Men who were not confident in paleolithic times could not provide for their families and for the tribe Rubbish. Prey animals don't give a damn if you are the type to boast about previous kills or be modest about them. All that mattered was whether you put food on the table.

Wasn't that the one where the women were sitting still as the guys moved down the line, but when they switched it so the women had to move they became less picky?

Yeah it's a stretch to call it kindness in the short term, but if it leads to growth or improvement it's better for her in the long run which is nice. Basically I am disputing the notion that men should always stand up for their women even when (or especially when) they're in the wrong. Much healthier to accept that people can be wrong sometimes.

Depends on the "shit talk." Shutting people down for attempting valid criticism isn't going to help, especially if they have information I don't. But I'm sure were imagining completely different scenarios.

To be in a committed relationship maybe, but just to date you? No. This says more about you, and what else you are (not) bringing to the table.

the level of drunkenness in which someone is unable to consent probably roughly starts around when they're slurring their words. Of course it gets worse from there. Question is how much further after that the line is, and you made a poor attempt to define it.

Slurring words is not incapacitated. Have you never heard yourself slur then immediately realize and correct it? Think more along the lines of unable to get yourself home safely.

The substance and logic are apparent to me, perhaps you could try reading it again and thinking about it awhile longer?

Yep, one of the biggest differences between men and women is men play salesman role while women play customer. Equality has been floundering for 30 years due largely to this persistent dynamic.

It wasn't even for that comment in particular. Instead of reacting defensively you might try improving your attitude.

Your narrow minded perspective is pitiful, and you have a lot of growing up to do.

Feigning disinterest is immature and short sighted. They may be more eager for your approval at first, but soon they'll expect you to stop acting stuck up. The problem isn't being too sweet or opening up too much, it's probably just that when you do there is more tendency to reveal some legit incompatibility.

If he wanted fresher towels he would've washed them without being asked. So you're basically asking him to do you a favor, and making it clear you won't appreciate it.

You could have taken that as an opportunity to expand on your opinion. I would agree that women can be more pragmatic about some kinds of long term thinking, but also more likely to react emotionally during a personal conversation.

Well there's plenty of garden variety insecurity I wouldn't consider crumbling or neurotic. Sure focus on what you can control, improve where you can, but eventually you will find yourself going back and forth on some things and realizing a lot of its "random", or at least that there's too many variables to account for.

I think we understand each other. "That's too bad. Maybe I'll figure out what happened. (Maybe I'll never know)" that is insecurity. And yes we can control our emotions, but not the feedback which is at least as important.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/10/17 07:15 AM

It's a feedback loop, you get used to. Imagine you get a haircut and receive a bunch of compliments from women you like, but next time you get the same cut from the same barber but no compliments, or just one from someone you look down on. Part of you will wonder why, it gets insecurity brewing. And that's all I meant about giver being in a position of power, they control when and how to dole them out.
/r/PurplePillDebate04/10/17 06:59 AM

I suspect receiving compliments and attention can actually make them insecure in the long run. Like any boost or reward you want again but it's not entirely within your control. The person giving the compliments is sort of in the position of power.

Yeah I think those are admirable qualities more about maturity than masculinity. Not repressing emotions so much as overcoming them. Sports are a great way to learn how your feelings don't mean shit unless you can turn them into actions.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/17 06:29 PM

No I'm still catching up on old episodes, but I did hear more are coming. I don't agree that a woman approaching a man makes her masculine. Assertive agressive yes, but guys can be attracted to confidence too. I see it more like nobody wants to do the work and take the risk but someone has to. Some people say all athletic women are masculine, and I might agree for a few sports, but mostly it's a turn on.

Its not hypocritical as a preference, but would be as a policy or position you actually believe, because what if men thought that way about women. Anyway I'm busy watching black mirror now.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/09/17 04:46 AM

I don't have the energy to hate, and no thankfully there are some women who can get over the fear and make a move once in awhile. Not having hypocritical rationalizations like "if he doesn't approach then he isn't worthy" probably helps.

Yeah you're simple alright, simple and spineless. Like a jellyfish
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/17 11:46 PM

There's other variables like medication food exercise, consistent enough to give a false sense of security is all. The area where men have more control are male bc, pulling out, condoms, etc. You would think a guy could control where he finishes once he knows how his body works but again no, genitals are tricky.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/09/17 03:26 AM

Its significant for women trying to use fertility awareness but cycles do change and it could have zero bearing on what a man chooses to use. I know you aren't saying women's control detract from men's, just that they have more in general, but you have to be logic leaping to arrive there.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/09/17 03:01 AM

Both have "some control" and you're going to have a tough time trying to qualify an imbalance. 78.6 % more control from one of the least effective methods means very little, pill is better but say men have no control on either of those it still doesn't add up to any actual imbalance.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/09/17 02:40 AM
3

Why, because women have more options for birth control? The rhythm method is just one of several options available to both sexes, a guy could claim to be sterile or sneak a condom off during. Where's the imbalance?

You are responsible for your own contraceptive, what your partner says or is actually doing just falls into the "risks I'm willing to take" category, and none of its foolproof. Guess a vasectomy is pretty close.

Nah, men and women have equal control over a potential pregnancy.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/09/17 12:51 AM

I must've misunderstood equality because reciprocation at best isn't good enough. Like playing tennis with a wall instead of a partner.

Isn't it hilarious how women are widely considered to have more empathy than men simply because men are more honest on hypothetical surveys? No? It's not hilarious? OK then

Maybe we are all basically the same person and only have different opinions, and make different choices, and often can't understand each other, because of the unique culmination of experiences we call our lives.

You are probably just dropping hints and consider it "approaching" because you don't know any better. You don't have the balls.
