I worked in video game development for 10 years. The men are afraid to even look at the women, let alone talk to them, out of fear of being reported to HR for the tiniest of missteps. A vast majority of the women I met in the industry had enormous, maniacal chips on their shoulders, where all they could see was sexism and all men around them were oppressors. They were legit miserable to have around. Meanwhile, almost all of them were clearly incompetent (statistics don't lie), and were the most …

I had a few nerve conduction studies done, there was significant muscle atrohpy...it's pretty much 100% certain to be an actual physical issue. I had surgery on my hand to help treat it, and it did make a gigantic difference. I wish it were stress-related, but unfortunately it's a real injury.

Would you be asking the same if a man went up to a woman he didn't know and started squeezing her breasts or fondling her vagina in public? Yes. You'd have to be extremely weak-minded for an event like that to "ruin your life". The death of loved ones arguably causes far more suffering. Nobody claims to have PTSD from their grandparents passing away.

If a woman lies about being on birth control, or simply doesn't have access to birth control, gets pregnant and has a child, then pursues the father for child support, how is that not relevant to a man's health?

I've had women do stuff like that (and arguably worse) to me before. My reaction was a bit of "WTF was that", then "mental note: that chick is crazy, stay away", and went about my business. Of course there is a difference - I'm not gay - maybe if it were a guy, I'd be pretty humiliated, but to the point of PTSD? Very doubtful. I've had a gay guy grab my junk repeatedly, and it was very annoying, but it had no noticeable effect on my life past that annoyance.

Ok, I know this will be met with vile retribution, but I need to ask: Does having a woman stick her finger in your butt at a party really trigger PTSD and "destroy someone's life"? Sounds a bit extreme to me. That said, she DID get put on the sex offenders list. That's a pretty big deal.

Dude here. Bilateral carpal tunnel syndrome AND cubital tunnel syndrome. Had surgery on my dominant hand to save the use of my thumb, went back to work the day after I got my stitches out. I was refused any additional leave and no insurance or disability program recognized my injuries as severe enough to stop working for any period of time. All requests to reduce my workload temporarily were met with laughter and threats of losing my position. I struggle to brush my teeth and can barely open doo…

To be fair, I don't think most men get as drunk as women do in the kinds of bars I've worked at. But the men did outnumber the women probably close to 3:1 (especially at the punk/metal bars, strip clubs etc). Most of the drunkest people are the girls that guys got wasted to try to take home after. I'll definitely agree that men are more likely to inflict damage, use weapons, and attack in groups, though are less likely to attack AND more likely to calm down after violence does break out. I've ne…

This x100. Worked as a bouncer for a few years. The boyfriend coming back trying to prove themselves were the best. Most of the time you could see in their eyes that they're shitting their pants the moment they walk up to you. 9/10 times they'll back off if you tell em it's not worth it and keep your cool. The other 1/10 gets a stomping from the whole security crew.

Former bouncer here: You're actually quite wrong. Men tend to be more respectful to authority than women IME. Men realize that they can suffer physical consequences if they provoke it. I've had maybe 4 guys try to sucker punch me like that, and at least 2-3 dozen women. Most of the time a guy, no matter how drunk, will have friends around who will calm him down, especially when I give the signal for backup and 4 massive dudes come running down the stairs, ready to wreck face. Most women who assa…

That, or she's very attractive. Attractive women are almost always treated with extreme favoritism and patience by almost everyone, especially men, because even if we don't realize it, a tiny part of our subconscious hopes we might have a chance to bang her. Except that guy. No fucks given.

I used to work in a bar owned by ATIFA activists. It was a shithole. Also, a commune. I swear they hallucinated white supremacists and fascists everywhere. One night, they were screaming at me to throw out 10 or 12 people because they had thrown their fists up in the air (like...both arms, cheering) when a band finished a song at a show, because they were "throwing up nazi symbols" and "encouraging violence".

Not to mention, completely ridiculous. Does this broad (heh) really think that there are zero racist black people in ghettos? Because according to her, there should be zero, since one apparently requires power over someone else to be racist. Or how about extremely poor Africans? They have whole other levels of racism, ethnic cleansing, mass murders of entire villages over which tribe makes up the majority of the population. Pretty sure those people aren't racist because they have power.

"Racism is prejudice + power". Funny, I know a bunch of black dudes from the ghetto who are racist as fuck.

Dunno where you're from, but on my city block there are 3 male-only barbers, and 2 of them are run exclusively by women.

Indeed this is extremely accurate. With a slight exception at the end: Men do often want to try random sex acts just because it seems like it would be fun or feel good, but that's not the ONLY motivation behind it, however.

You can't be a religious Christian and still have academic integrity. Otherwise you would look at the evidence surrounding the bible and have no choice but to conclude it's untrustworthy at best.

That's an extremely pessimistic point of view. Unrealistic, at least in my experience living in a highly liberalistic culture.
/r/MensRights30/06/14 04:28 PM

I'm not understanding the connection between liberalism and faith in general. If you're talking about a group of people as a group who base their beliefs and understanding on science, then you would know that such a group would quite quickly dismiss mysticism of any kind. After all, anyone with a full rational and objective mind can easily see that there's very little (if any) evidence arguing for any superstitious beliefs. If anyone would be laughing at astrology, it would be a hardcore liberal…

Your judgement is clearly clouded by religion, and as such, your opinions are not your own, but instead those of someone you believe to be better than you. There's no questioning those opinions, because they come from someone who is "above" you. Liberalism is all about looking at facts and evidence and forming your own opinion based on what you see around you and can actually demonstrate, not just doing what you're told by someone who you decide has the that right, and wanting the maximum possib…

True, there are obviously exceptions. As mentioned in another reply, there is also the "maniacal genius" template, a villain who is extremely intelligent and also crazy. This trumps any manliness requirements, because those are the types of people you instinctively want to stay away from regardless of their physical appearance. Their unpredictable and cunning nature makes them intimidating.

Brilliant example. There are many anti-hero dynamics that exist, but invariably, the bad guy OR good guy will generally reak of testosterone. He will wear a suit, and be very handsome, he will either be very physically imposing or have others who are in his presence. Portraying this exaggerated image of "manliness" allows the character to be believable to everyone - even the guy who hits the gym 5 times a week and has women climbing all over him. That's the point. This also has the backfire effe…

Good points. I'd also add that it's not only women objectifying men - it's also a male phenomenon. Men tend to size up other males very harshly, and if a male character in a film is meant to be taken seriously, he often has to "out-man" the male audience, otherwise, males may not take the character seriously. For example: If a male actor is playing a CEO or an evil bad guy, he has to be physically intimidating, or generally perceived as more masculine than would be the norm: big muscles, deep or…

Female actors only need to be reasonably attractive, and not fat. Male actors are expected to be in peak physical condition for the most part, and that's a lot harder to achieve than "not fat".

It's all about marketing. When marketing to men, ads will play on a sense of superiority over women, or status symbols used to attract women. When marketing to women, ads appeal to a sense of superiority over men, or play on the frustration that many women feel over men not doing enough chores, or obsessions with hobbies. It just turns out that as a marketing demographic, women tend to spend slightly more than men on a weekly basis (according to some studies), so there is simply more marketing d…

No, it means that I have never had any smegma, and I think it might be because I wash my junk often enough that it never builds up. I dont see anything about anyone else in that phrase.

I'm pretty sure that almost every woman on dating sites gets more dates than men do. Most men find 0 messages in their inbox on average per week. My female friends get up to 30-50 or more message a day. It's hard to get a date when literally nobody is responding to you.

Not that I'm trying to brag, but this point definitely needs to be recognized by more people. I'm a pretty good looking guy. In my entire life I've literally never had to approach a woman, ever. They pretty much would fall into my lap. If I go out to a bar, chances are at least one woman will come up and talk to me, and within a few minutes, will suggest that we "get outta there". For sex. In person I've never had any problem trying to get laid, and most of the time it's with intelligent, attrac…

I'll throw this one out there, because it's interesting. A lot of students joke around about there being more women on campus because education is expensive, and men have a much harder time using sex to make easy money.

Not at all. I'm saying that everyone knows about those scenarios, but nobody ever mentions the incredible psychological damage that girls can cause to boys.

I'm pretty sure that the latter scenario is well accepted and known. It's the former that is a difficult pill for society to swallow.

This is also true, my point was just that bullying isn't always boys vs boys, and the more we overlook that fact, the more preventable suicides are going to occur needlessly.

Girls don't bully boys in the same way that boys bully boys. Girls tend to play with boys' emotions in a way that another boy just can't (unless the victim is gay of course, then it's a different story). We all understand alpha competition. All boys go through some form of it at some point as kids, and most deal with it relatively well. But when girls do it, it's a whole different level.

When I was a kid, the stuff boys went through was harsh. Boys would mess with other boys, sometimes get into fights, but most of the time the victim(s) would get through it without many issues. Then one day a girl would pull some "I'm gonna pretend to be interested in you, invite you out somewhere, and reject/make fun of you in front of a group of our peers" crap, and the kid would end up completely devastated. Boys picking on boys is one thing. It's not acceptable but it IS understandable looki…

I wonder how many men commit suicide because of things that happened to them in relationships, vs how many women do so. It's much easier for women in general to find a mate after a bad end to a relationship, this is just a fact. When a woman gets divorced, even later in life, there will always be the option of finding a man and 'settling'. For men, it can be staggeringly difficult. Women also tend to receive a lot more support after a breakup, whereas men are often expected to 'just deal', have …

Simple: Men are expected to take it, and if they fail or anything bad happens to them, it's their own fault. A feminist might say that this is their own fault for being unfair towards women. Basically: Men use women and treat them as inferior, so they deserve whatever comes to them.

Let's be honest. Most straight men, know that as teenagers, they would have LOVED to have sex with an attractive older woman, many even fantasize about their teachers. It's true. Men are programmed to want to have sex at every opportunity that presents itself. The problem is that we're treating this situation as if having sex with an older woman were terrifying to younger men/teenagers. This is simply not true in MOST cases. Definitely in far fewer cases than if, say, a male teacher forced a fem…

I'm about to hit 30, and almost all of my friends who were married are getting divorced. Almost all of them for reasons related to sex. It's overwhelmingly the men who have the most difficulty with their sex lives...or lack thereof. It seems that society tells women that they should use sex to convince men to stay with them, and as soon as you're secure in the relationship, sex is no longer needed. Nobody cares about how this makes men feel. It's unacceptable to ask for sex, and it's even more u…

When I was a kid, lots of people were into pro wrestling (WWF/WCW style). Wanna have your confidence destroyed? Look at how a few of those wrestlers looked. Millions of kids tuned in to be told that a real man is 6'5, ridiculously muscular, and borderline invincible.

In Quebec it's used as an insult in a few different ways. It's commonly used to describe someone who is lazy, or who is basically obnoxious and a crappy person in general, usually a woman as it's a feminine word.

50 Shades of Grey is a thing. For those who don't know what it's about, it's about pretty brutal sexual domination of women, pretty much. It also happens to be extremely popular among women...probably the most popular erotic/explicit porn novel series ever published. Did I mention it's full of rape and domination of women, and is purchased primarily by women, who are using it to enhance their sexual relationships?

You could take that message, replace "rape" and "beat" with "rob" and "ruin", and send it back to her. It would be twice as true for her and "her ilk" than it is for MRA.

Ah, I hadn't seen that he tossed her off the bus the first time. Either way, if a woman gets up in a man's face, much less a man in a position of authority, she deserves what she gets to an extent. After reviewing the video, yeah he was right to punch her. I stand by my comment about him not having to knock her out, but then again I've knocked guys out by accident when I was a bouncer, so I kinda understand...

I agree with what he did, but he did go a tad hard on that punch. He coulda just grabbed and tossed her. Even if she was fighting back, that would actually have made her look more crazy. He didn't need to knock her the eff out, but he did have to show her who's boss. Bus drivers do take a lot of shit, and if people get away with refusing to pay, everyone will just start doing the same.

Hits to the groin are illegal in all sports. Including MMA (UFC fighting for the uninitiated). Trust me, it has nothing to do with sexual intent. Hitting a man in the groin is universally considered weaksauce at the very least.

If you've never had a foreskin, then you have no idea what it feels like. Sexual pleasure is definitely reduced after circumcision. This isn't even debatable.
/r/MensRights24/08/12 01:01 PM

Well, to start, sex is a lot less pleasurable for you than it is for non-circumcised men. That's why people think it takes longer for circumcised men to ejaculate. Then there's the part about your parents forcing it on you at birth without your consent. Why do we feel it's wrong for women to have their clitoris cut, but it's perfectly fine to cut off part of the pleasure center (and protective covering) of a man's penis? It adds no cleanliness benefit, or any benefit of any kind. People who say …

It's funny cause this happens SO often, it's accepted in society. Why? If a woman can raise her hand to a man, surely the man shouldn't beat the crap out of her, that's definitely NOT alright. But if a woman is aggressive to a man...violent, threatening etc, there's no reason that she should react like he's abusive when he finally gets fed up and yells or slams a door or something. I've noticed that many, many times, when a woman claims to be abused, you only hear HER version of the story. I'm n…
