The only true fundamental failure in pickup is to not approach. There was a very encouraging post recently about this, which described how once you have approached, you have already moved beyond failure. Perhaps you can find it in the subreddit. That being said, don’t beat yourself up. The worst thing to ever do when you’re trying to improve in anything is to feel guilt or shame. You need to acknowledge that you failed because you didn’t approach, but the next step is to feel determined (by your…

Gotcha, I still have a few qualms with this mentality, but I’ll just put that down to personal character differences. And I definitely agree with the major points. Thanks for elaborating.

Thanks for posting this! It is a great read. One thing I worry about is the very very fine line between vulnerability and insecurity. When you open up to a woman emotionally, it needs to be with confidence and the intent of showing your true humanity without seeking support, but I feel like showing your emotionally weak spots could very easily come across as not being masculine and feeling insecure, needing someone to offload onto. Any thoughts?

All makes sense! Thanks for all the advice. I look forward to putting it into action.

Great stuff. Particularly interested in your point about sexuality in the conversation. If the girl is laughing at every remark, is it still displaying a form of desperation by making sexual jokes very frequently? If I had to give my guess I’d say intent is quite important (and in my case I think I ought to reduce the jokes because I prioritize comedy too much to try make myself feel like I’m doing things right in the interaction + as a result when my jokes don’t land it really throws me off lik…

Ah! My favourite advice giver. Good to see you here. I only somewhat agree with your 1st point. My life is going very well, albeit I’ve only recently made the major changes that have made it really good so I could understand that I need to let these good things really develop and become concrete before the indirect results (i.e. abolishing desperation) really take shape. This of course carries onto point 2. I wholeheartedly agree to work on one’s self before looking at these issues. I suppose fo…

We definitely are experiencing very similar things by the sounds of it and as a result I’m very curious how you feel about what I say next: My overwhelming sense of satisfaction when it comes to seduction is cracking 9’s and 10’s. I can’t help but feel that consistently going for 7’s is like failing. Do you feel that way at all? I can’t help but try and crack a 9/10 on a night out if there is one (as long as they’re still a pleasant person). And then as a result that pull either works or it does…

I’m certainly (just) beginning to get in that motivated mindset and after reading your comment I can see how it is developing and the potential that it has. Also, taking away masturbation as an easy way out really is fundamental in my mind. Thanks for your reply.

I appreciate it. See my reply to Juanpi Casti if interested. Thanks for your reply.

Nice to get a cold hard science perspective on this. I agree, I really need to get in my head and solidify the fact that a girl being “special” is still in itself not special at all. Thanks for the reply.

Procedure: I’m a pretty attractive guy and I live by all of the high quality advice in this subreddit. That being said, I am by no means trying to paint myself as a seduction master. My attitude just involves only going for well responding girls and not bothering with flakey ones. I can often go weeks without a solid interaction (or many nights out not bothering to pull) so don’t think because of that “95%” that I am drowning in success. I suppose put simply it’s a quality over quantity issue, h…

I can definitely see the merit in this and it’s an interesting alternative perspective. Thanks for your comment.

Definitely true, I don’t mean to play myself up with this post - I am not a seduction guru by any means. I just go for girls that I get good vibes off and don’t bother with the really flakey ones. That has led to that “95%” figure (which in reality is of course a generous estimate). But yes, I’ve certainly lost plenty of decent girls, but it’s alright because they really wouldn’t have done anything special for me. Thanks for the comment.

Well put and I definitely agree. I do believe this sort of mentality is hard to really secure though. Reminding one’s self and maintaining abundance is, I suppose, the way to go. Thanks for the comment.

100% without a doubt, your theory is accurate if you wanted to capture this situation in a general sense - however there have been enough outliers on the attractive side of the equation (i.e. objectively highly attractive girls who I just didn’t like something about) where the contrast in ease of pull was so stark that it has now really raised my attention. Because I didn’t really care about these girls, it was far easier to pull, and I’m wondering if this gain in ease is something that I can me…

Yeah I definitely am noting that abundance is key. Very eloquent last point and it’s something I need to work on. I’m aware that I don’t need any one girl, but even still I definitely want some of them too much. Thanks for the response.

Yeah, this could definitely help. I think I’d find it a bit difficult but I can’t say I’ve tried yet. I have however headed somewhat in that direction before when mentally taking girls off pedestals. Thanks for the advice.

I can fully get in line with this. Glad to say I’m already underway with not masturbating. Thanks for the well put response.

I actually wondered about fapping, I’ve been taking a break and ever since, I’ve noticed a return in “butterflies” i.e. heightened nerves and tension when meeting girls I especially liked, I missed having that feeling as I believe it is quite healthy and natural however now that it has returned I have realised it can be quite a hindrance. A balance of feeling excited emotion while having the capacity for proper composure and outcome independence is definitely the goal. I do of course typically c…

It is definitely is to do with being more needy. Thanks for giving some advice on how to counter it, makes sense.
