I’m not saying he snaps his fingers and gets money, but a divorce attorney (which NOBODY should ever get divorced without one) would argue the simple facts and that would get him taken care of. It is that simple for the person that takes care of the children.

The way the legal system works, she’s going to have to pay you child support and alimony if you’re the primary caregiver to the children. SHE will need to move out, SHE will need to pay, SHE will need to stick to a visitation schedule.

She’s gonna have to pay YOU child support and alimony. Get a GOOD lawyer.

You need to look at it this way…IF your story makes this guy dip out from your ex, you will have gotten the last laugh. Don’t forget that. No matter what happened back then, you seem to be in a better place now. At the end of the day, you will remain on your path and you can also place land mines in hers just by being honest.

Honestly, I think it took balls to reach out to you about this topic. I would 100% share my version of the events to make sure he doesn’t go through the same BS you did.

The sad fact of the matter is, he will realize his mistake AFTER the wedding, if you’re stbxw is a messy drunk, it’s inevitable!

Ask if she’d allow you to seek intimacy elsewhere. If you love her and she loves you, it’s worth a conversation BEFORE jumping to divorce. You never know what she’ll say if you are honest and talk about it before you do anything. If your only other option is divorce, what’s the harm in asking?

Yeah, that’s how my stbxw is too. Thank god your kids have you to show them what a responsible adult looks like. She sounds like if you did get divorced, the kids eventually won’t want to spend time with her.

Some people shouldn’t have ever had kids. It’s hard work raising responsible adults. Just know that whatever happens, the kids didn’t ask for any of it, so focus on them. The extra stuff will work itself out.

A short marriage like that, it’s almost like an annulment opposed to a divorce. Don’t lie about it, but don’t lead with it.

Most of the time borderline/narcissistic people don’t even care to step up when they have kids.

I’ve been in a marriage like this for 7.5 years. I wish I left years ago but I’m working on the process now. I’ll be 42 in two months and feel I threw away some of my best years. Get out now if you decide you want out. People don’t change.

I know plenty of guys that have had more success with their second marriages.

Geez, I don’t wish my STBXW on anyone. I wish mine would be that nice to me.

The end game isn’t your problem anymore. As long as you’re doing right by you and your kids, her nonsense shouldn’t be in your head. When you play into it, that’s the “end game”, it’s for her to think she has the upper hand and the last word.

Kinda sounds like you went off the rails. I can’t say I haven’t been there as a man, but your response to the messages being in English, versus what they said, kinda shows that it’s not too far from the truth, just maybe interpreted differently with the language barrier.

You need to hire a lawyer. Paying the mortgage isn’t an excuse to not pay an ex-wife if the house is in both of your names. If it’s in your name, it should be YOUR house, unless it’s putting the kids in a situation that would alter their daily lives, if it’s both of your names are on the house, it doesn’t matter who paid what, it’s a joint asset.

Hopefully all goes well in finding the RIGHT attorney. I would have suggested a firm if you were in Illinois or Michigan. Good luck!

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
