We haven't needed to use the draft since Vietnam, and I doubt we will anytime soon. While the above point is true, I do see the problem. But, thankfully, the issue is already being dealt with. February this year a court case ruled that a male only draft is unconstitutional, the only reason this hasn't really changed much yet is because in 2017 the National Commission on Military, National, and Public Service was created to review this, among other things. Well for some quick examples, at the highest level of power, the royalty, only males inherited titles unless there were only daughters. Women weren’t military commanders, and generally, even if they were able to get into a male dominated field (most fields back then) they weren’t respected. At the risk of being too simplistic, lack of respect = less power. Depending on how they lack that power, if they did then sure.
