Plus one on color theory. I have a female friend who is very stylish who studied art. I pick her brain often. She spent about 5 minutes explaining color theory to me. I bought a color wheel on her recommendation. I use it about 3-4 times a week when picking out clothes, ties, jackets, etc. It helps to explain why many combos look good at first blush.

One other thing , I've stopped responding to most of the stuff I feel she's saying just to get a reaction . Now she asks why I ignore some of the things she says . How would you handle this? "Sometimes you say things to me just to get a reaction. I ignore them because I'm not interested in drama."

Problem: "Stop talking to me like a fucking therapist" Interpretation: "I don't know how to manipulate you when you do that, so I'll order you to stop." Solution: "I'll talk any way that I want (chuckle)." Be sure to add the real life equivalent of an LOL, like her anger is not fazing you.

If a man gives up his honor for a woman, she may pretend to continue to love him, but her love will already be dead.... Can you explain this or give examples? "Honor" has so many meanings.

You're right, i should have helped. I would fog it differently. My broken record would be more like, "You're right. I didn't lift a finger to help you with this crap." For me, the excessive X-mas crap is crap, and I'm not afraid to say it. And if I made the decision to let her have to handle the excessive X-mas crap by herself, I'd own that decision too. Maybe next time I offer to help, she'll decide to accept. Or not. Her problem, her decision.

Spousal unit then doubles down, deeply offended I don't take her seriously, "this is why people don't tell you things." Yes. And if you don't continue to not GAF, you are essentially training her to escalate when she doesn't get her way. It's frustrating to read a FR where a guy DGAF about getting some shit from the wife, but then reports what "she says" in response (which clearly upset him) to his not giving AF as evidence that she "still won" or that "this stuff doesn't work on my wife". Maybe…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
