That makes a great deal of sense. I suppose it may just be the lens through which you look at the thing. OP's wording threw me off, I think Edit: spelling

Not to be too blunt, but I don't see any way in which you could logically argue that this sort of system is how everyone lives. Maybe if everyone grew up to be detached from and immune to their emotions, then yeah. Maybe if everyone's lives were ultimately lived solely to try to get with the other sex (barring any sort of hypothesis stating that this is the ultimate purpose of living organisms), and for no other reason, then sure. But I don't think either of those are true, nor do I think they'r…

Does it really though? What I'm getting at is that this sort of gaming involves desensitizing yourself to the pangs of emotion, good and bad, felt in the game itself. The initial concern I raised was that this sort of desensitization cannot be as simple as flipping a switch when you decide you want to fall in love. I can't really imagine a seasoned vet suddenly deciding, "hey, I think I'll start having feelings about sex again." It's not just the game, but the game's effects on your psyche, that…

Or you could just be respectful, act confident until you garner real confidence, be a nice guy, and get girls that way. Following guidelines such as those written here is not the only way of getting girls, and being "good with women" isn't really what I'd call the result of these systems. More like "good at women," like playing a videogame. I'd rather just be good to people in general, and take it from there. It's more fulfilling getting a girl by just acting like yourself after you've gotten th…

That's what it looks like to me. It's this sort of thing that scares me away from taking this subreddit seriously as a guide for someone who still wants to live honestly in some respect, or who at least wants to enjoy life in some way. Don't get me wrong, scoring with girls is great, but this sort of "process" completely annihilates that greatness and replaces it with an "abundance" of hookups that you're not going to give a shit about, successful or not. That might be alright if you get all the…

This isn't worthwhile information, it's overt sexism and douchebaggery. This sub troubles me at some points, it hovers too close to holding objectification up as a golden compass

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
