So what we do is my husband has a master list of all the bills and estimated costs of weekly things (gas, groceries) and each week we talk about things that aren't normal (aka the fees for our oldest son's basketball league, me getting my hair cut, etc) and he gives me the money for the next week on Fridays. Any money left over from groceries I keep for my Starbucks or whatever. We talk everything over and make sure we agree on what's what and he gives me the cash. Occasionally groceries will be…

I do not have a college degree and work intermittenly (per diem, as a CNA). We live off of my husband's income and except for his college loans, live debt free. Single income can be done, it just isn't glamorous. We have an old Toyota (15 years old) we budget (gasp!) and we have never been on a fancy vacation. It is a sacrifice but if its important, its something you can make work.

It is so easy to fall into this trap! I have two boys, 5 and 7 and we homeschool, and my husband works from home a few days a week so I feel very susceptible to this trap often. Some things I do are always drop what I'm doing to do for my husband, I always correct my oldest when he interrupts his father (although I do correct him when he does this to everyone) and I shield my husband from various annoyances (aka the kids) when he is in his study. Plus I try (I do fail occasionally) to be availab…

Well you seem to have an answer for everything everyone here says. It's your body, your teeth. Unfortunately we can't keep people like you from bothering society with your bodily odors, although I have heard of places firing people for poor hygiene so maybe at some point you'll realize it's important for if only that reason. However finding a man that will put up with your poor hygiene? You may have to put up with his too.

Have you ever thought about brushing your teeth after breakfast??
/r/RedPillWomen29/12/15 05:24 AM

"Brush fully"?!?! You don't even brush your teeth in the morning? What do you dislike about yourself so much that you feel you don't deserve proper hygiene? This isn't about you not caring about your co workers it's about you not thinking you're worth the effort.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but it almost seems to me that this guy is doing to her what she is doing to her husband. He dumped her and wants nothing to do with her because she is too much of a lower value than her, and she doesn't want anything to do (well apart from him being beta bucks) with him because she considers him too low value for her.

She should be absolutely ashamed, she's so focused on her feeeeeelings for "S", rather than on how she's totally ripped apart their marriage I 100% agree with everything you said, especially this. She made a mess of her marriage and the only thing she cares about is "what if I fix my marriage and ten years later he comes back and I still love him?" What is this, some messed up version of The Notebook??

My hair is short, about a inch maybe two beneath my ears. I find that wearing make up and earrings helps a lot to adding femininity.

I think you should up your game a little bit. Buy some sexy underthings, initiate with him, initiate in a place other than the bedroom. If you find even stepping up your game, that the frequency does not rise, it seems that frequency may just be enough for him. Most men like sex 3-5 times a week. Not all men, just most. You're SO is in the minority.

My husband prefers when I initiate. He says that how he knows for sure I want it. It really turns him on to know that I'm coming after him.

Do not waste your time or your heart on this guy. You know he's a pick up artist. His goals are completely different than yours. If you pursue this, you're going to get hurt.

"Everyone is doing it" mentality is a TERRIBLE reason to have kids and as you said the fact that people have been doing it forever isn't a good reason either. But having a desire to have a child, that's a good reason. To want to teach them things and raise them the way you think it should be done and instill your own values in them, that's a good reason. Instead of thinking of it as a selfish act, think of it as "I am going to raise an amazing human being that will bring a change, no matter how …

So what if something is selfish? What's the big deal? You aren't allowed to have one selfish thing in life? Or a few? The point is to not be a totally selfish person. I take one night off a week to go to a women's bible study and once a month my husband and I leave the kids at grandma's, sometimes for the weekend. It is a selfish thing but it makes us better parents. Selfish doesn't automatically mean totally bad. I'm curious as to your obsession with selfish acts. Where did this come from, exac…

If you believe the world is a bad place, does that mean you wish you had never been born? I suspect not and your child would also be happy for their existence.

Wanting to bear children and raise children is the exact opposite of selfish. If you are a good parent, raising kids is about sacrificing your time, energy, and money as well as putting many of your dreams on hold temporarily, long term, or permanently. There is nothing selfish about it. I wanted to have kids because I just felt an urge but my husband and I raise them with intent. I feel like a lot of people just go through the motions of raising kids and don't think twice about the values and e…

Idk why but I felt strongly about them needing to match. Plus they are engraved with our wedding date and the words "our love is everlasting" so I think they're still pretty meaningful without needing to be 10 grand.

My wedding band is made of silver. We bought a matching set on Etsy. I could have cared less what the ring was made out of, I wanted the man, not his money. Any woman who is that concerned with the price of the ring... That should be a GIGANTIC red flag to the man.

THIS IS MY HUSBAND!!!!!! And also a lesson I had to learn for myself. There is absolutely a difference and I actually think a captain that is laid back is preferable because I don't have to dea with his ego on a daily basis.

Just re-read this and I noticed that OP keeps referring to his baby as "the child". Is this guy a sociopath or just an ahole?

OMG this times 1,000. I found OP's whole attitude offensive. If you think raising a child can be done as part time or on the side of your business, you're out of your mind. If you went with that plan of her returning to work and you trying to watch the baby and run your business, you'd drag your wife home to be sahm or the kid would be in daycare before long. Trust me on this OP. Also, raising a child, keeping a home, that is a real job, thank you very much! And she agreed to take on part time w…

Thank you so much. I think you're right about my age and it's funny you mention the looks and weight because even post-wall I still have this woman beat for looks. I have an obsession needing to know the "why" behind people's actions but I suppose I will only be driving myself crazy and it's better to just drop it. She's also a great person to have around to help me work on my patience and composure!

We met 5-6 months ago and right around mid-October she started to change. Perhaps it was just us getting to know each other better and she decided she didn't like my personality.

Pretty much what my husband told me! He said I should have a better poker face because I show my emotions with my facial expressions very easily and she may like getting a rise out of me.

I've thought about her life circumstances maybe being a contributing factor. The thing is, she seems to have a certain group of ppl she likes to deal with and she is very nice and pleasant with them. So I know she can be pleasant. I suppose the best course is to not take it to heart. It's discouraging to have her act like this though.

It seems backward to me too! What on earth could possibly be more important of a job than raising the next generation?

This is a lovely post! It can be intimidating and scary to give up your job to stay home, I just did it myself not too long ago, but this is absolutely where I want to be. Our family has grown closer and runs more smoothly with someone running things in the background. I feel sorry for most women who do not realize what's rewarding and fulfilling job it is to be "just a wife". It is a privilege to be "just a wife".

My husband and I have a "traditional Christian marriage" and that is why rpw appealed to me so much. But yet this comic is spot on. I even get horrified looks from some of the women in my bible study and/or church family when I say I defer to my husband. It's ludicrous.

I read something one time that said that being embarrassed by our SO is useless because we can't change them without sacrificing intimacy, we know that because of the great Laura Doyle, but his actions are his own. They are not a reflection of you. So stop acting like they are. My husband likes to say weird things or be loud when talking to cashiers or clerks and it used to embarrass me but I put that cross down. It's not mine to carry. I can't control what he does or says and I don't want to fi…

This! I have always believed this even before I found rpw. That is why my husband has always been the leader. It was chaotic when I was calling the shots and I would often change my mind based on how I was feeling that day. My husband stays the same.
/r/RedPillWomen01/12/15 03:37 PM

I agree. This is one of the things Laura Doule touches on in her book, giving your husband your problem or what you want, and letting him handle it. Tell him what you want, not how to get what you want.

I would let your husband handle a majority of the confrontational things with her. That's her son, she'll always love him no matter what, but she could really quickly turn on you if she thinks you're being critical. Perhaps if her coming over is such a hassle (and it does sound like a hassle) maybe you could spend time with her out in the community or at her house? That being said it is a perfect opportunity to work on yourself! I do the same with my mother in law. Her and I are so similar and w…

I realized that when I was younger (early 20's) if I was mad about something and he wouldn't give in to my being mad or react, I would do the same thing until I got him mad. I think misery loves company and I think it's something pretty much all women do until we either realize it and stop or our husband's stop communicating.

My husband is not very good at saving money and he is an impulse buyer. We have had fights about things he's bought on a whim or money that just seems to have "disappeared". I'm very concerned about saving up for our next car, padding the emergency fund and retirement. We have had some real blow outs and stand offs, it was rough when I left my job and we became a single income family because he felt that the decision should be 100% his when in reality we both had to make sacrifices because homes…

If you change your minds back and forth I would say it sounds like you just aren't ready yet. Not everyone needs children to feel complete in life, don't let outside or societal pressures make you think you HAVE to have a baby.

Children are amazing! Many ppl who complain and whine about the downside of kids, in my opinion, are just lazy. It's just easier to let yourself and your sex life go after children. I lost my baby weight with both of my kids with relative ease (I was also in my early twenties but whatever) I attribute a lot of it to breastfeeding and I don't take my car around town, we walk. It is so different when the children are yours. Being up every 2-4 hours a night, the rough housing (eps between boys!) it…

This is my husband to a tee! It always confused me in the beginning because my dad is the FINAL WORD on everything, so it was confusing to grow up with that and then have my husband be like "well whatever you pick". I've more come to see it as, he doesn't have the energy to put into every single little decision so he delegates them to me.

We met through a youth group of a few different churches all coming together to widen the pool of Christian kids who knew each other. We became fast friends and our first date was when I was 16, him 17. We got engaged when I was 19 and he was 20 and married about seven months later. We've been married 6 1/2 years. I'm 27 I get no backlash what so ever, I think his father was nervous about us getting married so young, he actually asked my husband at the time if I was pregnant and that's why this …

My husband was homeschooled and is not only a college graduate but is in sales where most of his pay is commission. He isn't weird or awkward, that's a myth that homeschoolers have no social skills. If he didn't have social skills he wouldn't be as good at his job.

I personally would have a problem with this. If she doesn't have enough pride (and I totally agree with you there) that's fine for her, but I wouldn't be ok with an ex having access to go through your stuff whenever they feel like it. The only thing I would have done differently would be to be honest and up front when he asked you you're opinion, it seems as though you just gave him the answer you thought he wanted to hear.

Focus on yourself and bettering yourself rather than focusing on the negatives. I'm a completely different person than I was at 21! I'm 27 now, I didn't even meet my husband until I was 24, we didn't start dating right away, and I was 26 when we finally got married. I remember when I was in my early 20's I had a mental checklist of every so called adult milestone I thought I should be hitting and each time I failed and turned another year older I beat myself up about it. Life isn't about achievi…

Hello! I found this sub just cruising around the internet looking for sites and blogs about traditional marriage and traditional gender roles, this came up and I felt like I was HOME! I've been reading the rpw for about 6 months, never posted, I don't want to give contradictory advice to women! Still trying to learn the lingo. I'm married, a year and a half, together two and half years! Being married is the best thing! We have no biological children together yet, however DH has two precious boys…
