Well, your premise is not entirely accurate. While some information is the same and will never change (when the declaration of independence was signed for example) there are new discoveries every decade and depending on the filed or study there could be new updates every year or every month. While this new information can (and usually is) added online it still is worth teaching in a "proper way" with people who had devoted their entire adult lives on the subject.
