I recently saw an article saying that people who break gender norms are much less likely to be elected to public office. Like it or not, defying gender norms is one of the fastest ways to shoot yourself in the foot in current (American) society. And it is much stricter on men than on women, who can wear pretty much whatever and still be respected and taken seriously.

One of its rules is that when the Alt-Right said something hateful, they’d always put it like a joke and deny it meant anything, even though these ‘jokes’ were always worded as an insult against particular groups and were rarely actually funny. Exactly. “Boys will be boys” is a form of casual misandry that does much more to spread prejudice against males than helping boys to get away with things. I think his logic was that gender issues affect women most so women had to make up the panel. I don’t know the link to the interview. It was featured on a commentary channel called Legion of Men, who agreed with Reeves that it was better to push men into jobs like plumber but otherwise disagreed.
