Then call a neovagina a neovagina. Not a penis inside out.

You can doubt science and still respect someone, that's my whole point.

The thing is, what you can read here is always said to her face as well, and not raising attention on how toxic it is to say such things isn't the solution for it to stop. Also, if it's offensive to a third party for a valid reason (judgement comes in here, so you can't classify it, but I guess 'wanting to have basic respect' is good enough), I stand with them.

And then you can read how much more complex that is, and how it's not a penis inside out. But I reread his comment and I guess I over-reacted over something over-simplified. Just... Call a vagina a vagina

You can doubt it and not disrespect someone. And until proven false, the current papers are true with all their evidence. Someone saying the earth is flat isn't "not technically wrong". It goes the same for trans people : doubt papers if you want, that's what currently is true.

Yeah, I always have a hard time with people not accepting scientific evidences. I'm the same with antivaxxer for example. And saying he instead of she, despite everything, can hurt people (there is a reason why the trans suicide rate is so high, and those stuff play a big part in it, the constant bullying, existence denying, rights denials, ...). I'm not the most open-minded person when it comes to unscientific claims, behind which a lot of transphobes hide.

Exactly. Still a woman.

Just a quick link, might not be the best outside of surgeons articles but here https://www.healthline.com/health/transgender/vaginoplasty#technique It's not like a glove you can pull in or out.

Just wanting people to respect trans people isn't smart, it's basic decency...

I guess, but arguments backed up by science should be listened to. Especially when they use that same science wrongly to be transphobes.

Not a female, a woman. We agree on that

Not when they are scientifically wrong, indeed. I'm not a big fan of misinformation I must say

Yeah, I should know better than expect basic respect on the internet... Especially on such a subject.

You refer to someone as their gender, not their chromosomes. Also, hopes this help https://blogs.scientificamerican.com/voices/stop-using-phony-science-to-justify-transphobia/

Then don't spread misinformation on that subject, that's all

They determine the sex. Not the gender. They are different things. Just because yours are aligned doesn't mean they are the same thing. And I don't understand how this is still unclear tbh. https://blogs.scientificamerican.com/voices/stop-using-phony-science-to-justify-transphobia/ hope this helps.

https://blogs.scientificamerican.com/voices/stop-using-phony-science-to-justify-transphobia/ you should read that, and many more articles on the subject... Science is with trans people. Sex isn't gender. I don't get how it's hard to understand.

Gender isn't sex, sex isn't gender, chromosomes aren't gender. So, she. It's really not that hard.

The thing is, there is no debate... Gender isn't sex. Sociologists say it, scientists say it, trans had to gather proofs they are valid, and now that they did, you can't decide to just ignore those.

Scientists, trans people, allies and supportive people, open-minded people who want to understand others, ... ?

If you are talking about fertility, I agree, you can't pass from sperm to eggs or the opposite. But biology is far more complex than that (I have links in another answer to someone here, that replied to the same comment as you). I wish nobody ever said that trans weren't people, but from my personal experience, some don't treat us as such... I've never heard about it tbh, but I'm in France, where I always heard LGBT, never less letters, so I guess the differences are from location :/

Those 45% aren't linked to SRS as I said previously and as your own links tell :/ nor to HRT either.

What do you mean by piggybacking off the gay rights? I want to make sure to understand. The biological aspect is being studied, and most of trans people just want to be considered as... Well... People :/

Thank you for your links, it's good to see where your info come from. Honestly. But, because of course there is a but, the first link indicates nowhere that SRS causes more trauma and suicide, the second and third one that trans people are often more affected by depression and suicidal thoughts/tries, which is true, but state as well that the causes are mainly the rejection and bullying they experience. And the last one says that SRS isn't the final solution because even after it, the person sti…

Since you're the one giving arguments here, may I see your sources? Because just hearing a stranger on the Internet saying it doesn't really matter. :) Again, I have mine, ready to share them and to read yours.

You didn't see r/justiceServed yesterday? That was some real trolling there, not like you're doing. With one, maybe two maximum Google search, you would understand that "facts" as you like them, are in favor of the trans community (scientific researches, things like that...). I do have sources but I'm not sure you'd take time to read something in my favor, even if it's scientific evidences.

The usual arguments, uh? Transphobia is like homophobia: despite the origin of the word, it's not related to fear anymore. And mentally ill... Really?... This is getting old, said without any research or respect, so I'll just ignore it, too easy to dismantle. At least try to be original when you troll, like on JusticeServed yesterday

At first I thought it was funny, as satire. And then, the comment section and all the transphobes clichés you can find there made me realize... Maybe people actually think this is true and not satire...

I can't agree on that, as toxic masculinity can take many forms. Like shaming a man that express his emotions, that cries etc... That's toxic, as everyone should be able to do so. Or the usual "The more pussies you had, the better you are", that's some toxic masculinity, as if the worth of a man was linked to his number of sexual partners. But in this case, saying that women facing the consequences of their acts is toxic masculinity is bullshit... It's just... Normal?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
