Yep I said that: "Focusing on friendships, hobbies, and community connections provides emotional nourishment and purpose that doesn’t hinge on romantic success"

If you say so. Any comments about, you know, my post?

Mate it's not some special ritual. There's no method on how not to have sex. Do normal people stuff without any goal of wanting pussy. The only obstacle is your hormones but I've found those to be less influential when you've got other exciting stuff going on in your life. No one said it would be easy nor is it some one size fits all solution but it is a solution and men need as many of those as we can get.

They were though. If that were case the relationships were equal, to begin with and women today wouldn't find so much independence and empowerment through being single. They don't need to rely on men like they once did. Men never needed women in a way it would be life or death so we never punching up. Past tense. Things have changed.

What were women bringing to the table that made the relationship more stable that could SUPPLEMENT the man's income/career? Simple question. It's been well established that this was when women NEEDED men. Feminism has changed that dynamic now hence so many dropping out of the relationship game.

I could support my argument you just don't like the point I am making. Not the same thing. I do better talking to people not arguing in bad faith. You're a bit of an outlier there.

Unfortunately, nothing you're saying negates the fact the woman would be massively punching up during this time period. Not sure what you're trying to do here.

The entire purpose of communities like this is to discuss topics that people outside the community might not think about or care about. No one specifically “asks” to hear about 4B, why men feel women are overly entitled, or why women feel men are abusive. That’s the point of these spaces—to bring up and explore these discussions anyway, which is exactly what I’ve done here. Don’t worry, I won’t bother asking why you wasted my time arguing over something so trivial, only to go in circles and end …

I'm not talking about attractiveness? Are you actually reading my comments? I'll repeat it just in case: Back in the day the majority of women didn’t have prestigious careers or high-paying jobs, so by default, they were marrying up. Objectively, the men were in a higher socio-economic status than their female partners which was all that really mattered. From that perspective, the woman’s feelings about it are irrelevant because, without that partnership, her quality of life would have been sign…

It’s when people chase hookups or relationships not because they genuinely want connection, but because it boosts their ego, makes them feel attractive, or gives them a sense of accomplishment. The problem is that this kind of validation is fleeting—it doesn’t address underlying insecurities or help with long-term self-esteem. Instead, it can create a cycle where someone constantly needs more external approval to feel okay, which pulls focus away from actual self-improvement.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/12/24 05:01 PM
1

Self-improvement and sex aren’t mutually exclusive, but for many, the pursuit of sex becomes a distraction. Chasing hookups or relationships often drains time, energy, and focus that could be spent on personal growth. It’s not just the act of sex—it’s the emotional toll, the validation-seeking, and the constant effort to impress others that can derail progress. For some, stepping away from sex entirely helps them focus on their goals without the added complications. Sure, some people can balance…

If a man steps away from dating, no one would know unless he shares his experience—something most people do about their lives. When he does, he’s often shamed for it. Online knows because the man said it. Men are allowed to talk about their sexuality or choices without being shamed for it. Crazy concept, right? I don’t care who it affects when I reject modern dating. I also don’t think society cares where one man puts his dick. I proposed celibacy as a potential solution for those struggling wit…

“It is becoming increasingly harder to find fulfillment from other spaces such as friends, community, etc., given the current culture.” I don’t disagree that building meaningful connections outside of romance is more challenging in today’s world. But saying “community is dead” feels more like a mindset than an absolute truth. While adult friendships require more effort due to work and distance, they’re still possible and valuable. Modern community might not look like it did in Ancient Greece, bu…

Lucky for you, this is r/PurplePillDebates—a space designed specifically for discussing gender-based topics that most people shy away from. You do understand the purpose of this community, right? Your question, “Why make it known online?” doesn’t make sense in this context. Why does anyone share their life experiences or beliefs online? That’s literally the point of forums like this. “If a dude stepped away from dating how would anyone know?” You’re proving my point by engaging in this thread. If no one cared, you wouldn’t be here critiquing the idea. Society shames men for opting out because dating and sex are tied to male worth. Men who step away are often labelled as incels, losers, or failures, even if they’ve made a conscious decision. That stigma exists whether a man announces his celibacy or not. The fact that you’re mocking the idea of stepping away is evidence enoug…

“It doesn't make sense to call my opinion/belief an ‘assumption.’” Fair enough, let’s call it a belief instead. But the belief that “no women equals loneliness” doesn’t universally hold true. While it might be the case for some men, it isn’t an absolute rule. Loneliness stems from a lack of meaningful connections, not necessarily romantic ones. Many men find emotional fulfilment outside of relationships—through friendships, family, or community—which can be just as impactful. “I think you’re vas…

I have no desire for women and again I do not need therapy. I only value platonic or emotional connections with people, particularly men. I 100% will do this permanently and we're VERY far apart if you're reading my comments and assume I need therapy. Men who step away from dating or sex often get labelled as “incels” or lazy, whether or not they’re vocal about it. Society, online and offline, tends to shame men for not participating in the dating game, as if their worth depends on their ability to attract women. The stigma exists even without men “shoving it in people’s faces." People care enough to chime in, mock, and question posts like this. The very fact that you’re engaging in this thread disproves your point. If no one cared, there wou…

Don't need it but thanks. It doesn’t have to be a permanent practice, but I do think every man needs a period where he says no to sex—especially if he’s spent too long saying yes to it. Think of it as a reset or a cleanse, giving him the time and space to refocus on himself and break free from unhealthy patterns that result from overvaluing female intimacy and validation. I will be doing it permanently however but to each their own.

Shaming happens all the time, whether overtly or subtly. Men who choose celibacy or step back from dating are often labeled as “incels” or failures, even if their decision is intentional and rooted in self-care. Just because you personally don’t care doesn’t mean society doesn’t have a stigma around men opting out of dating and sex. I am literally arguing with two women right now because they're bothered by post which is just advocating male celibacy. Something i assumed they'd be in support see…

Men are expected to initiate, plan, and pay for dates while constantly proving their worth. Women, on the other hand, often hold all the power in dating dynamics and bring disproportionate expectations to the table. The imbalance is clear when men have to compete for even a chance at basic consideration, while women can afford to be selective without much effort. That’s exhausting and one-sided. On platforms like Tinder, men swipe right (indicating interest) 46% of the time, whereas women do so …

It’s causing stress and frustration because modern dating is exhausting and one-sided. Even men who can get dates are frustrated by the effort required compared to what they get in return. This isn’t just about incels—it’s about a system that doesn’t work for a lot of men, full stop. Sure, you could focus on self-worth and personal growth while still hooking up with women, but let’s be real: dating and chasing intimacy often distracts from those goals. The time, energy, and mental strain it take…

Sorry but this is pure cope. Just because some average women might lower their standards to secure attention doesn’t mean entitlement isn’t present. Entitlement isn’t about success—it’s about expectation. Even if an average woman isn’t getting men to take her to fancy dinners or chase her on Instagram, the belief that men should initiate, pay, or make all the effort in dating is still there. It’s a mindset they've been brainwashed into. They can't fully help it. Many women—regardless of how much…

That’s a misunderstanding of what I’m promoting. Encouraging celibacy isn’t about giving up—it’s about stepping away from a system that’s causing stress and frustration for many men. Hopelessness comes from feeling trapped in a game where the odds are stacked against you. Choosing celibacy is the opposite of hopelessness; it’s a proactive decision to focus on self-worth, personal growth, and fulfillment outside of traditional dating dynamics. By rejecting the endless grind for validation and int…

The entitlement I’m talking about isn’t limited to attractive women—it’s present across the board, including average women. If we’re supposed to believe that plenty of below-average entitled men exist, then it’s only logical to acknowledge that a lot of average entitled women exist too. Entitlement isn’t exclusive to the top tier of attractiveness; it’s rooted in the shared mindset that men should always be the ones initiating, paying, and putting in more effort. This dynamic is made worse by th…

Ah, so that’s where the confusion lies. My goal is to encourage male celibacy for the benefit of men, plain and simple. It’s not about women. This conversation is focused on men taking control of their own lives and well-being, but of course, women like you have to make it about yourselves—just like this conversation has become. Interesting, though, how in your mind, the purpose of male celibacy is reduced to just “getting back at women.” That speaks volumes about your perspective, not mine.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/12/24 01:26 PM
2

Right, so this is what red pill ideology boils down to—working within a system you acknowledge as flawed, correct? Personally, I can’t get behind that. I don’t believe in balancing critique with pragmatism when the system itself is broken. Extremes are the only way we achieve real systemic change. Trying to find balance only disrupts the momentum needed for that change. That’s why I think encouraging mass celibacy is the better approach. It’s a clear rejection of the system, not an attempt to na…

But many men are stuck endlessly chasing, and I strongly recommend against that. This is the core of my argument. “hopefully” Yep dating relies far too much on luck and chance, which is exactly why I advise rejecting it altogether. It’s just not worth the trouble.

So you really see no issues with the current dating system—none at all? Respectfully, you red pillers are completely lost. Why so desperately cling to the status quo when it's super harmful?
/r/PurplePillDebate01/12/24 12:59 PM

Agreed. A bromance can be nearly as good as a relationship. Like I said true fulfilment comes from building a strong sense of self and fostering meaningful connections outside of romance. Not endlessly chasing women.

Huh? We’re talking about pre-feminism times. The majority of women didn’t have prestigious careers or high-paying jobs, so by default, they were marrying up. Objectively, the men were in a higher socio-economic status than their female partners. From that perspective, the woman’s feelings about it are irrelevant because, without that partnership, her quality of life would have been significantly lower. This is where we disagree, because I don’t see a significant difference in mindset between average and attractive women. Feminism—which I believe is a net positive—has provided all women in the West with a safety net, allowing them to set any standards they want, even if those standards don’t necessarily align with their own value. Society loudly reinforces the idea that they’re better off single, and many women fully embrace this. While this isn’t inherently bad, it has created a certain entitl…

Another weak point. I’m genuinely curious why, as a woman, you feel the need to argue with me about this. I’m a man encouraging other men to consider celibacy—a choice that, if anything, is a net positive for women, many of whom are choosing celibacy themselves. So, what exactly about my stance is bothering you? My theory is that the idea of fewer spineless, programmed men in the dating scene bothers women like you because it threatens the advantage you currently have simply by being female. Men…

So the solution is to just give up and let biology dictate everything? Sounds like a cop-out. No, we can change this through social conditioning. We need to normalize and encourage celibacy, showing men they don’t need to endlessly grind for female intimacy and validation. Men need to know there’s another way—one that prioritises mental health and fulfilment over chasing a system that’s clearly broken.

You’re making the same assumption many other red-pilled men do: that “no women” equals loneliness. That’s simply not true. Men without a strong social circle are better off building meaningful friendships rather than jumping straight into finding a life partner. Any push for celibacy always gets twisted into “inceldom” by people like you. Why is it so hard to accept that the current dating culture is toxic for a lot of men? Some of us would rather focus on being happily single than waste energy playing a game that’s rigged. Not everyone needs to chase intimacy to feel fulfilled.

I get the point you’re trying to make, but the articles you linked don’t really change anything. The first one just shows that celibacy—whether by choice or not—is already a reality for some people. Instead of shaming it or treating it like a failure, why not encourage it as a valid option for men who are burned out by the dating system? The second article might suggest things are “rebounding,” but so what? A slight increase in sex rates doesn’t magically fix the fact that modern dating is a mes…

I think this applies to both groups because they share the same struggle: placing too much importance on female validation and intimacy as key goals. The real question is, what impact are these “goals” having on their mental health? Is the chase truly worth the effort they’re putting into it? And is there a healthier, more fulfilling alternative they could pursue instead?

When I read comments like yours, I’m reminded how often people equate “not being around women” with loneliness. Family, friends, and even coworkers can easily fill that gap, often with no barriers to entry. These connections can be just as fulfilling as a romantic relationship, if not more so, given the effort required to maintain one. When you compare the payoff to the stress and energy of modern dating, prioritising other relationships seems like a no-brainer to me. We should be encouraging me…

That’s true to some extent—many men are motivated to enter the dating world by a desire to avoid celibacy. However, my point is to reframe celibacy as a valid solution to the struggles men face in modern dating, rather than something to escape. Instead of encouraging men to keep participating in a system that clearly impacts their mental well-being, we should promote stepping back and reassessing priorities. At some point, the societal programming that ties men’s self-worth to chasing women has …

Guys like me aren’t blaming women. I’m not interested in them, and I’m certainly not foolish enough to tie their validation and intimacy to my self-worth, which is what most guys in the current dating system seem to do. That’s exactly why I disagree with the premise of your post—the real solution is to opt out of the system entirely, not dive headfirst into a game you can’t win without sacrificing your individuality and conforming to women’s expectations. You’re advocating to maintain the status…

If we keep engaging in the dating system as it currently stands, we’re propping it up and preventing the change it desperately needs. Sometimes, taking extreme measures is the only way to force meaningful progress, even if that change only happens generations from now. Sacrificing intimacy and female validation might be necessary for some of us to make that shift. If we could find a way to reward and encourage male celibacy, it could be a significant step toward creating a better system. Also wh…

My view is, why are we "competing" in the first place? Is the value a woman brings to the table in dating really worth that much effort? Whether she’s average or not, there’s a prevailing mindset among modern women that often means the effort required will be similar across the board. Men need to collectively ask themselves: is the juice truly worth the squeeze? Personally, I don’t think it is.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/12/24 10:58 AM
1

Some solid points here, but the core issue remains men’s constant need for female validation/intimacy, which this approach doesn’t necessarily address. My view is that we need to focus on breaking that dependency first, so men can avoid chasing relationships to their own detriment—whether it’s harming their mental health, financial stability, or overall well-being
/r/PurplePillDebate01/12/24 10:37 AM
2

Not breaking news, no, but the difference is that men are increasingly opting out rather than enduring a system that doesn’t work for them. Women in the West generally benefit more from the current system than men and also have the safety net of feminism to rely on if they choose to opt-out. If dating has always been bad for women, it’s clear the system needs a complete reset for everyone—not just a dismissive “deal with it” attitude.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/12/24 10:30 AM
1

You couldn’t even work or hold prestigious/high-paying careers back then, so I’m not sure how your argument holds up. Objectively, you were all punching up, as you were "forced" to date men far outside your socio-economic status.
/r/PurplePillDebate01/12/24 10:27 AM
3

This works better for people who don’t already feel burned out or frustrated with the dating scene. For others, it’s not that simple—modern dating can still feel like a grind, even with a laid-back approach. Celibacy helps with focusing on things that actually feel fulfilling and if a relationship happens later, great, but the focus shifts away from constantly trying or hoping for it.

It doesn’t feel worth it because the effort dedicated to modern dating often outweighs the rewards. Even men who can succeed are stepping away because they find the system draining and unfulfilling. You guys aren't worth the trouble or effort. In other words the juice isn't worth the squeeze.

If someone can’t get anyone, that’s involuntary celibacy, which isn’t the same as what I’m talking about. This is a conscious decision to stop putting energy into a system that doesn’t feel worth it. It’s not a “cope” or “giving up”—it’s deciding to prioritize personal growth and peace over chasing something that isn’t fulfilling. Trying to “improve your dating game” is fine if you think it’ll work for you, but not everyone wants to keep playing the game at all. Your attitude is a great way to b…

Well said

But that’s not what this is about. Choosing celibacy isn’t about reacting to rejection; it’s about stepping back and realising the party wasn’t worth going to in the first place. For a lot of men, it’s a way to take control of their energy and focus on building something meaningful in their own lives.

Right... I'll take your word for it.

That's clearly not working...
/r/PurplePillDebate30/11/24 07:43 PM

That's a good point. Working to destroy sex as a sole obsession but I still think the best way to do that is celibacy. A clean break and mind reset.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/11/24 07:39 PM

Rejecting relationships and dating doesn’t necessarily require celibacy, and the alternatives you mentioned—casual relationships, FWB, sex work, or going overseas—can work for some. However, these options still tie a man’s time, energy, or self-worth to external validation or intimacy. Celibacy offers a more complete reset, focusing entirely on personal growth and fulfilment without relying on these dynamics. It’s not the only path, but it’s a distinct and effective one for those seeking a clean…

Not following the “rules” of the dating game is an option, but the pressures and expectations of modern dating culture still impact many men. Also, I am not sure how successful dating would be for a man who chooses to ignore these rules entirely. In a way, choosing celibacy is also a form of rejecting the rules of the game. It’s one of the last things society expects a single man to do—especially voluntarily.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/11/24 07:34 PM
5

Maybe i misunderstood you but my post isn’t about marriage or family law. It’s about the frustrations of modern dating and how celibacy offers a way to reclaim personal peace and self-worth. While those issues are valid, they’re outside the scope of what I was addressing
/r/PurplePillDebate30/11/24 07:31 PM
6

The point of celibacy isn’t to avoid growth but to redirect energy toward meaningful self-improvement. It’s a choice to step back from a system that feels draining and focus on building a fulfilling life—not an excuse for stagnation. Some men desperately need reprogramming to stop tying their self-worth to female validation and their mental state to female intimacy. Celibacy creates the space to achieve that.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/11/24 07:28 PM
9

Exactly so let's encourage it instead of justifying some men's toxic desperation for sex with "it's biology" and moving on.

Sorry it's just this is weird to hear from a purple pill dude.

To what extent, though? Men who constantly pursue sex—whether by chasing it and failing, leading to depression, or by draining their wallets on sex workers—should, in my opinion, be encouraged to embrace celibacy. These urges, while natural, are clearly harmful to them, and justifying them on the basis of biology or "natural instincts" ignores the damage they cause. Will they actually do it? Can they even do it? Unlikely—but it’s worth normalising the idea enough to start breaking some of this h…

Comments like this concern me because they make me wonder how long you’ll continue to stick your head in the sand and dismiss the very real narratives and critiques about modern dating and the growing loneliness it causes. It’s easy to act like everything is fine because your social circle is doing well, but these issues won’t go away—they’ll only get worse. Eventually, even people like you won’t be able to ignore them when they start affecting you or those around you. And honestly, I don’t even…

Fit and confident men are typically sought after by fit and confident women. However, there seems to be an increasing trend of average or below-average individuals, both men and women, expecting to attract such high-value partners. In the past, people with fewer desirable traits didn’t expect high-value partners. They either settled for someone within their league or worked to improve themselves to attract better options. Today, media, technology, and cultural shifts have fueled unrealistic expe…

Fair point, celibacy isn’t for everyone. The post is aimed at men who feel frustrated by modern dating and are seeking an alternative. It’s about presenting a choice, not enforcing it. Many men might resist the idea because they’ve been conditioned by societal norms, but what they “want” isn’t always what’s best for their long-term well-being...

No, my issue is systemic which goes beyond male entitlement and physical fitness. Modern dating doesn't work in its current form. Not sure how anyone can confidently disagree with that unless you're from an older generation.

Labelling anyone who critiques modern dating as an "incel" or "redpill type" is lazy and shuts down real discussion. Criticising the state of dating today doesn’t mean someone "hates women"; it means they see a system that’s increasingly transactional and shallow. The fact that this critique bothers you says more about your unwillingness to address the deeper issues than it does about the men raising them. Yes, self-improvement matters, but your "just fix yourself" approach completely ignores th…

Your perspective hinges on a very narrow and arguably toxic view of modern dating standards. The fact that you see "going to the gym," "having a cool Instagram," and "selling a lifestyle" as the core metrics for dating success highlights just how transactional and image-driven modern dating has become. That’s not a reflection of healthy relationships or meaningful connections—it’s a reflection of a culture that prioritises appearances over substance. The reality is that many men are rejecting th…

The way this question is framed essentially traps anyone who answers "yes" into being perceived as a porn addict, which is why we end up with comments like yours. "Porn-rotted," huh? By all means, enlighten me on the subtle nuances between someone "porn-rotted" and a so-called "degenerate." Do you genuinely believe that everyone who consumes porn automatically becomes a degenerate? For most men, porn isn’t the barrier between them and a perfect relationship; the real issue is emotional maturity, personal accountability, and how they approach relationships in the first place.

The issue isn’t about being nasty; it’s about the fact that any honest critique of women, even when expressed calmly and respectfully, often gets dismissed or labelled as misogyny. Sure, extreme bitterness isn’t helpful, but telling men they’ll be ‘well accepted’ if they just admit their loneliness or insecurity is naive. The moment they share those vulnerabilities, they’re often mocked or dismissed anyway. The problem isn’t tone; it’s that men aren’t given the same space to air grievances witho…

Their view seems to be that there are "healthy" ways to discuss women's faults, but the reality is, no matter how tactful or censored the conversation, it inevitably gets branded as misogyny. This is precisely why male-only spaces are necessary. Without them, men risk being gaslit into the delusion that women are flawless, a mindset that arises when any critique of them is automatically dismissed as bigotry.

/r/PurplePillDebate27/11/24 06:15 PM

You’re completely missing the point. Focusing on one rare exception like women attending singles events doesn’t suddenly make women "big on initiating." Unless you’re seriously going to argue that women initiate as often as men or face the same level of rejection, stop pretending this is an equal playing field. Move on.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/11/24 06:04 PM
2

Exactly. Celibacy is the only logical path. Let the programmed men, desperate for female validation and intimacy, scramble and compete like their lives depend on it. Truly, what an incredible existence to aspire to!
/r/PurplePillDebate27/11/24 05:54 PM
2

Correct. We measure how easy rejection is to handle by weighing the potential rewards on the other side of said failure. Constant rejection from women offers very little tangible benefit, unlike jobs or home buying, where the effort and rejection are tied to clear, worthwhile outcomes. That’s why this hits men so hard—it’s a frustrating, often fruitless cycle, which is why it’s such a common topic of discussion. The juice is not worth the squeeze.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/11/24 05:45 PM

If you say so but the conversation is about rejection which men will have a bigger experience with therefore...apathy.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/11/24 05:39 PM

You didn’t need to make that comparison because it’s fundamentally flawed, as I’ve already explained. Rejection from a job is easier to accept because the potential rewards—a career, stability, and financial independence—make the effort worthwhile. Rejection from women, however, is much harder to stomach because what they offer isn’t remotely comparable in value. You’re right, though—men should stop chasing female validation. It’s pointless and overvalued, and unfortunately, society has taught u…
/r/PurplePillDebate27/11/24 05:32 PM

I disagree. Apathy doesn't necessarily mean inaction or a lack of care—it can mean detachment from outcomes, which can actually encourage action without the weight of expectations. Enjoyment is great, but fulfillment often comes from purpose and meaning, not just fleeting pleasure.
/r/PurplePillDebate27/11/24 05:29 PM
3

I disagree. Letting go of concern for the outcome frees you from the fear of failure or rejection, which in turn allows you to genuinely enjoy the experience itself. Apathy.

Oh god... the value a job holds absolutely obliterates any perceived "value" a woman could bring. A job provides independence, purpose, stability, and builds your future—tangible, lasting benefits. Sure, jobs can be demanding, but they don’t ghost you, play mind games, or make you jump through hoops for approval without any guarantee of commitment. That’s why rejection for a job is far easier to handle for most men—you know there’s a process, a meritocracy of sorts, and another opportunity aroun…

Women do face rejection, but it’s not remotely the same as what men deal with. Men are expected to initiate almost every interaction, putting them in positions where rejection is constant and often brutal. Women benefit from societal privileges in the dating world, like having more options and being actively pursued. Pretending these experiences are equal is simpl…

I haven't seen any threatening or violent posts on any "toxic male" subreddits, and if there have been then the moderators and the community have had them taken down themselves. If there was the same type of intolerance towards violent rhetoric within the femcel subreddits, maybe they wouldn't have been banned.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/11/24 10:25 PM
4

Context matters, sure, but it's often used as an excuse to avoid accountability. The context of hateful or toxic comments doesn’t make them acceptable, and dismissing them as jokes or satire doesn’t change their impact. If you're going to demand accountability from one group, you can't ignore it in another just because it’s convenient. I don't understand why you people (femcels) keep trying to argue this. You look like shit every time you do.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/11/24 10:15 PM

Is this part where we pretend that in the vastness of the internet, there aren't any violent femcel communities currently operating? Also, plenty of anti-female subreddits have been taken down so it goes both ways.

Wow. This doesn’t reflect well on you, but hey, to each their own. I’m guessing you don’t actually believe this—it’s just your take for the sake of being right in this moment. Hate is never ok but you can disagree with that if you want... And women like you expect empathy from men? What a joke...
/r/PurplePillDebate23/11/24 10:10 PM
12

Hopefully taken down? I avoid that kind of stuff because running toward a problem just to cry and complain about it isn’t one of my hobbies—unlike it seems to be for some other groups of people.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/11/24 10:04 PM

i don't know but that's the excuse given with "kill all men". But since women aren't killing men I guess that makes it ok.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/11/24 10:02 PM
2

That quote is a lazy deflection and doesn't address the issue. Hate is hate, no matter who it comes from. Excusing toxic behaviour from women by framing it as 'just a joke' or 'satire' is hypocritical and undermines any claim to moral high ground. If you're going to criticize men for turning a blind eye to their own toxic behaviour, then women need to be held to the same standard. Accountability shouldn't depend on gender
/r/PurplePillDebate23/11/24 10:00 PM

So it's ok then? Hate is only okay when it doesn't lead to violence? It's either all ok or none of it is. Pick a stance.

Why is it that every time a femcel woman makes violent or hateful comments about men, it's dismissed as 'just a joke' or 'satire'? You're so afraid to hold each other accountable for being terrible. It's hard to take the moral high ground when so many of you turn a blind eye to the toxic behaviour of femcels, just as men often do with their own.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/11/24 09:55 PM

"kill all men" is a call to violence. There goes that point...

Okay, but we can’t just willingly fall victim to that mindset and act like we have no control over it whatsoever. Just because something is natural doesn’t mean it’s logical or beneficial. We have more influence over our desires and mindsets than some people are willing to admit, but it’s easier to just blame our biological design as if that absolves us of responsibility. The only way to develop solutions that move men forward instead of backwards is by recognising that our 'natural' desires don…

/r/PurplePillDebate20/11/24 04:08 PM
1

That's partially true, but it's well-established that our desires often work against us and don’t align with reality. The desire for female intimacy and validation, while natural, can often become unhealthy for men. It can lead to misplaced priorities, low self-worth, or even depression when it’s not fulfilled, especially in a society that massively overemphasises its importance in defining a man’s value. Recognising this is key to breaking free from those negative patterns.

I've gone 21 years without [female intimacy], and honestly, I'm far more concerned—or even 'depressed'—about my lack of career options than the absence of intimacy or validation from women. One actually affects my life and holds real value, while the other feels more like a fantasy. I understand that you can't control what you want, but I struggle to see why it's impacting you so deeply to the point of depression. It's unlikely that having a woman by your side would lead to a drastic improvement…

You make a fair point that collective celibacy would be nearly impossible to enforce, and I agree that "bros before hoes" is more of a fictional ideal than a reality. But that doesn't mean the idea behind it—encouraging men to rethink their priorities and self-worth—should be dismissed as naïve. The core issue here isn't just men's availability but the societal conditioning that ties male self-worth to female validation. If more men genuinely worked to detach their sense of value from the pursui…

The value you perceive in them isn't real, nor is it beneficial to you. Take them off this pedestal. You’re feeling depressed because your self-worth as a man is tied to external validation—namely, from women. Surely, you can see that this isn't a healthy mindset? You can't keep hiding behind the excuse of "nature"; the human world operates a bit differently. While your intense desire for female intimacy and validation might stem from natural instincts, it's definitely not healthy if it’s drivin…

To be more specific, I propose that we, as a society, encourage men to embrace celibacy and work to eliminate any part of themselves that craves female validation and intimacy. Unfortunately, there’s no easy way out of this. The alternative is to continue down the same path we’ve been on for decades—tolerating a system that isn’t designed for us to succeed and pretending that everything is fine.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/11/24 11:23 PM

Right. This doesn't sound very significant so as I said this is becoming an extremely weaker point that you guys continue to hang on to so dearly...

A movement would be preferable because the issue is far more complex than how you’re presenting it. It’s worth noting that women likely wouldn’t have made as much progress addressing their societal challenges if they had been as lax about them as we tend to be. That said, I do agree that sexual discipline and emotional intelligence are areas where many of us men are severely lacking.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/11/24 09:45 PM

Just not sure what point your 'wage gap' comment holds if you acknowledge no one can sustain the traditional lifestyle of a single income. It doesn't matter who makes more at this point. Again you can't use that excuse anymore so stop bringing it up.

We don’t have to follow that narrative, but you can’t deny that the opposite has been the prevailing message for quite some time. Feminism has empowered women to break free from traditional programming, which is fantastic. However, men are still largely victims of that same conditioning and no is no real movement to help us break free from it. We’ve become too available, too desperate, and too tolerant of behaviours and systems that negatively affect us. In an ideal world, more men would choose …

You view women as people yet lack female validation/intimacy so much you're depressed... If you truly viewed them as people and therefore equals you wouldn't overvalue them to this extent.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/11/24 09:08 PM

Simply put, when a woman earns more than her partner, you're often dealing with someone who is hyper-independent and may not prioritise healthy relationship dynamics. There's often an ego factor at play when women out-earn their partners, which you seem to be conveniently overlooking. This issue isn't as one-sided as you make it out to be.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/11/24 09:05 PM

"Part of that is just men still just make more than women" As the years go on this is becoming a weaker and weaker point in the west and starting to sound more like an excuse/cop out...

I simply can't fathom why any dude would be willing to play this 'game'. The expectation is for men to act like they're in a fair system where the deck isn't stacked against them, when it most certainly is. And if they don't pretend that reality doesn't exist, it's considered unattractive.
/r/PurplePillDebate19/11/24 08:54 PM

We're simply too available. The only solution I see to this is pretty radical and not realistic.

When you lack sexual discipline—which usually develops through experience with the opposite sex, something many men don’t have much of—it’s an unfortunate but predictable outcome.

If you're a woman in the West or a developed nation, the concept of being "disposable" simply doesn't apply. Stop conflating your struggles with the very real hardships faced by women in less developed parts of the world, where life can genuinely be precarious and unforgiving. You're not victims—you just desperately want to see yourselves as such. Not anymore.

People need an effective motivator to take that risk and at least for a lot of guys that motivator isn't there. In other words, the juice isn't worth the squeeze.

"Be the change you want to see in the world"—that's what it really comes down to. I'm not satisfied with the way things are, so I choose to adjust my own behaviour. Maybe, just maybe, I set an example for other men, and change happens over time, even if it's unlikely. I'm not going to simply accept or give in to a system that seems designed to work against me. You can though!
/r/PurplePillDebate19/11/24 11:37 AM

I strongly disagree, especially with that last statement. It feels like a cop-out, and I can't respect that perspective. Clearly, you and I see this issue very differently. The existence of asexual and aromantic people demonstrates to me that the human mind is incredibly malleable and varied, which suggests that this so-called "DNA programming" can absolutely be challenged and overcome. Human behaviour and identity are far too complex to be boiled down to biological imperatives. Maybe it’s easie…

Then I'll adopt it myself. Simple. You're right not everyone can fight against societal programming.

Women, in general, are overvalued because, unfortunately, average men are NOT going 50/50 with average women. Like I said, everyone deserves 50/50—nothing more, nothing less—because none of them are special enough to warrant anything else. If you want to reward a woman just for taking care of herself, by all means, go ahead—but you’re part of the problem. The bar is in hell for them because of men like you.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/11/24 01:51 PM

Or just view all women with a healthy level of skepticism, the same way women often view men, and don’t fall for this “all women are perfect” nonsense that so many are programmed to believe. Simple.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/11/24 01:47 PM

I'd rather we didn't just adapt to the unpleasantness and thought to change it...

"Women enjoy playful conversation and do not like men who suck-up to them." That's debatable, especially considering how many women expect men to provide for them financially. It's usually the spineless men who cave into these expectations and suck up to them. No other kind of man would willingly accept an 80/20 relationship dynamic.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/11/24 01:40 PM
3

I don’t get why it’s an “ugly truth.” Women want an old, spineless man to shoulder them financially, and I’m like, okay, you do you, but not me though.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/11/24 01:37 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate16/11/24 01:18 PM

Yes every woman. Men like you often make the mistake of overvaluing them, deluding yourselves into believing it's your responsibility to provide for them. This mindset makes no financial sense, especially in the West, where women earn comparable incomes. Wake up—you're being programmed.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/11/24 01:16 PM

Hell no. Every woman deserves nothing more than 50/50. True equality.

So, your life is significantly affected without female companionship? That’s really sad, man. Women don’t hold as much value as you seem to believe, and guys like you just end up making us all look bad. You don't need them as much as you think.

Jesus this is sad. They wouldn't have given you the same courtesy if you were in their position. I hope you know that. They shouldn't be dating if they're broke and unemployed. Simple. Men need to develop a backbone or entitled women are just going to continue to grow in number

Unfortunately, that's the 'game'. No way to change it unless most of us decide not to play.

Hard disagree with that last statement. Men have been told for generations to "forge their own path", but that "path" was really just a form of subtle conditioning. Society has long defined this path through rigid gender roles that pushed men into the same mould: build a stable career, be the provider, and protect their families. Rather than genuine freedom, men were expected to follow this predetermined path, with little room for personal choice or deviation. And ironically, achieving or aspiri…

How pathetic of a man are you that your purpose is tied up to... a woman? Truly sad.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/24 11:22 AM

This narrative is risky for men because the lengths they go to in pursuit of a 'good' relationship often become undeniably toxic. In the end, the process tends to take more than it gives, making the effort simply not worth it.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/24 11:19 AM
1

Seeing how women NEEDED a whole 50-year-long movement to get rid of that mindset it shouldn't be that surprising men still think this way... The only solution is for the world to encourage men to be single instead of trying to demonise it so we all keep slaving away for women when it clearly holds no benefit to play this pathetic game.

The juice just isn’t worth the squeeze, and hopefully, more men start to see that. I don’t get why we’re expected to engage in something that’s stacked against us and often leaves us worse off. Like you said, it’s a game – one most of us don’t want to play or probably shouldn’t even be playing. Until the rules change (which they likely won’t, since that would mean women giving up their dating advantages), more and more men will continue to opt out as they should.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/11/24 08:25 PM

The sad fact is if we are to reprogram men and stop us from relying on these harmful gender roles a lot of us will have to sacrifice certain things to do so like a life full of intimacy.
