This has been me for three years now. Getting closer to the end, but my god.

I get over it by realizing that she never really loved me in the first place; she just loved what she could get out of me.

That kid will grow up happy knowing nothing but mom and dad apart in two happy homes. Much better than growing up in a home like the one my kids grew up in.

She's his problem now buddy. I know it sucks.

Three years separated, living in the same home, back and forth through lawyers...no end in sight.

She assaulted you and probably not for the first time. Do you really want to go back to the probability of more assault?

I agree; it sure is crazy. The process is ongoing.

Oh we've been in the process the entire time. She wants everything and I disagree with her stance.

We've been separated for three years next month. We've been in the same house the entire time. I don't recommend it.

When my STBX was doing this kind of stuff, I installed a lock on the door. I would lock myself in when I was at home and lock the door anytime I was out of the room/house. Buy yourself a voice recorder and body cam and collect evidence.

I needed this post today. Thank you.

You can't satisfy someone who won't be satisfied. This is the basic dynamic that killed our marriage. Nothing I did was ever good enough, no amount of hoop jumping on my part ever did anything but frustrate me further. So I gave up and she pulled the pin.

I'm over 50. Been separated and cohabitating for the last three years and still going through the divorce process (kill me). I was seeing someone for a while and the first couple tries were bizarre. I will second your last sentence for sure.

I could have written this same tale. Its like they are running on the same program. Congratulations on your emancipation! I'm still in the middle of the divorce process; I can't wait for my sock day.

You cannot satisfy someone who won't be satisfied regardless of what you do or how hard you try. The goalposts will always move and you will always be the villain in her narrative.

Jesus. Its like they are all following the same script.

Lucky. Mine showed me the evilest grin when she told me child support never ends for special needs kids, of which we have two. You damn right I'm going for 50/50.

But he does know some of the clowns.

Dont be scared. I've had worse times at the dentist. Take control over your reproductive status before your little head gets you trapped again.

My right hand has been my most consistent partner for my entire life.

Projection? My STBX has diagnosed me with all the buzzword mental disorders from the past couple decades. She really missed her calling as a psychiatrist. Leaving lots of money on the table there.

I do know some of the clowns, however.

My STBX's mother and sister are absolute nightmares to the men they chose to marry. I'm the only one who got sick enough of their shit to fight back, so I'm the only one who is getting divorced.

Young bro, get out now. I'm 50 years old going through it with a woman I've been with since we were 20. Get out kid. I wish I did at your age. It won't get better regardless of what you do. Don't waste your life.

The people that have been making sure I am OK while going through the process have cemented their places in my heart. Divorce will show you who has your back.

Everything was my fault, apparently.

It's mind-blowing the clarity that a little time and distance gives. None of us deserved the abuse we received.

Could be worse. I got the same but it took thirty years instead of eight.

Weird. My STBXW was an expert on everything from the start.

Shit, at least you got the dog. That's a win.

What the shit do you think I was doing for over twenty years? Why did you ignore what I needed out of this relationship no matter how many times I told you? You say I didn't fight hard enough for us? I ran out of fight. Why fight for something that should have been a given?

Special needs kids. I didn't want to disrupt their lives.

It's my turn too, bro. I'm just at the top of the Rollercoaster, figuring out separation stuff with lawyers and all. Honestly, I can't wait to get it over with and move on. After nearly three decades of a nonsense relationship. I've wasted enough time.

We live in a gynocracy. Your only error was being born with your genitals on the outside of your body. Thems the breaks.

Television is a sales device. In most households, women control the spending. Sit down and watch a show where the husband is a fat moron with a hot wife who saves the day after the husband screws everything up yet again. Watch what they are advertising during the commercial breaks. Think about who the target audience is and why they might enjoy seeing an idiot man being saved by his hot smart wife.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
