Exactly. So, as a man, how the fuck do you prevent this from worrying you so much that it dictates your everyday life? Sheesh. I obviously am not a fucking rapist but this whole thing is scary to me. I never gave this subject much thought until recently.

See, I don’t see how other people see a story about this and then think that a man shouldn’t worry about this. This is truly insane.

So based off of that, every man should worry about this then? That’s where the confusion comes in to me.

Because I asked from a standpoint of being thrown in jail for it, not a civil case where your reputation is ruined and have to spend money on defense attorneys. Literally just asking if it’s that easy to get a man sentenced to a Danny Masterson-like sentence just by saying she is raped. Reputation and going into debt over it is one thing and another big concern, but I also wouldn’t wanna be at risk of spending 20 years in jail for something that didn’t happen all because I broke up with a woman,…

Have you been falsely accused before?

I feel you. The way I look at it is, many men go their whole lives without ever dealing with a false accusation, so while we SHOULD worry about it, how often should we REALLY be worrying about it?

Certainly not saying you’re lying…., but you’re saying that every man should be worried about this on a daily basis then? Are you a man and do you worry about this happening to you?

I’d like to hear an example of something that happened that makes you think this? Lol

Very reasonable response. Appreciate you for helping me understand this better!

This is a subject that confuses me, especially after gaining more knowledge about it. I don’t understand why some people think it’s that easy, while others say it’s not. I mean even I could easily go tell a police officer I got assaulted by such and such lol

Lol, so they don’t even investigate it? They just arrest you without further investigation based off her word? 😂

Ok, so every man should worry about this everyday of their lives?

A month later, and revising these comments… I’m not sure why comments like this got so many downvotes…. It’s as if all the downvoters are saying “yeah a man should freak themselves out over this daily” fearmongering smh

I love how all the comments that say a man shouldn’t need to worry about this daily are the comments with the most downvotes lol…. Reddit is full of fearmongering smh

Trashy white girls who try to portray themselves like they’re a black woman only say this, atleast in my experience. Agreed, very cringe

Oh ok, you work in retail by chance? I also work in retail. Did you get fired?

And he’s pointing out that they don’t happen often, not how often they’re true or false lol….

Not entirely sure why you got downvoted lol

Yupp. I live in the US, where admittedly I’ve heard some sketchy stories.

See, Bam right there is what enforces my worry. I’m a young, 27 year old male who goes to the gym, is well groomed, am very noticeabley muscular, have had a lot of sexual partners and do occasionally get approached by women. I’ve even dealt with a stalker a few times.

Is this something you worry about also? It’s such a fucked up thing to worry about and it sucks, even when you KNOw you’ve never even come close to this type of thing.

Wow… yeah I seen a comment in another thread that said every man should be worried about this type of thing because (obviously) it is a very serious thing. However I don’t think it’s healthy for every man that walks the earth to worry everyday and to let their life be dictated by this the way that comment implied.

Was he arrested/convicted/sued?

Right but encouraging men to walk around everyday worrying about this is also not a way to go about it

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
