I've been wondering about this To overly simplify and generalize, I've been toying with the idea that men aren't watching tv anymore because they're playing video games. So the television world would thus become more and more pro female bias

There's other stuff people remove to just avoid potential hassles I think they just used to remove everyone's tonsils for example

(Genuinely curious) What are the benefits to having foreskin?

Yes, but a more specific complaint Though, maybe I should fault philosophers Could one argue that they are to blame for not convincing the public that they are still the ones whose job is to critically reason about everything and present their arguments to us? They do such within their academic circles, but they fail to really reach out to the masses Maybe the world wars made us against the idea of philosophers preaching to the working class

Because nonphilosophers are assuming their gut logic has the same validity as critically examined reasoning

That's a whole different level. The subspace of the human population who commits murder out of anything other than self defense is very, very small (0.000048 percent from a quick google. And that's just by counting the number of murders and assuming each murderer killed one person, so 1 murder = 1 person. The more accurate number would be less than this) Something tells me that if you're a person who is in the position mentally, emotionally, situationally, etc, to kill a man, you aren't exactly …

That's not how any of this works If you're the kind of person who is gonna steal regardless of the chance of being caught, you no longer fall under the category of those deterred by possible punishment. Id assume that the brain considers "jail vs not jail" as more significant a weighing than "some jail vs more jail"

I believe Anthony Jeslnick spoke on such topics when he was talking about how he tweeted jokes about horrible tragedies the day they happened (Boston marathon, etc) He said something like "NOTHING is funny about these tragedies. Absolutely nothing is there to take joy in. And that's where I come in"

Oh, good catch! I didn't see that he was calling for them to not be allowed. I thought he was just expressing dismay that they are well received. But yeah, I agree with you

I think the point that it being shown in a comedic light is the insensitivity as opposed to it being shown at all

Yeah! That's what the criminal justice system is all about. But I don't think we should just stop at that. I think we should also prioritize reformation and rehabilitation to create a more integrated society. Don't just beat your kids when they act up so the other siblings behave; try to teach them what they did wrong and help them find better strategies to move forward with

The evaluation of severity of punishment is largely subjective. You're basically suggesting that the lady learned / will learn her less with a nine month "prison" sentence? Oh, no; that's not what I'm saying. I think the prison system needs extreme reform. Punishment stopped being useful by the time Hume died; we need rehabilitation. But I saw the earlier comment as taking joy in the fact that our prisons hurt people in the long run more than help. I most certainly don't think that should be the…

Naw man, we don't want that. We WANT productive and healthy members of society, we don't want to run youth's lives into the ground. I'm not against the ruling at all; I'm very happy the innocent guy didn't get into trouble. But I don't think we should be glad that our prison systems hurt people more than rehabilitate them simply because we have a personal bias against these kinds of charges

That would suggest that treating them with kindness and compassion in the face of hostility would be a really useful tactic

And now you learn the true secret: groups lose intelligence after they reach a certain size. Genius tends to work better in very small circles. Admire people, not groups

How long has his company been so successful? He could have gone in without knowing his future success. I might be wrong though; I'm not willing to research if he was rich beforehand or not.

it's the husband speaking in a fit of rage and emotion. Obviously, if such a law came into being, it should also have a woman hitting a man be a felony. But then our prisons would be even more overcrowded

this is a dangerous way to go. If you're not looking for anything emotional with a girl, you shouldn't try to get her emotionally invested

I think this is more applicable for continuing acts, not for the first time between you and said female. Spontaneity breaks the ice the most efficiently, in my opinion
