| 1 | The 77% wage gap statistic gets thrown around a lot, even though it doesn't take into account any variables, such as job, seniority, or even hours. It's not for the same work. To me, this is flat out manipulative and disingenuous.I tend to fall back on Hanlon's razor for this one: Don't attribute to malice what can be attributed to stupidity. The 77% stat is 99% about people's inability to read and understand data. The 77% figure is completely accurate, but paints a woefully incomplete picture. It's the median earnings of full time, year round workers 15 years and older. That's all.
