I am sorry. I understand your frustration. I am divorcing from my ex-wife in my late 40’s for some similar reasons. I find it exceedingly difficult as well to find a female partner that doesn’t friend zone. Luckily for me I guess I am bisexual. I’ve pretty much given up on dating women because the ones I typically like friend zone me. I have too many female friends and don’t need another. My life isn’t what I wanted but I’m slowly accepting the bullshit known as my new reality.

This is so true. My exwife was extremely verbally abusive, would try and make fun of me, and never accepted responsibility for anything. I

Well said. I’m almost 50 and the pool of avails or women to choose from is pretty much trash

Very true. I agree to focus on your kid and not on remarriage.

I will not marry again either! My exwife is so toxic that I don’t date much and honestly just consider dating a guy at this point. I’m done with women romantically.

The problem I am having with dating after divorce is finding someone I want. It was easy to find in your 20’s. In late 40’s it’s not so easy.

That was like my exwife. She would cuss at me and call me names all the time. Examples include “dick”, “asshole”, “fucker”, “punk ass bitch”. Always in front of our children. The divorce has been terrible. She engaged in parental alienation and made it so our daughter doesn’t talk to me at all.

I can’t say it gets better. Rough life is the new normal. Nothing good.

I know from my experience I refuse to ever dare another woman seriously again. All gotta be flings for me. I don’t trust women after my exwife

I came out of divorce in a much worse place. You must be better looking than me. Dating feels like a horror film. A nightmare most of the time.

I think you can start dating by tell whoever you date that for the first 2 years that you can just see them when you don’t have your kids. Keep your girlfriend and your kids separate.

I am wondering if your exwife is actually encouraging the distance when you’re not there.

I agree with so much of what you said in your post. You’re a smart guy and have raised the same questions that are in my head. My wife left for an affair too.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
