM
1

Telling someone who is risking their life to have your kid that your relationship is not solid is not the same as asking for a prenup.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 03:01 PM
3

What does that have to do with this conversation?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 02:56 PM
2

You don’t understand the difference between currently thinking your partner is mentally ill (but still having a kid with them) and understanding there’s a chance they may become mentally ill?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 02:55 PM
3

Obviously. What is your point?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 02:53 PM
5

Let’s be real here, the paternity test thing isn’t about medical disorders for the guys who argue for it here on this sub. You’re not understanding this conversation.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 02:51 PM
8

I know people who have been upstanding and trustworthy their entire life, then developed Bipolar disorder. There is every reason to be prepared for the worst in your partner, regardless of their past or current behavior. No one should “trust” another person not to develop a medical disorder. That’s not a personal failing.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 02:44 PM
12

These are completely different issues. Prenups and go-bags are to prepare for the chance that someone might become a risk in the future. This is not personal. Most adults know a relative or acquaintance who developed a serious mental illness that presented a threat to their family. There are many factors that could lead even the best person to become unstable, through no fault of their own. Paternity tests are to cope with the fact that you think your partner is untrustworthy NOW, and was likely…
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 02:35 PM

A lot of relationships start online. So, a lot of men and women find partners online and commit to them. But then they are no longer online. The men and women online most often are people who explicitly do not want to commit, or think they want to commit (but actually do not). When you log on, this is mostly who you see. People who only want to get serious with people who do not want to get serious… aren’t actually interested in getting serious. Online dating is full of avoidant people, because …
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 07:50 AM
10

Lolololol… you’re saying that people should have kids as a self-harm prevention mechanism, and calling that prioritizing someone else. You are describing incredibly self-centered and selfish behavior, and pretending it’s a sacrifice. Give me a fucking break. Kids aren’t a living stress ball for your desk.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 03:14 AM
14

What? You are saying that parents put up with more misery and bullshit because they are desperate to feed their kids… But also that single people are more miserable because they put up with less bullshit because they’re not desperate to feed their kids? How does this make even the smallest amount of sense.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 03:03 AM
5

Historically it did work out for women though Why do you believe this.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 02:52 AM
17

If you have kids, you’re more likely to accept the bullshit and put up with the misery life often throws at you WHY. IS. THAT. GOOD. You keep saying the same thing over and over again. Yes, we agree that parents put up with more bullshit and misery than people living just for themselves. Tell me why that’s a good thing. Why is that an argument for having kids.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 02:48 AM
20

And I’m asking you why that is a good thing. Why is it a good thing that people put up with abusive employers or work harder to potentially make the world a worse place?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 01:18 AM
7

And you don’t care about human rights.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 01:14 AM

Whoa, you aren’t sure whether restricting participation in the political process by age is a violation of human rights, but you are sure that restricting access to alcohol is? How does that make sense?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 01:09 AM
14

Is it a violation of human rights to not be able to drink until 21 or run for president until 35?
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 01:03 AM
15

People talk about how terrible it is to have kids, but I can speak from experience that the people who do have kids work a hell of a lot harder and have a reason to actually put up with their job. Why are you framing this as an absolute good? If I’m working harder in an industry that wreaks environmental destruction, is that a good outcome of me having kids? If I’m putting up with unsafe working conditions, is that a good outcome of me having kids?

What is the point of rating someone if you are attracted to their gender?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/11/23 03:20 AM

How does that answer the question? If true, it may be a reason for women not to care about other women’s opinions. It’s not a reason for women not to have their own opinions of people.
/r/PurplePillDebate11/11/23 11:03 PM

For men to take it into account how?? You think a man is going to think a woman is great for the “wrong” reasons unless you point it out to him? You need to remind men what they’re attracted to?

blame also to men instead of showing a little kindness or empathy. Show HOW? If this post is about the thoughts in women’s heads- why? If this post is about the ACTIONS you want to see women take, SAY WHAT THEY ARE.

And there are ample warnings that women leave men and file for alimony and custody of children. It’s common knowledge. If women are at fault for ignoring warnings… So if women have been warned so many times not to gamble yet they still do and lose, isn't it just their fault if they end up as single Why aren’t men to blame if they gamble and lose?

Right, but if a man physically abuses his wife, he could have prevent that failed marriage in TWO ways: Not getting married Not abusing his wife So why is your post about blaming women for failed marriages?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/11/23 02:25 PM

But the marriages failed whether he gets physically abused or not, whether he’s financially impacted or not.

Can’t men prevent failed marriages the same way? Why aren’t men and women equally responsible for getting married?

I’m primarily involved in volunteer and professional organizations. But other friends met their partners in running clubs, clubs that organize bike rides, at jiu-jitsu, and on ultimate frisbee teams. Even though I’m not in any of those groups, I’ve socialized with them enough to get to know some folks through my friends.

/r/PurplePillDebate08/11/23 07:29 PM

But you think she would have been honest about her weight?
/r/PurplePillDebate08/11/23 06:33 PM

No. If you can’t look at someone’s photos and tell if their body size is acceptable to you, weight isn’t going to help you. Height is a static measurement that you can’t see from photos.

If someone I didn’t know asked me out while I was at a bar I’d consider if I liked them. But I don’t like them. I don’t like them because I know absolutely nothing about them other than their physical appearance. So by this method, I would say no 100%, which is what I actually do. isn’t this basically a cold approach required at some point Again, speaking to a stranger about a shared interest is not a cold approach for dating, because the ask doesn’t happen the first time. If I’m at a gallery op…

For the first paragraph, it sounds like you’re looking for an explanation of how people can speak to anyone about anything other than dating? As an example: I joined a local volunteer organization. I offered to help with board activities. I met a lot of strangers because we were all working on something together. I saw them repeatedly, because we all went to the same meetings. If anyone had asked me out, I would have considered it. It would not have been a cold approach. People see acquaintances…

There’s a difference between cold approaching a stranger for a date, and meeting a stranger through shared interests or friends, then running into them repeatedly until they become an acquaintance.

How is this an answer to my question?

Why childless people? Let’s think of two examples: Person A: Childless, saved a significant amount for retirement, continues to contribute towards taxes and the economy. Person B: Penniless, has one child who goes to prison, has a second child who becomes a drug addict. Why would Person A be the one you send away?

I feel like this must just be a misunderstanding based on geography and lifestyle. A lot of people still leave the house and participate in all kinds of social events. They’re part of clubs and organizations where they meet people and keep interacting with them. They meet friends at the bar where they are introduced to friends of friends. There are SO many ways to meet people that don’t involve a cold approach.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/11/23 11:34 PM

If you can’t be bothered to engage in the discussion you started, I certainly can’t be.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/11/23 10:43 PM

So why do you keep defining empathy as words and actions? Worse if being empathetic towards others is your default (with words or by action) it becomes the bare minimum they expect from you Why do you characterize acting “fairly” as “getting fucked over?”
/r/PurplePillDebate06/11/23 09:38 PM

Approaching a interaction in good faith assumes that this person will treat you fairly and so you must treat them fairly too. That’s not empathy. None of this is empathy. What do you actually think empathy means?
/r/PurplePillDebate06/11/23 09:30 PM

How in the world do you think this plays out in real life?? You imagine that the other person wants to fuck you over, so you let them fuck you over? You think that’s what empathy means?

Teens are having less sex than grandpas in puritan times Because teens used to get married. even when open sexuality is praised and welcomed Sexuality = having sex. Boundaries and consent are praised and welcomed by many too.

This isn’t about online dating vs. meeting people offline. This is about dating strangers vs. people you have already gotten to know. If you meet a stranger offline, you deal with all the same issues- randomness, limited information, high pressure on early interactions. Dating strangers is not for everyone.

What in the world are you talking about? If I’m fixing the garbage disposal, I test the garbage disposal to see if I fixed it. I don’t throw a whole bunch of food down the drain before I know if my fix worked. If you’re doing something to improve someone else’s well-being, the most logical thing in the world is to CHECK AND SEE IF IT’S WORKING. Assuming that you fixed a problem without evidence is emotional, not logical.

I trust the neighborhood kid who waters my plants “with many other things” too. That’s not what marriage is about. but asymmetry of info means this will always be uncertain. Trust is certainly an issue. If a pregnant woman is unconscious and being rushed into emergency surgery, her husband is making life or death decisions about her. She’s trusted her husband enough to risk her life and health by getting pregnant. It’s reasonable to only want to trust someone with your life if they trust you.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/10/23 07:00 PM

It’s totally reasonable to say, “I’ll never trust a woman not to cheat on me and trick me into raising someone else’s child.” It’s also reasonable for women not to have a kid with anyone who feels that way.

If a woman believes that asking for a paternity test is an accusation of cheating, then the same women should never propose to a man a date in public considering it is incredibly rude to accused someone of being a sex offender/rapist. The idea is that you don’t trust a stranger until you get to know them and build trust. You’re equating trusting a stranger with trusting a wife, implying that a man has proposed and impregnated a woman even though they have not built any trust.

I don’t find men very interesting overall. So why would this advice be relevant to women who like men?
/r/PurplePillDebate07/10/23 11:21 AM

I’ve tried causally dating men who I knew nothing about first and I found those men are far more insufferable, boring and unlikeable. Er, so what? Obviously your friends are people you found likable and interesting… that’s how you became friends with them. Being friends with them is not what made them likable and interesting. If I said, “I’m looking for a massage therapist that’s likable and trustworthy.” No one would say, “you should only get massages by someone you’ve been friends with for yea…

I’m well aware that some people think dating is a competition, to the point that they’ll settle for terrible partners they don’t even like just to avoid feeling like a “loser” because they have no internal sense of self-worth. And I’m well aware they’ll call others losers to feel better about the choice they made.

You should probably ask people who use those terms in this context? As far as I can tell, those people typically do it because of personal issues with insecurities.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/10/23 01:20 AM
4

Eh, I don’t find this kind of framing is very useful. Asian men and black women are less popular on dating apps, but I don’t think that’s a reason to think they are “losers” if they don’t find a partner within a racist society. A lot of terrible people get married all the time. There are more marriages that I’d consider a living hell than marriages I’d consider prizes.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/10/23 12:50 AM

Because it’s not inherently a competition. There are people that choose to behave as if it’s a competition. It’s like jogging down a path. One person could decide they’re racing another person. But that’s not what makes it a race.

I’m not talking about my perception of fit. I wouldn’t even put any thought into who is a better fit for another person I liked. That’s his job. If I think a woman is terrible, but that’s who my crush feels is the best fit, best of luck to them.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/10/23 08:40 PM

If I like someone, but there’s another person they know who would be a better fit for them, I wouldn’t want to “win” the competition.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/10/23 08:35 PM

So how did you decide they’re having “such success,” as opposed to minimal success?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/10/23 07:34 PM

with such success? Meaning what? Are you looking at data about their success rate, out of who they message? The total number of women scammed? The total amount of money?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/10/23 06:50 PM

So you personally think this is “sabotage” or not? Again, I’m 100% genuinely confused at how anyone could describe any of this behavior as sabotage, which you seem to be doing?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/10/23 02:22 PM

I’m totally lost with this post. I’m not just responding to your bullet… but your title and first sentence. So, did YOU see women sabotage other women at the gym today or not? “My girlfriend thinks women sabotage each other” is totally different than “I saw women sabotage each other this morning.”
/r/PurplePillDebate02/10/23 02:14 PM

? I’m genuinely asking. I’ve spent a lot of time in the gym, and I’ve never seen a woman try to “sabotage” their “competition,” and don’t understand why wanting to work out in silence is being interpreted that way by you. Women are way more likely to spend their time with young kids and customer service roles, and way more likely to see their workout time as an escape from meeting other people’s needs, including emotional needs. Doing cardio without taking care of other people can be critical to…
/r/PurplePillDebate02/10/23 02:05 PM

So wanting to workout alone is “sabotage?” Don’t more women at the gym do cardio and things that don’t need spotting?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/10/23 01:52 PM

Wait, what in the world did you “observe” in the gym that showed any of this? What actual behavior did you see? Women feel threatened by their competition (more attractive, successful, feminine women) Women feel threatened by more successful women Women root against other women Women have close friendships, but generally don’t like to bring new women into their social circle Women in the workplace distance themselves from other women, or form shallow relationships but don’t favor one another

/r/PurplePillDebate29/09/23 01:31 AM

But literally the only reason I would say such a thing is with an intent to make men feel bad. Usually the reason people are “offended” by things like this is because they’re aware that someone is actively trying to insult/irritate them, which is the offensive part, not the content. If I ran around the office saying, “You’re all going to die!” I would get reported to HR, and not because anyone thought they were immortal.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/09/23 10:50 PM

But you just had an entire exchange acknowledging that overweight “unattractive” women can have sex, relationships, kids, etc… If you believe that… what is the thing she would learn that would stop her from “deflecting” or “blaming” men for? What would she “own up to?”
/r/PurplePillDebate28/09/23 09:52 PM

Every guy is doing that. So what?
/r/PurplePillDebate28/09/23 09:14 PM

Because there’s no reason to say any of these things other than to be antagonistic. I could scream, “most women would be more physically attracted to Ryan Gosling than the men they are actually dating and marrying” and it would be true. But in what context is that interesting or useful information? None. Well-adjusted people are gonna date and marry regardless of whether I tell them how hot Ryan Gosling is. It’s just not relevant.

Creepy behavior is escalating when there isn’t reciprocity. There’s less opportunity to have creepy behavior if others are usually reciprocating. But it’s still the behavior that makes it creepy. If Henry Cavill started mass texting sweet nothings to a straight dude without welcome, it would be creepy. If Henry Cavill started mass texted sweet nothings to a married woman without welcome, it would be creepy.

some women would make you think the average woman today is being harassed whenever she leaves her apartment. What zoomers do isn’t the deciding factor of whether women are harassed in public. Since I became a teenager, I’ve been harassed by men from their teens to their 80s. “Dirty old man” is a cliche for a reason. Young men could stop talking to women entirely, completely disappear off the planet, and young women will still experience harassment.

No, you have decided that sexually exclusivity is a super special unique thing that someone gets to randomly and unilaterally decide for another person without their agreement or consent, and then throw a fit when other people don’t live up to their imaginary rules. Going to college does not increase your chances of being sexually assaulted. Young women who do not go to college are sexually assaulted at the same (or slightly higher) rates than women in college. That doesn’t mean it isn’t a huge problem, just that staying away from campus doesn’t fix the problem. But also, the vast majority of women in college never set foot in a frat party, so that’s a weird thing to focus on. There are plenty of other ways to socialize.

If we assume that men don't love women as much, it goes against certain widely cited statistics on impact of breakups and divorces on men. There’s a huge difference between loving a person and hating a lack of access to sex and companionship. My ex-boyfriends who have been the most miserable after our breakups were often the ones who were the most unkind and uncaring during the relationship. Disliking being single is not a measure of having loved your ex.

The question is why has perfect checks all boxes become the standard? Don’t know where you’re getting that from. 75% of people get married by 40. More live with partners long-term. It’s not because they found perfection. Why are so many saying they'd rather be single than compromise at all? Might be the people you are around. Who is denying reality? Most adults understand that getting anything in life that checks all your boxes and makes you happy is almost impossibly rare. Whether it’s a spouse and coparent, a job, a place to live, literally anything. People choose between imperfect options constantly. Some are able to be grateful for what they have, and the fact that they were able to make a choice. This isn’t just about relationships and wasn’t different before the sexual revolution.

That is why they value their standards more important than being in a relationship. The problem is that being independently wealthy isn't a qualification for the CEO position. No one imagined otherwise. This is not a problem, much less a reason to be a sanitation worker when you don't need a paycheck. a…
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/23 03:16 PM

Where’s the conundrum? Everyone I know with high standards is well aware they may not find anyone to meet them.

you will see plenty of regular dudes with hotties That sounds like a fucked market.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/23 11:39 AM

Note that I am strictly speaking about women who want relationships here. Because you are oversimplifying the motivation. Wanting a relationship is like wanting a new job, when you’re independently wealthy. You’re not going to apply to be a sanitation worker. People with life experience know the difference between wanting any relationship, and wanting a relationship that makes your life better.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/08/23 11:34 AM

No idea what you are attempting to say here.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/08/23 03:48 PM

But you can’t tell that from a photo of a person…?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/08/23 02:32 PM
5

How? Women look vastly different at the same weight, depending on their height, muscle mass, and breast size.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/08/23 02:11 PM
5

Better understanding compared to what? If if your goal is to find someone who demonstrates the same values as you by going to the gym 5 days a week, why wouldn’t you ask that?? Someone who weighs 120 could never set foot in a gym, and someone who weighs 190 could be lifting weights every day.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/08/23 02:09 PM
2

Exactly. You saw this woman in person and knew her body type, but could not guess her weight within 25%.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/08/23 02:02 PM
2

Someone posts only face shots and you can't tell weight And two people can have the exact same weight, but different body types depending on their height, muscle mass, and boobs. Weight does not tell you the shape of their body.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/08/23 01:51 PM
4

Because many people meet online, and photos don’t always give context for height. If someone is only attracted to people of a certain height, asking prevents wasted time for both parties.

If a boundary is a genuine boundary, instead of an attempt at control and manipulation, it should be more about action than “expressing your feelings.” The reason these “boundaries” come across as “toxic,” is because they are statements of limits… but if it were actually your limit, you would have already left the relationship. If it’s against your boundaries to be in a relationship with someone who does x, y, and z… how did you start a relationship with someone who does x, y, and z? And why are…

It's kind of ironic, because these issues that men face don't seem to matter to society until it affects women, and then we have to address that so women aren't affected, but there's basically no care or thought given to the fact that men are being affected by these issues in the first place. Sorry, how is this issue being “addressed” so no women are affected? I have no idea what you’re talking about.

When some are starved for affection and attention, something that is not a good fit is often better than nothing at all. Exactly my point. That’s why I don’t initiate with men. I'm just pointing out that when you pick people, it's up to you to pick those who are a best fit for you, and if they're not, to break up and move on. Exactly what I have always done. But obviously it sometimes took me a while to figure out that someone wasn’t a good fit because they were only dating me out of desperation…

You kinda say this like it's easier for men to find a partner who is a good fit if they're the ones doing the asking. Which, if it was true, would make it even easier for you to pick the right one by asking men out. I’ve known a lot of men that say “yes” to invitations that aren’t a good fit for them. I don’t. It’s their lower standards when being asked that make asking more effective. Not the case for me. You're kind of pointing out that you are restricting your own agency here, both in picking…

I used to take more initiative, but the result was finding myself in relationships with men who did not really want to be with me especially in the long-term, but were too afraid of being single in the short-term to break up with me (or be fully transparent). Because it’s generally harder for men to access sex and relationships, they are more likely to be responsive even when they know it isn’t a good fit (because they are looking for a different kind of partner, lifestyle, etc).

I don’t need to believe in glow-ups. I’m a person in society, so I know people who already look the way people hope to look after a glow-up. And these hot people still get romantically rejected by friends. And those friends are still perfectly capable of dating, despite rejecting a hot friend! And your thought process is that every single person is capable of physically “glowing up” in a way that every single other person capable of dating will be sexually attracted to them? And I’m sincerely asking you why in the world you would believe that! What possible experience or observations would suggest that?? You don’t know a single person in a relationship who rejected a conventionally good-looking friend?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/23 12:52 AM

if you are good friends that’s already half the relationship equation Are your friendships and romantic relationships the same?? I still don’t understand. If someone rejects romantic partnership with someone they are not sexually attracted to, something is wrong with them? That’s your position? If one of your male friends asked you out, would you date them?

Then the only answer left if they still reject you later is it’s them, meaning your friend is terrible at dating/relationships. What?

If you lose skills of dating because you are partnered, that is another disadvantage. You should still be dating your exclusive partner, and you should still be making platonic friendships and other connections. A lot of skills built in long-term relationships and non-romantic social interactions are transferable to dating new people.

Wanting something in a partner =/= feeling entitled to it. There are plenty of people with demanding careers who prefer to date people who are less ambitious, because they have the flexibility to take on more unpaid work (household management, picking the kids up from school) or the flexibility to help the high earner enjoy their wages (can go on vacation with less notice/join for work travel). The niche dating portals, which have names like Snap-Date, Horny-Spot, SexDater, Discreet-Meets, Only-Flirts.com, PassionsLove, and BeeMyPair, funnel users into the system and usually include lengthy terms and conditions. This not relevant to my use of dating apps, nor is “what you’ve heard” about apps you’ve never used.

but I find it annoying how persistent people are at differentiating these relationships from romantic ones and how catching feelings is discouraged. How are you repeatedly finding yourself in situations where people feel the need to “persistently” say anything about their sexual relationships to you? I’ve been around a ton of people who have been in FWB arrangements, and this really never comes up. Do you bring it up?

Remember that relationship skills are not just romantic. Focus on your relationships with friends, family members, and coworkers. Improve communication. Set boundaries and keep them. Listen for boundaries and respect them. Express appreciation for people. Pay attention to relationships that always make you feel worse about yourself and discourage you from growth, decide how to manage or end them. Make small talk with strangers, develop genuine curiosity in people without any long-term expectatio…

How is this noteworthy. Men post here every day proclaiming they do not care about any aspect of women other than their looks and age- not their personality, not their interests or ambitions, not their ability to be a good partner.

I’d instantly lose all romantic interest and attraction in anyone who asked this question. Explain how it’s “psychotic” to not want to date someone?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/23 03:46 PM

men are looking for sexually attractive, height/weight proportionate, sexually available women who want to have sex with them Imagine being on a date and asking them “Are you sexually attractive to me?” “Are you fat?”
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/23 03:43 PM

Not bringing “anything to the table” for someone asking her questions in bad faith makes her undateable? That’s a weird take. (Also, she mentions her husband in the video)

It doesn’t sound like you actually want to discuss this post, so we can leave this here.

If you are presuming to speak about my friends, you are wrong. If you’re speaking about your friends, I’ll accept your assessment that they expect very little from you.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/23 10:23 AM

My friends certainly expect me to bring things to the table- reliability, commitments of time, empathy, etc.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/23 10:15 AM

The post isn’t about caring about things, it’s about asking a specific question.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/23 10:12 AM

Then I don’t understand your comment about friendship vs. romantic relationship. You don’t think it’s normal to ask questions of people you might want to be friends with?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/23 10:04 AM

What does that have to do with how you learn about someone? There are things that are important to me about potential friends, so I ask about those things. There are things that are important to me about potential romantic partners, so I ask about those things. It’s normal to want to get to know things about someone you’re considering bringing into your life. It’s not normal to demand their elevator speech about their personal brand.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/23 09:58 AM

I don’t understand what you mean. Dating IS the opportunity for a relationship to develop over time. I see people taking a lot longer to “become official” now than in recent history.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/23 09:32 AM

If you don’t care whether people understand you, just stop commenting.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/23 09:02 AM

/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/23 08:52 AM

What does that have to do with this post?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/23 08:43 AM

I guess I’m not getting your point. It’s normal to think someone is funny, and appreciate the joy they bring to your life. It’s not normal to ask someone, “Will I find you funny?”
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/23 08:05 AM

How does this relate to the comment you replied to?
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/23 07:57 AM

No man ever gets to show how loyal or emotionally available he is without already checking a requirements list. Do you have a history of getting into relationships with women who demonstrate absolutely zero positive qualities, and then giving them a chance to show loyalty over time? What does that even look like??
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/23 07:20 AM

Imagine meeting a new person at a party that you might consider being friends with, and asking them “what would you bring to the table as a friend?” Anyone who has ever successfully interacted with other humans in a non-transactional way knows this isn’t appropriate behavior. If you think something is important to know about another person, ask about the thing you care about (career, etc).

My post was about finding the one long successful relationship. Not finding a series of ones that fail. That’s weird, your post says it’s about men and women being happier, not being in a long-term relationship. Not everyone online is looking for what you’ve decided they should be looking for. Not every relationship ending is a “failure” for the relationship or anyone in it.

It turns out the group with more flavors to choose from were unhappier and regretted their choice than the group with less choices. EVERYONE in the group with more choices was less happy than EVERYONE in the group with fewer choices? I highly doubt that.

…do you not understand that HIV, herpes, and HPV are different things? Condoms do not stop men from getting herpes. A man who fucks other people can give his girlfriend herpes.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/05/23 10:29 PM
1

Condoms significantly reduce the risk of transmission of most STIs But an OnlyFans account of someone masturbating has zero risk of all STDs. And that’s why they’re not the same. Condoms don’t stop herpes. Condoms don’t stop HPV. Testing is limited or unreliable.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/05/23 10:22 PM
2

So you are that ignorant. It can take months for herpes or even an HIV infection to show up in a test. There’s literally no approved HPV test for men. What’s the plan here? The boyfriend wants to fuck a random lady, so he asks random lady to take an HIV test… then be CELIBATE for MONTHS just so she can fuck a guy with a girlfriend?? Then the boyfriend is CELIBATE for MONTHS till he’s sure he doesn’t have HIV before he fucks his girlfriend again? And then she can still get cancer-causing HPV from…

Having only casual partners implies a very lonely life lacking in companionship Having a committed romantic partner has never been the deciding factor in whether I am lonely or have companionship. I’ve been deliberately single for periods of my life, and had a ton of companionship with friends, family members, community. I’ve observed the same in a lot of other people, particularly women.

Even in 2002, most people were married by 30. “The probability of first marriage by age 30 is 74% for women and 61% for men.” Even then, a lot of the people “left” weren’t looking for serious relationships, much less necessarily succeeding at having them. So there just weren’t a ton of just over 30 people who could be called a boyfriend or girlfriend. Am I missing your point? It seems obvious that people who were not boyfriends wouldn’t be called boyfriends… Source for above: https://www.cdc.gov…

This can’t be simplified this way. A lot of guys who think they are “selfless” are actually manipulative. A lot of guys you might think of as “selfish” just have appropriate boundaries. Being mindlessly “selfless” with people you do not even have a relationship with is actually BAD! /r/PurplePillDebate30/03/23 01:00 AM
2

That’s what I’m proposing. They choose whether to support kids or not. Men have all the information to make an informed choice before pregnancy. You do not. After you get pregnant, you may find that a pregnancy may damage your health. You don’t have all the information until after you become pregnant.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/03/23 12:52 AM
2

Nature creates the imbalance. The pregnancy happens inside the woman.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/03/23 12:46 AM
3

I’m not speaking of “should” or of “conversations.” We’re discussing a legal proposal. If you don’t provide documented written notice to someone that you will not support any children that result from pregnancy, you should not be able to renounce responsibility after helping to create a pregnancy.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/03/23 12:41 AM
1

Why do you believe in non-marital maternity?
/r/PurplePillDebate30/03/23 12:35 AM
3

I’d support this if the information were shared before sex, so the woman could choose not to have sex and risk pregnancy with men who won’t support their children. It would not be fair for a woman to have to choose between medical procedures because of information withheld until after she becomes pregnant.

People emphasize a social life because it’s associated with social skills that are helpful in dating: ability to talk to different kinds of people, ability to understand and anticipate women’s concerns, etc. These skills are useful whether you’re actually dating people you’ve met through your social circle, or strangers. If your goal is to find a relationship, it’s a matter of luck whether you’ll meet someone through your social life or not.

Almost every single guy has a good amount of female friends What a bizarre thing to say. There’s so much research about men’s social circles shrinking. 15%+ of men have no close friends at all, of any gender. Many more have almost no friends.

I’ve had too many men behave aggressively towards me when I wasn’t receptive to their approach, so I’m on edge whenever I’m cold approached. The creepiness comes from the decision to escalate without reciprocity. If you’re trying to make eye contact, and they’re avoiding eye contact with you, it’s creepy to approach. Worse-looking guys are less likely to get eye contact returned, which makes it seem like his appearance is what makes it creepy- but it’s the behavior of escalating without reciprocity. If you start talking to someone, and they zero sign of being interested, continuing to talk and escalate is creepy. A worse-looking guy …

A lot of men confuse dating strangers with dating within social networks. A stranger will not give you the benefit of the doubt, because why would they? A stranger will want a greater reason to make the greater effort and take greater risk to interact with you. Someone you’ve met socially gets to interact with you without expending much effort and without taking much risk. Someone who gets to know you at no cost has more capacity to extend the benefit of the doubt.

But you are looking at employment patterns of people who contribute to society, and making conclusions about men who do not. Are men more likely to be utility workers? Yes. Does that make unemployed men more valuable? NO. Unemployed men don’t get credit for the jobs other men do. we often find men doing traditionally female jobs, such as nursing. The actual consequences of your actual actions are not a sentence! The actual consequence of getting pregnant is childbirth or abortion. The actual consequence of getting someone pregnant is a potential child to be accountable for. You’re creating an alternate universe where people aren’t accountable for the consequences of their behavior, but are handed down an unrelated punishment instead.

/r/PurplePillDebate09/03/23 11:30 PM

You are conflating the general with the specific. Wanting to get laid can manifest as a general interest in women. It doesn’t mean caring about women’s wellbeing, being kind to women, wanting getting to know women… It can just mean wanting to pump and dump women. That’s not the same as liking women.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/03/23 11:18 PM

I’ve considered guys to be “too nice” when they seem motivated to feel like they are nice instead of be kind or consistent with their supposed values. You say you don’t like chocolate, the guy sends you heart-shaped boxes of chocolate. He’s disappointed that you aren’t grateful. Because the impacts of being motivated by procreation are not the same as being motivated by procreation. You could say that people’s will to survive is a function of their motivation to procreate. But people will clearly choose to survive at the expense of procreation. Whether you’re a man in ancient China choosing to self-castrate to work in the palace, or a woman having a hysterectomy to prevent potential cancer return, people make choices that are not motivated by procreation.

Again, no. You are free to say “the top 20% had an average of ___ unique sexual partners in ___ time period.” But you are not free to divide that among a total of sexual partners from multiple groups, because the sexual partners ARE NOT UNIQUE. They are duplicative. That is flawed data analysis.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/03/23 01:57 AM
4

That is the opposite of what unique means in data analysis. So neither of these is true: The top 20% of young men are having 84% of the sex 84% of all unique female sexual partners were going to 20% of men.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/03/23 01:40 AM

Of course not. That’s why you can’t compare people you’ve chosen to have in your life to strangers you went on one bad date with. One group is vetted and selected. /r/PurplePillDebate25/02/23 11:56 PM

Yes, and those other roles are no longer gendered because people of both genders do and don’t do them. So no one is taking on the roles of another gender by doing them.

that role is no longer an exclusive male role. What is exclusively a female role?

/r/PurplePillDebate25/02/23 11:19 PM

And now everyone is expected to do dishes and laundry, so it’s no longer a female role. If I’m not taking on a male role by working for food and shelter, men aren’t taking on a female role by cleaning.

OK, so men used to hunt and maintain livestock to put food on the table. Then most men stopped doing that male task. They started working for money to “bring home the bacon,” paying others to do the task. Are you saying that men working to provide food for their family is not masculine? Providing for your family using money is not a traditionally male task?

Because working outside the home for money isn’t a traditionally male task?

traditional male tasks (fix the roof, change the oil in the car, chase burglars, ...) I know about the same percentage of men and women who do these things. But almost everyone I know pays people to do “traditionally male tasks.” I’m a woman who owns my own house. I paid people to replace the roof. My boyfriend would do the same thing at his house. We’d do the same thing if we moved in together. But there would still be dirty dishes.

I’m with you. If all men with “options” are assholes, it just means that all men are assholes at heart, but most can’t get away with acting on it or they’ll be lonely and sexless. Even if men are only assholes to women “below their league,” it speaks to their inherent lack of character. How you treat people reflects who you are, not how fat your date is.

That is not the same thing. Fine being single =/= not wanting a relationship. I can decide that I’m only willing to consider having a python as a pet. Maybe I live somewhere that prohibits having a python as a pet. That doesn’t mean I don’t want a pet. But it doesn’t mean I have to get a cat either. I can decide I’d rather be pet-less than have a cat. And people can decide to be single instead of lowering their standards. That’s not the same as not wanting a relationship with someone who does me…
/r/PurplePillDebate17/02/23 04:44 AM

Nope, it’s OK to have unattainable standards as long as you’re fine being single. No one is required to be in a relationship, so they are not required to have standards that can be met.

Escalating interactions without reciprocity. For example, you smile at someone. They don’t smile back and avoid eye contact. You move close to them anyway. They don’t acknowledge you. Almost any woman who wants to have a bunch of social media orbiters or random guys texting her can have it. Men are not saving their thirsting for super attractive women. Getting hit on by men is no great feat. Most people get married. Getting married to someone you didn’t like enough to date exclusively, much less marry, for years doesn’t seem like an accomplishment to me. It’s not just politeness, it’s privacy. No one else is entitled to know what I do and don’t find sexually attractive. That’s private information I can choose to share under the appropriate circumstances. When my coworker asks “How are you?” I don’t tell him the details of my period cramps. Not all information is for everyone. It’s not just politeness, but boundaries.

/r/PurplePillDebate09/02/23 07:39 AM

Why exercise them at some point? If he loves sex more than anything else and is forced by his body to be promiscuous, how and why would he ever not exercise his options? If you ever say no to sex you’d, your body isn’t forcing you to be promiscuous.

Which gender pays more child support? Whichever takes care of their kid less. Which gender receives more welfare for being single parent? Whichever takes care of their kid more.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/02/23 04:47 PM

I’m not aware of any jurisdiction that requires child support payments during pregnancy. After birth, women can walk out the door on their two legs just like men. Women who are not custodial parents are required to pay child support. The laws aren’t gendered.

And that's the beauty of my point! The point is no one other than the two individuals should pay for it! Are you forgetting that you said societal consequences for one of those people would be “equality?” Your post doesn’t advocate for “hands off.” That wasn’t your point. Your post advocates for social punishment of one gender for the consequences of mistakes made by both genders. That is not equality.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/23 04:48 AM
10

So what? It’s his choice whether to pay for his own fucking kid so I don’t have to. The existence of the child is not the issue here, the expense of the child is. Man: Impregnates a woman who doesn’t abort. Woman: Gets pregnant by a man who doesn’t support his kid. Each makes a “mistake” that could be solved by the other person, who could keep the mistake from increasing my taxes. Both failed. No reason for me to be more resentful of one than the other.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/02/23 04:35 AM
3

No connection to our exchange. Kids hypothetically having no societal value has zero impact on whether shaming one gender for a mistake of both genders is “equality.” “Pumping and dumping” is a selfish act that increases my tax burden! Speeding doesn’t have societal value. That doesn’t make it “equality” to only give traffic tickets to men.

How is wanting different things at different points in your life “backtracking” or “flip flopping” on your values? A person getting a job after college isn’t backtracking on valuing education. You deal with the lack of resources. He deals with the corporation/client/boss. So what? You made a false distinction between being “at the mercy of” a corporation/client/ boss and being at the mercy of a husband. If my husband’s boss can make ME homeless, I’m sure as shit at their mercy! Working means being at the mercy of the employment market. Relying on a working husband means being at the mercy of the employment market AND a husband.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/12/22 04:03 AM
5

Divorcing is easy. Division of assets is a pain. You may have a personal definition of divorce that is unique to you, and foreign to everyone else who lives on this planet. Of course. But you don't have to deal with them. If a corporation decides to fire my husband, the only wage earner in my family, I very much have to “deal with” it.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/12/22 03:49 AM

That wasn’t the comparison. Switching husbands means initiating and completing a DIVORCE AND MARRYING a new husband. For most of US history, women were not guaranteed the right to do the former at all. It isn’t exactly effortless now, especially if your ex isn’t cooperating. Most people can find a job with less effort. Regarding the rest of the comment, if working means being dependent on a corporation/boss/client, depending on someone working is still being dependent on a corporation/boss/clien…

People meet others alone such as for hookup situations all the time. If most women have only met <10 strangers for hookups in their entire lives, they have not done it “all the time” and have had much less exposure than with men they know. No but they meet more strangers in terms of numbers If you’re talking about all strangers, not the ones invited to a woman’s home, we’re back to pretending to be surprised that women aren’t raped in line at Starbucks.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/12/22 11:05 PM
9

Why do you believe that the average woman has had sex at home with more complete strangers than known male guests at her home? Let’s say the average woman has 10 total sexual partners (which is TWICE what CDC surveys suggest). Let’s say 8 of them were hookups at home with complete strangers. Why not! You’re truly saying that the average woman has not had EIGHT boyfriends, male friends, acquaintances, and male relatives in her home? Total, ever??
/r/PurplePillDebate26/12/22 10:55 PM

Women meet strangers all the time IN PUBLIC. Neither strangers nor people I know are sexually assaulting me in Starbucks.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/12/22 10:30 PM
37

This is massively stupid. You are more likely to be sexually assaulted by the people who have the opportunity to sexually assault you. People you know are more likely to be alone with you your home, in their home, in cars, etc. There is zero reason to believe that strangers would be less likely to assault you if you gave them the same amount of opportunity.

This is still a step away from the difference. Most sexual interactions are physically enjoyable for men. Men are more likely to have orgasms, and less likely to be in pain. What part of what i'm saying is wrong? YOU’VE CONTRADICTED EVERYTHING YOU’VE SAID. Half of it has to be wrong by default! 30 minutes ago: Women are never single. Now: More women will be over 30 and single/childless than ever before Just garbage.

Who hurt me? Dude, you make post after post about your abusive cheating ex-girlfriend and the escorts that don’t love you back. Now you’ve come here to have pity for the women who are having sex, relationships, and marriages with “higher value” people, according to you. You’re right about one thing, I’m definitely missing your “point.”
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/22 05:07 AM

You just said you “feel sorry” for average women because they can have sex with higher value men, but can’t date them… Then you said they do date higher value men, but only casually in situationships, and not seriously… But now you say they do seriously date and marry higher value men… My point is that your post is full of conflicting garbage.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/22 04:58 AM
11

OK? Again, when average women are in committed relationships, are they dating/marring up or not? You’ve told us they have sex up. You’ve told us they casually date up. Do they seriously date up?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/22 04:48 AM

You think committed relationships occur between equals? Women don’t marry up?

I’m confused. Which is it?? women like this because they are attractive enough that high value (good looking men) would have sex with them when horny but wouldn't date them or commit to them Average women can have sex with more attractive men, BUT CAN’T date them or get them to commit? girls like this usually date up and don't settle for less. it seems most men are dating down and most women dating up. Or average women can have sex with more attractive men AND CAN date them and get them to commi…

I never said they don't have to enjoy it or that all transactional sex is bad for women's pleasure. But you also didn’t say that women have to enjoy it or that it all has to be good for women’s pleasure. So if some transactional sex is not enjoyable or for pleasure, but is still good because it rewards worthy men, why can’t YOU do it?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/22 02:01 AM

And I’m asking about ONE of the things you talked about. Does fucking tall men make men better, as you claim, OR NOT? If so, HOW?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/22 01:55 AM
12

Explain it to me like I’m 5! If I’m having sex for pleasure, I’m looking for the sexual partner that I think will provide me with pleasure. If I’m having sex to reward someone, I’m looking for someone who deserves it, whether I’m into them or not. If you think it’s good for women to have sex they won’t enjoy, to motivate men, why not you??
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/22 01:48 AM
13

What does that have to do with gay men being worthy of being rewarded with sex? You think it’s good for women to have sex not because it’s the sex they want or feel pleasure from, but because a guy is worthy of receiving it. No man on earth has done enough to deserve sex from you if he wants it?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/22 01:44 AM
6

Again, HOW DOES FUCKING TALL MEN MOTIVATE MEN TO BE BETTER VERSIONS OF THEMSELVES?!?!

You think this is an answer to my question??
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/22 01:38 AM

Which men have are worthy enough for YOU to reward them with gay sex?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/22 01:37 AM

sex as a reward is actually a positive thing because it's a motivator for men to become the best version of themselves women only reward sex to those men who are worthy either because of their… height How in the world does “rewarding” tall men with sex make anyone a better version of themselves?? This is too stupid.

Women with fewer partners tend to have a lot more unprotected sex, because they’re not worried about STDs. If loads of cum is your concern, you should steer clear of women who have been monogamous.

Yeah, some places set up the software to look like that. But I’ve also sent mass rejections directly to hundreds of applicants at a time. It’s pretty funny when I get responses like yours. If an “older” man was established with property/responsibilities, he likely couldn’t meet a younger woman’s requirement to travel or be more flexible about moving to other places. If an “older” man wants to have kids soon, before chanc…

Absolutely not. I have a lot to say to people who are unlucky at dating. I have only one thing to say to people who say that dating (or anything else) doesn’t appeal to them. When someone says “this completely optional activity does not appeal to me,” there is literally only one rational response. “Playing tennis doesn’t appeal to me.” Cool, DON’T PLAY TENNIS. Not playing tennis is 100% the “magical solution” to not wanting to play tennis.

No, you don’t just want “closure,” you feel entitled to personal information from someone. You are convinced that it is “not a big deal” for someone to be emotionally intimate in a way they don’t want to be. That’s not just sadness at not getting what you want. You think you are owed, and you are not.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/12/22 03:17 AM

if some woman I dated month poured her heart out wanting to know what it was, I would just tell her. What does one person’s interest in emotional intimacy have to do with another person’s boundaries? She does NOT want to share intimate information with you, which is completely reasonable when we’re talking about two people who barely know each other and are not building a relationship. Your unilateral decision to be emotionally intimate has nothing to do with her!

Most women I noticed see guys as a dispensable thing. If you’re upset because you couldn’t express romantic feelings for someone you’ve never met, and hasn’t even responded to you, you probably don’t see individual women as all that special either.

the common saying is implying most men are shit. Are you saying “I’m cool with not being in a relationship” = “men are shit?” Because those are completely different things, and conflating them is more likely to reflect issues on your part. “I’m cool not owning my own pets” doesn’t mean “kittens are shit.” You have to understand how weird it is to think those are the same??

It seems like the smallest amount of critical thinking makes this obvious? The average married woman might not be as happy as the average single woman… but that could still mean that 49% of marriages make married women happier than the average single woman. Bad marriages make your life worse. Good marriages make your life better. I’m cool with not eating Mexican food if we’re talking about Taco Bell, but I’m still going to try to find great street tacos.

As far as I can tell, a lot of Red Pill philosophy is observing (and being angry about) women having agency and making decisions that are rational and beneficial for themselves. For example, most women I know go through phases of being uninterested in or emotionally unavailable for serious relationships. During those times, they don’t vet romantic/sexual partners on whether they’d be good long-term serious partners. It seems obvious that you wouldn’t care whether someone would be a good potentia…

I don’t understand the point of the conversation. Marriage is a tool, like a hammer. I understand that you don’t use nails, and don’t want anyone else to use nails. ….other people still want to use nails, and therefore some of them are going to benefit from hammers. It’s not an attack on your relationship.

/r/PurplePillDebate17/11/22 09:45 PM

If you can’t trust to do those things with them without the forcible penalties associated with the dissolution of it, then you shouldn’t be doing it at all I’ve seen people develop serious psychological disorders later in life, so the idea of “trusting” someone based on their current behavior is pretty ludicrous to me. But even so, I find that “trustworthy” people are not the ones afraid of being held accountable… And yes, I am somewhat opposed to romantic partners being dependent on each other.…

A mutual agreement in case things don’t work out? Okay, maybe. That’s… what marriage is. A mutual agreement to share assets and liabilities. That’s what we’re discussing. It seems like you fundamentally oppose people being dependent on romantic partners. It’s fine not to choose that! I didn’t choose that! But most people want to do things with a partner that create different long-term impacts, especially if they breakup. Having kids is a choice that creates physical risks for one person’s body, …
/r/PurplePillDebate17/11/22 08:59 PM

Not sure what partner means to you… but typically it means you’re building things in partnership. Again, I’m saying this as someone who has never married, is very independent, and is ambivalent about partnership. Part of the reason I haven’t pursued partnership is because of the consequences.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/11/22 08:08 PM
13

Someone who stays because it might cost them a lot to leave, is no longer in a genuine relationship. If you imagine that marriage causes this problem, you are completely wrong. The dependent choices made in the relationship cause this problem. If I’ve given up my career to support an unmarried partner making more money, I can’t leave them because of the costs. I have to stay. The relationship is no longer genuine. Marriage is the tool that ALLOWS both people to leave without becoming destitute.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/11/22 07:33 PM
19

The attitude of “marriage should make it harder to leave” is horrendous in my opinion. I have no idea what you’re responding to. I don’t care about making it harder to leave. I care about having a structure to share/separate assets and liabilities if someone chooses to leave. That’s what marriage and divorce is. Right, so you make those decisions based on trust Literally WHY? It’s like saying “So just drive without car insurance and trust that it’s going to work out. Or don’t drive.” Why limit m…
/r/PurplePillDebate17/11/22 07:15 PM

And none of those things require an antiquated ceremony or a legally binding contract. How does it not? To distribute risk? If I move for someone’s job, taking a huge (and possibly irrevocable) hit to my career, a contract is the only way to distribute long-term RISK. Trusting the “health of the relationship” to make me financially whole leaves me at RISK, and my partner not at risk. Or are you saying it doesn’t matter that I’m at higher risk?

Cheating is deceiving for one-sided gain. That’s why it’s called cheating, like cheating in a game. If two people feel that sexual expression is core to their freedom and bodily autonomy, they would be in an open relationship. One person enjoying all the benefits of monogamy and open relationships at the expense of another, and without the other persons consent is not a celebration of autonomy.

PRESCHOOL IS NOT KINDERGARTEN. Preschool is BEFORE kindergarten. That’s what the PRE means. Preschool is not compulsory. Most people go to preschool but don’t become lawyers. But many lawyers went to preschool. Most friendship don’t become romantic relationships. But many romantic relationships started as friendships.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/11/22 06:38 PM

You seem to be assuming that having an existing platonic relationship is a requirement for a romantic one. I’m totally at a loss at how you could have gotten even to your first sentence here? I literally said that “many of my relationships still started as friendships.” Obviously the other ones DID NOT. Preschool does not mean primary school. No one knows or cares whether lawyers went to preschool before kindergarten. Very bizarre takes here.

A massively huge number of people understand that there’s no god and that moral responsibility is a social construct. Because most long term friendships remain friendships for people. That doesn’t follow. It’s like saying lawyers didn’t go to preschool, because most people who go to preschool don’t become lawyers… I’ve had a lot of friends that didn’t become relationships… because I’ve had a lot of friends. But many of my relationships still started as friendships. This still happens all the time.

But as a man he has to do this constantly. And if he complains then he's a loser and no is listening . He doesn’t have to do it constantly though. Every mature person I know has taken a break from dating because they need to heal from past experiences before dating again.

1) Kindness is almost never expressed as a priority on this sub. Men rate women on looks, not kindness. No one says they’re looking for their kindness-match. Men make post after post about rejecting women for high body counts, and none about rejecting women who call men “faggots.” If it were true that women don’t care about men’s feelings, it sure doesn’t seem to bother men very much. 2) In all of these cases, everyone has the right to set boundaries about their own behavior. If a woman doesn’t …

I’m referencing literally the only author you have described as a good source. If reputable sources confirm your position, feel free to cite them. I can’t prove a negative, and the only source we both respect explicitly disagrees with you.

“Importantly, adds Nagoski, spontaneous desire doesn’t equate to more interest in sex, nor does responsive desire equate to less interest in sex. This is incorrect. They are only about source, not amount. You can have a responsive desire and get turned on every day if that’s when your partner initiates. You can have spontaneous desire and get turned on once a year on your own.

I’ve gone through long periods where I wasn’t interested in commitment, because I needed to focus on myself and wasn’t sufficiently emotionally available. But giving up on the potential for commitment meant sacrificing a lot. You can’t even decide to spend the holidays together or plan a proper vacation if you have to constantly prepare for the possibility that you won’t be seeing each other. Forget about sharing a home, splitting chores, splitting bills, taking care of each other when you’re in…

The subject is non-sexual friendships, which includes a wide variety of friendships. YOU keep bringing up friendships between men and women that men are attracted to. Why? /r/PurplePillDebate02/11/22 12:50 AM

The fact that your mind went straight from Platonic Friend to Woman I Want To Fuck proves the entire point. Many women have same sex friends, gay male friends, friends from different generations, people they mentor, etc. But too many men can ONLY imagine connecting with someone they are sexually attracted to. That’s the problem.

If your wife didn’t consent to being in the car, that’s very illegal and yes, probably indicative of some mental issue.

I never said that people shouldn’t date people with different educational levels. Of course you haven’t. That would actually be addressing the post. All I’ve repeated here is that they’re more likely to have things in common with people who share a similar background. SO WHAT?
/r/PurplePillDebate26/10/22 12:48 AM

And therefore… what? No one should date people with a different degree than they have? Even though that means that large numbers of people will be single just for that reason?

I did not know that you would repeat the same irrelevant point again.

I don’t understand. You think people are lucky when they have partners who don’t want to cheat, yes? And your wife is not one of the lucky people?
/r/PurplePillDebate24/10/22 03:25 PM
12

But your wife is unlucky.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/10/22 03:17 PM

So you are saying take a risk of getting HIV and giving it to your wife without her consenting to that risk = no big deal. Because that sounds sociopathic to me.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/10/22 03:01 PM

Use protection and do blood tests after every sexual encounter outside marriage. It takes up to 3 months for HIV to show up in a test. Are you saying the man should not have sex with his wife for three months after each time he cheats?

My first partner was obviously the best I’d ever had… and the sex was often uncomfortable. When I heard other women talking about their positive sexual experiences, I knew that better was out there. Personal experience isn’t the only source of data, and inexperienced women still leave men because they are unsatisfied
/r/PurplePillDebate23/10/22 10:54 PM

First, they are more confident about the outcome of a possible conflict. Why would a man feel confident about a potential conflict with another man?

Why wouldn’t it be OK to be wary of a complete stranger?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/10/22 05:16 PM

I think women are as open and friendly to being approached by a male stranger as men are. Men are just as wary and cautious when approached by a male stranger. Everyone is aware than men have a greater capacity to cause harm, and acts accordingly.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/10/22 02:46 PM
5

When I said, it wasn’t JUST women’s bad decisions, what did you think that meant??
/r/PurplePillDebate23/10/22 06:17 AM

That doesn’t just sound like “women’s” bad choices. A guy having more kids than he can pay for because the government will step in…
/r/PurplePillDebate23/10/22 02:16 AM
4

Yes, the government is taking the role of a better job.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/10/22 01:17 AM

or find a way to earn more Then the government is not acting as a man, but a promotion.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/10/22 01:10 AM
11

You seem unaware that men can and do take care of children without living with the children’s mother. If the couple lives together, the man can provide some time to care for the children. He can do that even if he does not live with the woman. just pointing out that the government is still there as a husband helping No, the government is not filling in as husband, but as father, because the man is choosing not to be one.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/10/22 01:09 AM
14

Personal opinion: A “man” doesn’t take care of his own child unless he’s getting his dick wet probably wouldn’t start if he were.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/10/22 01:03 AM

Every kid in government childcare has a father today. You think if the government closed these daycares, these guys would start paying??
/r/PurplePillDebate23/10/22 12:59 AM
24

Most things women may need from a man can be provided by the state: free childcare services How is childcare something “women need from men?” Don’t men need childcare? Without the government, would men be providing most of the childcare?

the claims I made in the reply was just my observation of him and people his age. Oh, you “observed” your cousin throwing away his potential? Did he shoot heroin during the wedding reception or something?

A teenager not telling you his “hero” has absolutely nothing to do with either of these.

You: “80% of divorces are initiated by women.” Your source: “Wives are the ones who most often file for divorce at 66 percent on average.”
