I keep a list of meals (just the names) on the fridge. 30 dinners and about 15 lunches/breakfasts each. Sometimes, just looking over the names sparks a reminder that I haven't made that in a while, and keeps me from getting in a rut. They are also recipes that I know the family likes and I either can make without a recipe, or have handy.

I think this goes hand-in-hand with the idea that as wife/mother, I set the tone (attitude) for the whole household. The ugly version is,"If momma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy." But the balance is that I can choose to create an atmosphere of peace, respect & happiness regardless of what's going on around me.

It took into my mid-20s for me to realize that the things I thought made me strong really made me weak.

Not wanting children doesn't make me sad. Making the decision permanent so young does.

This makes me so sad. 22 is way too young to make such a permanent decision.

I love Aqua de Gio. I've been tempted to follow a few random strangers home who were wearing it. Old Spice reminds me of my father (good thing!). A few scents are off-limits b/c of brothers/ex-boyfriend, etc... But my favorite man smell is armpit. Not full on BO, but the sweat smell over the deodorant (any kind). Just smells like man/work/sex. God, I miss that.

This is the most important reply thus far. Looking back is vitally important...when it is done with introspection and honesty. You must accept the reality of your choices, b/c the consequences are the consequences. You don't get to change those. But you do get to change yourself, and then you look forward.

Good advice so far. Remember that your deep need to feel loved by him is matched by his deep need to feel respected by you. Often times, women think that their man should love them just because and unconditionally, but they only need to respect the man if he deserves it. Not so. Regardless of how you feel at the moment, show him with your words, actions and most importantly attitude that you respect him. Love and Respect by Emmerson Eggerichs is a really good book that explains the love/respect …

I love to sew, but I burnt out after I declared a homemade/handmade Christmas. Maybe I'll be ready again this autumn... I like to knit, but I'm not very good. I think I'm too tense, b/c I always end up with such tight stitches that I can barely get the needle through after a few rows! My favorite comfort hobby is cooking. Baking and gardening are the runners-up.

Great list. But I always gets compliments on my low voice and how sexy it is. I sound completely retarded when I try to make my voice higher.

Now I'm almost embarrassed to admit my INTJness. Feel like I'm jumping on the bandwagon cuz it's cool. I had to take the Myers-Brigg professionally twice. Clear INTJ both times. But I have softened a lot over the years, and I take no pleasure in spouting superiority or rolling in my introversion. I also wish I had lived less as an island during my 20s and early 30s. Had I told even one close friend about my husband's (now obvious) mental issues, I probably wouldn't have stayed too long. But my d…

This is fabulous! I've found some great similar resources for my pre-teen daughter, but it's hard to find anything online geared towards adult women that isn't steeped in feminism. The closest resources I've found are focused far more on the wife/mother aspect of femininity and ignore the me-time part. Also, the palatable feminine blogs I frequent tend to be written by your typical Quiverful Homeschool mom who thinks jeans-jumpers embroidered with Pooh Bear are the epitome of fashion. I mean, I …

I haven't read Fascinating Womanhood. I'll pick it up at the library next time I'm there. I read The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands, and think it is fabulous. Not perfect, but a really good primer and a lot of hard truths. A decent introduction, especially for someone who wants a Christian perspective is Love & Respect by Emmerson Eggerichs. But The Surrendered Wife is the best of the bunch, me thinks.

I know MANY people in that group. And most of the marriages are beautiful and definitely TRP. However, the problem is that the few that desperately need to end hang on for far too long (raises hand sheepishly). I've even known pastors that counseled wives to stay (my only experience has been with the wives, may very well have gone both ways) when there was sexual abuse of the children, homosexual partners being brought into the marital home, etc... Obviously the rare exception (although there is…

The thing I miss most about being married, besides sex, is serving a man. I love my kids, but they will never appreciate the service I give them the way that a man does. And it doesn't satisfy me in the same way. There is such honor and joy in being a comfort to a man who has worked hard all day. Looking good, making him a delicious meal, getting him a drink before he asks for one, and listening to his problems before spewing your own. How on earth we came to a place where it is considered degra…

Zucchini chips are a great way to use those garden extras, too. Or sweet potato chips when you just can't resist the B1G1 bags of yams after Thanksgiving, but don't feel like making another sweet potato casserole. Love the Tomato Mozzarella salad. Only thing I do differently is add some fresh basil.

Every once in a while, I'll see a tatted-up guy and find it hot, but usually they just look like they're trying too hard.

I'd argue that a full-on beta male taking orders from his wife is just as pathetic, but I don't disagree with this post. It's truth. As Steinbeck said, "There is more beauty in truth, even if it is a dreadful beauty."

The thoughtless selfish dick can mask as Alpha, though, until you scratch the surface. Not sure what the correct term for a false Alpha is... My ex presents as an Alpha. He is a former Marine who is very stoic, very confident, direct and rugged. He truly seemed to be a leader. But he is deeply insecure and needy, has absolutely no self-control, and prefers to be taken care of instead of leading. There were plenty of warnings, and I've spent enough time looking in the mirror to own my own shortco…

Interesting. I'm 3.5 years post-partum, and have finally fully tightened up, but I had a good decade of baby-making where I was not really ever tight in the sense this article implies. Everyone on the outside always complimented me on how amazing I looked, b/c I dropped the obvious weight very quickly, but my ex was often very unhappy with my body (even when I was under 110 lbs). It was always this exact lack of tightness that he complained about...

/margerym is spot on here. This is your problem, not his. I empathize, because I am a lifelong insomniac, but it also seems like you could benefit from adjusting your mindset about this whole thing. A bad attitude is poison, especially when you are trying to sleep. Focusing on your frustration, resentment and anger only perpetuate them. There is some great advice on this thread about how to combat the actual insomnia (although staying up later has always worked better for me than going to be ear…

Thanks. I am sorry, because I love being a wife and I think marriage is something to fight for and should be lifelong. But I'm also not, b/c he was so utterly toxic and the sense of relief has been almost overwhelming. Thankfully, I had swallowed the Red Pill many years ago, so our home was pretty peaceful and respectful and my kids haven't suffered the typical saw-way-too-much that most kids do before divorce ever happens.

This one strikes a really loud chord with me. I'm recently divorced from a man who is diagnosed with both Narcissistic Personality Disorder and, more recently, Borderline Personality Disorder (sociopathy). But, I believe that he (we) are the rare exception, and most of the marriages I know fall far more firmly into the woman-as-emotional-abuser column. And I still feel that my voice is better served yelling loudly for Men's Rights (especially in the divorce/custody process) and Red Pill Wifery t…

I'm seeing the most Alpha male I've ever met in my life. He is unbelievably sexy, amazing in bed, keeps me constantly guessing and wanting more. And he's 5'6" (I'm guessing...) and definitely one of the least-endowed men I've ever been with.

Thank you for your input. I agree that cleaning up after oneself is normal. I also encourage it in every single other aspect of life. My kids have far more than "normal" chores at my house, but actually have none at their dads. From what I can gather, their cleaning up vomit was applied as a punishment, not a life lesson. He has a one-room cabin b/c he chose to move out. At the beginning of our separation, it was discussed, at length who should stay in the family home. He did not want to carry t…

That's exactly what I'm beginning to realize. I am still deeply affected by him, and when I approach him with my fears/concerns, his charming way of explaining it all away does move me. I talked myself out of divorce for a decade. I'm afraid that I'm doing the same thing. I've begun making lists, and gathering "evidence" of all the stuff that's gone on. I had kept all his emails/texts, but hadn't actually listed the offenses out. As I have done so these last few hours, I am actually horrified th…

Thanks for your input. I would NEVER tell the kids if I did get sole custody. I am careful to always call him "Daddy" when I talk about him, not "your dad" or something distant. I would continue to do that.

Female here. I am in the middle of an absolutely necessary and long overdue divorce. But my estranged husband is an amazing father to our six children. I cannot imagine putting my hurt before their well-being, so I am utterly committed to being as kind, generous and civil as is humanely possible during this process (and forever, I suppose). I have been overwhelmed with the reaction of many of my female acquaintances. These are decent women, ones whom I thought would completely understand my reas…
