I’m with you on that one. Grateful for 50/50 since it’s the best case scenario in this shit situation, but I’ll never be able to forgive for that

I haven’t had any interaction whatsoever so far with me ex wife’s boyfriend (the AP) but I’m sure it’s coming and I am sure it won’t be good. It’ll be reeeeeal hard to refrain. Do your best to refrain. Hope I can take my own advice when that time comes

I understand….. truly I do. Mine isn’t officially done until next month but we’ve been legally separated the past year and I hate being in the same room. It doesn’t happen often. As much as I feel you in this I’m gonna say…. Be there for your kids. Don’t miss on any big moment they have due to this situation. You don’t have to speak to the ex and in-laws other than the standard “hi” or head nod or wave, then after that, engage with your kids and if they are doing something else talking to others…

Women only care bout how they feel about you in the present time. What you built up, what you did for them, none of that matters to them. It’s all about what their feelings are for you in that present time. Once it dips, stick a fork in it. Sad but true reality.

You made your own bed with this one. Learn from it.

Really really sorry about this bro. It’s especially hard when you’re together that long. I was with my ex for 20 years and married for 14, we spent our entire adult lives together. I know how you feel. I hate to say this, but you’ve got to get out. It will only happen more, even if she ended it with this guy and tried to make things work, it will always be in the back of your mind and you will constantly be sleeping with one eye open. Don’t do that to yourself. Your kids deserve the best version…

As much as I want to believe in karma and that it happens, I don’t know that it always does.

I haven’t read his other post history so that could be the case, but based on this one particular post I don’t think this is a case of her living rent free in his head, I think it’s a case of him being major pissed off (and rightfully so) about his ex choosing a stupid priority over their son while he is struggling with everything

Agreed. If it does get brought up, be very vague about it and speak positively (even if your divorce was negative) and leave it at that.

Could not agree more than this. I do pretty well with women as far as attraction and all that goes, but I can’t take anything seriously at all due to this right here and doubt I ever will again.

As someone that was together 20 years and now split for 10 months and finding out she was already seeing this guy within a month of our split and tried to lie about it…….. I really hope this is true 😀

DM anytime bro…. I gotchu. Me and many others here know exactly how you are feeling and what you are going through. We are in the boat with you. You’re not alone. Rise above it. You have the power whether you feel it right now or not.

Ha, well in that case thank you. The reality is, you can and will be! You have to remember this is very fresh and new to you right now….bro when it first happened to me, I was a train wreck for the first two months! When we split (I hadn’t known of the other guy at that point)…. I couldn’t believe what was happening, it was like a rug was pulled from under me. I did my best to keep our split a secret from everyone, and I lost weight so fast from stressing not eating and I went from being an over…

Grit my teeth, do a good cuss out in my head, maybe even out loud while driving or something, and then take that and channel it into the gym or whatever else as motivation in improving myself. I’m only 10 months in and the divorce doesn’t finalize until July, but I have to accept it for what it is. Does it absolutely fucking suck sometimes? Yes. It does. I’d be lying to you if I said otherwise. But as bad as you want to confront, literally no good can come from it. Let’s pretend you cussed him, …

Listen brother….. I know this feeling. I promise I do. My wife and I were together 20 years, married for 13. When I found about the guy, I wanted to go scorched earth. Part of me still would love to square off and dance with fists and see how it shakes out…… But what would that do? At the end of the day, she still made the choice, him over me. She chose to burn everything we built up over 20 years to the ground because of some feelings she caught for some rando. I could call him up, cuss him up …

Yeah….. your friend is super weak. I’d know where I stood with him at that point and peacefully disappear and never have anything to do with him again. Then months or years from now or whatever when he reaches out “what’s up man?! Let’s go hang out”, I’d never respond.

Let me ask this….. was this guy your friend before your marriage and being your groomsman? Or is it someone that came along as a couples friend or that she knew before you or something? Just wanting that info before I go any further

That’s fair, and you don’t have to use it. But I do promise you that you are selling yourself short for no good reason. It’s really just a confidence thing. It’s in you, and it will start to show once you drop flip the switch on the mentality of there’s “nobody that wants me”, to the the mentality of “everyone wants me, I just have to figure out which one of THEM I want.” You have a lot of things going for you bro, and you’re a good man. Your kids are your priority, you are active, and you are c…

This. She’s already decided it. I’m also willing to bet he hasn’t heard the whole story either. And I hate that.

Look…. I’m someone that would love to see anyone here (or anywhere for that matter) work it out with their spouse and be happy. Really I mean that. I’m not quick to jump to “you should leave her it’s done” But once I read that she told you she didn’t love you anymore and there was zero chance you could work it out and then her coming back telling you she would “give you a year”….. I am very much going to jump to the “you should leave her, it’s done”. Unfortunately, she is not going to be the sam…

But you’re not a failure bro….. you listed all kinds of good things that you have going for you. Don’t look at women turning you down as failure. You keep going. It’s really just a numbers game. Treat them all the same, don’t pedestal any of them, keep putting your energy in what you are doing for yourself and do it confidently and they WILL start gravitating towards you. Get active on Instagram and social media and post things that you do (your sports games, career, any of it). Totally lose the…

I say this with love….. it’s your mentality that’s keeping it that way. The way you described yourself, you sound solid and should start feeling that way! Walk into every public place like you own it….. women have a built in detector that senses confidence. Your problem is that while you dress nice, workout, play a sport and get out and try new things, you are lacking confidence. All of those things that you are doing are big builders of yourself, start seeing it that way!! Trust me when I tell …

It’s not something that will happen right away….. you will slowly become more accustomed to your new life and how it is and gradually start accepting it more and start focusing on ways to better your new path. It may not feel like it now, but you will.

Really sorry to hear this bro….. unfortunately when you originally posted it, we all were certain that was the case as it has happened to so many of us. It may not feel like it right now, but you will be ok. I’m on month number 10 of separation, divorce will finalize in July. I was dreading it early in the process before I found about the other guy….. now I can’t WAIT for it to be final. They will go to no limits to lie and cover up their actions. Trust me on that.

Trust me when I tell you that you won’t feel as giddy about it if you actually divorce. I always got female attention too during the marriage that made my mind wander a little bit but I knew better than pursue it. However I would think to myself that I could have some serious fun if single. Then when I had the rug pulled out from me that feeling wasn’t so great. Granted, I’m having some fun now sure, but I absolutely miss my family unit. I’m not saying you’d make the wrong call by divorcing, but…

That’s how I look at it. I am 8 months separated, divorce will finalize in July. Was together 20 years, married 14, and she already has a bf that she started seeing immediately when we separated……. But I tell others that if I went back in time and had a crystal ball and one showed me how life is exactly how it’s been as opposed to something way better, I would take what I’ve been through every single time because of my son. I love him more than I could ever express

I saw an analogy that someone posted here in one of these threads a few days ago (can’t remember which one) and it’s perfect and I now have made it my own personal mantra. It’s like the movie “Pet Semetary”. After the marriage ends and they want to come back, (especially if they were involved with someone else), it is just like taking them and burying them in the Pet Semetary, what comes back is much worse. And this is coming from someone who misses his wife daily.

No good can come from it bro. I know you want a reaction from her, I know you want your point to sink in, I know it hurts and you’re hurt…… but unfortunately it won’t help you in any kind of way. The only effect it will have is to repel her even more. It sucks. I know. That energy, that shitty feeling you have…… go pour it in a killer pull or push exercise in the gym. Start focusing more on crafting yourself and being the best that you can possibly be in all areas of your new life. I know it isn…

Yes and no (if that makes sense). Technically yes, but he has the right to force the sale of the new house and split the profit of the sale 50%, or he can make her pay 50% of the equity. She will have to do one or the other. He has not signed anything to said home, therefore will not reflect on his credit report to harm him. It’s basically lagniappe for him. Someone correct me if I am wrong but that’s how I understand it.

I’m going through divorce currently, and my understanding is that anything purchased before legally divorced, spouse would be entitled to half, which means you now own half of the equity of the new house she just bought.

Exactly how I carry myself now. Several months into legal separation and waiting for finalization over the summer. I want absolutely nothing to do with her other than when something has to be done for son.
