7	how much does college gpa matter? To employers (really HR personnel or recruiters looking through resumes) it's a good weeding mechanic in the hiring process. Internships normally rely on multiple items (depending on the quality and type of internship) that might include anything from requiring a great GPA (3.5+ from what I've seen) to recommendation letters.
