I don't think this is true at all. We can argue that women face more harsh forms of rejection, but to argue that the scales are equivalent isn't rooted in reality. The average woman has around 6-8 sexual partners in her lifetime. even if we double that, do women ONLY reject 16 men in her lifetime? really? Also, biologically women have so much more to lose after sex such as an unexpected preganancy or rape. The only way you could claim the numbers were the same is if women and men were the same, …

You don't make that distinction anywhere in the post. You literally open with 'there's an overrepresentation of autistic/socially inept men' and not 'men with unreasonably angry and sociopathic views on life.' This entire post is filled with contempt for people that don't allign with your worldview or have different struggles than you. That attitude is exactly why the same people you mock get attached to these spaces. Posts like this that insinuate struggling men are defective and stupid for str…

There's nothing to even debate or discuss in this post. These guys are idiots for not believing your worldview? is that it?

I think we're talking past each other a bit. OOP moralizes the act of settling, treating it as an act of dishonesty and bad character. "They go through the motions, saying whatever she wants to hear" "They resent the woman for forcing them to settle" My overall point is that settling is not good or bad, it just is. We're all constrained by time and location. We do not end up with perfect partners, we end up with partners good enough for our goals whether that be marriage or casual. But yes, I do…

Show me where I said that women settling wasn't pragmatic.

Lets accept this strawman and assume a man that wants to date based on physical attraction. If he finds a woman who's equally willing and enjoys the dynamic, why is this inherently immoral? Neither people in this dynamic are stripped of agency and either can leave if they're not fufilled. Do you believe that women need protection from the choices they make?

Settling is pretty amoral. Since assortive mating is the norm, we can assume that people make compromises in one way or another. You can "take what you can get" and still be very happy with your choice. You're taking resentment and desperation, and conflating that with being pragmatic.

Everyone takes what they can get, it's just a matter of scale.

You can. Context clues like what they are wearing, the location, what they are doing, what they might be saying. Unless you talk to them you're inferring. like I said. in•fer: deduce or conclude (information) from evidence and reasoning rather than from explicit statements. You can look at someone and gather a lot of context clues. At least, women can and do. Yes, you infer what the person is like with context clues but you'll never be 100% certain. Do you think abusers and rapists tell women up…

My argument is that women include personality in physical attraction. Okay, lets define physical according to The Cambridge Dictionary just for this debate. "relating to the body" "sexual" You cannot look at someone and assume they're funny or smart unless you're going off of stereotypes created by the same capitalistic system you criticized. You can infer personality traits based on how someone carries themselves but it's all surface level and you'll never be certain until you actually talk to …

This is a very interesting response. What do you think these men would do if the standards of masculinity were lifted off their shoulders?

Because people don't exist silently just staring at each other in a relationship. I never argued that looks were the only thing that mattered in a relationship, just the prerequisite. This is a strawman. I'm married, so no. But previously, yes. Smart, funny, and treating me well are attractive qualities that are the foundation of a relationship." That's fair and I'm glad that it worked out for you, I just don't think it's the norm at all. Actually, this study shows that physical attractiveness i…

No? I gave reasons and examples for all my arguments. Saying "That's incorrect." without justification is not good faith debating. I'm open to changing my mind though, why don't you think that physical attraction is a precursor to a relationship? Would you date any smart and funny person that treats you well?

You're not even debating or making arguments; you're ascribing your personal beliefs as universal truth. Have a nice day my friend.

I never said that looks are the only thing that matter; I said that they're foundational. You need some level of physical attraction to get to the point where intelligence and humor can matter. What that level is varies from person to person, and grooming can help tip the scale in your favor. I thought my girlfriend was physically attractive so I approached her, built a rapport, got her number, and eventually asked her out on a date.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/11/25 07:30 PM

What number would change my argument? have you dated men you didnt find visually attractive?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/11/25 07:13 PM

Looks are the foundation of a relationship imo. But even if you aren't conventionally attractive, grooming signifies self-respect which is an attractive trait. To me, personality is so broad that I can't quantify what makes a "good" personality. Every person has their own strengths and weaknesses that make each dynamic different. I'm fine with introverted women that like a night in or an extroverted women that like a night out.

Cultural tropes from a time where both genders were shackled to their gender roles is not evidence that men in marriages secretly resent their wives. With no fault divorce and economic prosperity for women, it's never been easier to get a divorce. Your opinion of women is pretty low if you think they're too clueless or desperate to sense resentment in their husbands.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/11/25 06:29 PM

Looks will always matter far more than personality. "Personality" is really just a man's proximity to a specific caricature anyway.

I agree, asking for empathy from women that couldnt give two shits about you even if you were the most goodie two-shoes feminist is so cringe. The solution to loneliness / inceldom will always be actionable, not moral.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/11/25 05:28 PM
1

That's not relevant to my claim. I'm asking you to prove that men secretly feel resentment towards their wives in marriages that DO NOT END.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/11/25 05:03 PM

You made the claim that men secretly resent their partners after chasing 20 year old women. The burden of proof is on you.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/11/25 04:48 PM
2

Settling is amoral; you're describing resentment. Sure, plenty of marriages fail, but in the ones that don't, do you think that these men secretly resent their partners? How do you even quantify that?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/11/25 01:24 PM

So people settle then, thanks.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/11/25 12:55 PM

You didn't really engage with my point. This is a moreso a rant than a response. Do you think that people have traits that they're willing to compromise on? yes or no?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/11/25 12:42 PM

But you just said most men are in committed relationships meaning that there is some sort of compromise going on. Whether that be in looks, height, status, domestic capability, or financial ability. Both men and women have non-negotiables and things that are nice to have but not requirements.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/11/25 12:30 PM

Vetting for behavior solves most of it. If a woman initiates intimacy (both physical & emotional) at an adequate rate, reciprocates my investments into the relationship, and has a growth mindset I could care less about being settled for.

Honestly, Its not even just useful to society, the overall message is "Your feelings are not valid unless they fit MY criteria for pain." There are men who do have real issues that isnt “I have no one to suck me off!” Here you flatten lonely men's issues into getting just having sex. Could it be that men are socialized to believe that sex is one of their only pathways to emotional intimacy? Nah, its because they're all sex pests. It's funny because we accept that women can have multiple gripes w…

All her posts circle around the same idea that your feelings as a man are not valid unless you're useful to society. It's very psychopathic.

Fathers aren't really "obligated" to do anything besides inseminate a vagina. But if I was a father, i'd want my son to not fall down the same traps and inefficiencies that I did growing up, which include learning how to be successful romantically & sexually. Ideally you cultivate such a good relationship with your child that they feel like they can tell you anything.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/10/25 09:39 PM

Meeks is an exaggeration of morality and attractiveness being orthogonal. We can infer that people don't end up with their perfect partners, some just choose to compromise on "morality". Also, why do you act like inmates are a binary? inmates can have partners, girlfriends, and spouses lol... Attraction is very amoral.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/10/25 10:18 AM

I don't think it's really the phrase itself that throws men off. Growing up, traits that were synonymous with being a good husband were often used to soften rejection. Over time I just started to associate those traits with rejection. At the end of the day, men should vet for behavior and reciprocation above all else.

The Male Loneliness Epidemic is a conglomeration of issues, it's not really just men at fault. I'd argue its much more structural.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/25 10:47 PM

Yup. I think a lot of guys on this sub try to moralize things and it paralyzes them. You can be angry or even vitriolic but you cannot be stagnant. How you carry yourself is a reflection on how much you respect yourself. EDIT: not even how much you respect yourself, but how much you APPEAR to respect yourself. and that apperance makes you more attractive.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/10/25 10:13 PM

At the end of the day the work is inevitable. If I could do it all over again I'd start even younger.

I think the biggest thing was acceptance. You shouldn't really moralize certain shit like how shallow women are or 80/20, you just take it and move on with your life. Happiness isn't really the result of the red pill in my opinion, its just indifference.
