When you're trying to get an idea of what your girlfriend talking to her misandrist roommate is thinking, present social norms play an important role. The claim that this is a women's issue is a largely false position. But the increase over women, the percentage gap used to account for the bias in the report, isn't always 88% for every crime. They're getting an 88% increase across all crimes on average. Crime by crime it can either be smaller or higher as set out in your summary here or in the original source.
