No, certain types of sports have always been boring. And compared to some legal/untraceable drugs top athletes receive, t is a joke.

You're kind of missing my point. They're not "our" sports, they're the sports of a slimming subgroup of sports fans. Or to put it more cynically: If you devote your youth to a niche sport, wreck your body and future perspectives in the process, the possibility of a trans woman standing on the upper podium is the least of your problems.

There's a reason why they are multi-billion dollar industries. "You can't make money off a healthy patient". There's no such thing as a working anti-wrinkle cream, there are no pills to make you thinner, to make your hair grow faster, there's no perfume that will turn you irresistible etc.. There is plenty of stuff that works, but you can mostly find that in the "extremes". One part is about things you don't do (don't put too much heat and friction to your hair, don't eat too much shitty food, d…

Yes, exactly. Unwanted opinions and advice are just common rudeness and go far beyond body weight and appearance, nothing more. No reason to whip out any buzzwords, on both sides.

Giving the huge variety of areas your tax money is being spent on, you've just provided yourself with the rationalization to blurt out your opinions like a manure spreader on every. imaginable. issue.

And it's perfectly okay to find obese people unattractive. Heck, I do. What bothers me is the weird overconfidence it takes to believe that your opinion matters, like, at all. If you weren't asked, be quiet. And if you receive an unsolicited opinion, don't blow it up into a huge political debate. So simple.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/18 02:41 PM

And, in absolute numbers, how much does obesity cost you, in comparison to other questionable life choices others make? Source please.

I focused my post more on the needlessness of unwanted opinions than on the blown-up responses they often receive from self-proclaimed progressives because I, personally, have more experience with the former. Over-politicizing takes two parties, onbviously. If you weren't so keen on turning this into a battle with "blame", opposing "camps" and someone who "started it", maybe you wouldn't have missed that point.

Sure, there's no perfect analogy to fatshaming. Other than that, you base most of your reasoning on this caricature of the entitled, overly offended morbidly obese woman. I'm not saying she doesn't exist, I've met her multiple times. But bottom line she doesn't represent anybody who ever received an unwanted opinion on their body. Then, let's say she did, wouldn't that speak for my point? Her outrage comes from overinterpreting the simple, very common rudeness that is the unsolicited opinion and…

Smoking is called out constantly, not the smoker personally. Also: When a big fashion brand launches a campaign with a pudgy model, it regularly turns into a hysteric outrage spiral of manosphere and feminist sites posting one rant after another. I've never seen that happen with the frequent usage of cigarettes as accessories in fashion editorials.

I've been attracted to several dudes who were smaller than me (172cm). Being small isn't undesirable, "little man syndrome" and "heightcels" (no, really, google it) are. If you build your identity around your height, it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Imo that's two different issues. On one hand, the whole Pick-Up community has become more prominent and not exactly in the way they'd want. I remember what Archer had to say about negging. The whole thing is pretty much a joke to the general public. On the other hand, you have RP ideas. They haven't been exactly new when the term got coined and they won't go away with it. Recently it has become more acceptable to utter reactionary ideas in public, RP ones being no exception.

I'll just assume the wife's lack of a sex drive has no health reasons. Imo, the first step should be to discuss with his wife whether "opening" the marriage would be an option. As long as neither partner brings any STDs into the marriage or neglects the other components of their relationships, there shouldn't be any moral problem with that. If the wife disagrees, maybe he should ponder if the marriage has any future. Sexuality is such a central part of a relationship, and if both partners are at…

Yes, so? As long as humans don't adapt seahorse anatomies, there's really no point why it should. Don't get me wrong, I am for a way for fathers to renounce an unborn child (or frankly, any kid you didn't know about), but it should be limited in a similar way abortions are: The decision would have to be made by not later than +-three months after finding out about the pregnancy/the kid. Also, once you renounce the child, it's irreversible. That means, no visitation rights whatsoever, no right fo…

Online schools are used primarily by older students, who have considerably more male teachers. Medical assisting and teaching have a huge empathy component. You can automate strength focused tasks much better than empathy focused tasks, and often it's as simple as that.

Nobody is saying women in large numbers can't create an uncomfortable work environment for men. But won't the problems you described be solved in a more gender-wise balanced workplace?

If hazard pay was so rewarding, why do MRAs keep complaining about the 93%? Because the amount of hazard pay is usually a complete joke, it won't pay your medical bills, it won't help you or your family when you're dead, and companies try to weasel themselved out of it whenever they can, especially in countries with sloppy labor laws.

Of course women generally don't want to become coal miners. But neither do men. Only in the latter case, it's one of the "socially accepted" ways to make a living if you didn't have any access to any higher-profile professions. And in a few decades it won't matter anymore anyway because the industry won't need as much manpower (pun indended) as they do now. Male-dominated blue collar jobs are tendentially more threatened by automatization than the female-dominated ones. So if you can't get a hig…

Blue-collar jobs are hardly about wanting to do something. Lowly educated women probably don't want to spend their days watching over 20+ little kids on their own or washing old people either. But neither do men want to spend hours in mine shafts or on a 30m high scaffolding without safety nets. It's about what the job market yields for you, and in the latter cases the selection keeps getting smaller.

Depends on the amount of entitlement that comes with this behaviour. Mere white-knighting is just pitiful, when he additionally tries to emotionally pressure me into giving him a chance, that's disgusting. It should also be noted that white-knighting is not a purely male thing. I've found that in many smallish fandoms (for unknown bands, fringe sports teams, anything that allows much direct contact between artist and fans) there are women displaying the exact same behaviour and it's just that pa…

The OP clearly has never heard of Richard Feynman or Albert Einstein. Also, plenty of men who'd qualify as nerds are guys who concentrate almost exclusively on their field of knowledge (unless you're really gifted, that's the only way to achieve greatness) and neglect everything else: Hobbies, their health and fitness, social life etc.. That's obviously no way to attract women or people in general.

As far as I see it, ideally the mentioned subreddits would make fun only of those type of "nice guys" who are slimeballs around the women they desire and sophomoric bitter assholes to the whole rest. The type whose timeline consists of boasts what an ideal gentleman he'd be, followed by racist memes and self-quotations. The fact that these subreddits often make fun of dudes merely for being obviously desperate or having a questionable wardrobe is shameful, but it's not TBP's job to control this.

I feel like malevolence towards one's own gender is more frequent among women, while men limit this to their professional lives. Just ask the girlfriends/wives of any crushed-on male celebrity what type of vile comments they receive from some fangirls on a regular basis. The only thing you get from men in this case (unless they are real uber-neckbears) is "Lucky bastard!". It also seems more common among women to justify your own life choices by talking down others. I.e. the housewife badmouthin…

Is it already AMALT when I'm clutching pepper spray under my sleeve while a man is approaching or do I actually need to attack him on spec? In the former case, if he's harmless, he'll never even know it's there. Redpillers are very blunt and vocal about their application of AWALT.

The fact that too many people, including women, believe this notion is the reason male victims of sexual violence hardly get taken seriously.

I'd tell them the same I tell women having difficulties in that area (and yes, they're real): Don't pity yourself, don't turn your frustration into hatred. Look after your hygiene and posture. Leave the house, have something real going on in your lives. If necessary, have your skin and teeth fixed. Etc. TRP doesn't hold copyright on general self-improvement, even less did they invent it.

Could be for various reasons. Ugly women hardly exist in popular culture. And if they do, they'll often get a makeover to fix their "condition". Unattractive men are still treaded as a comic relief. Regarding your example: It seems that almost all top-earning jobs are so time-consuming (we're talking about 80+ hours of work/week here) you literally can't have anything else interesting going on in your life. Take away the job and you may have a boring empty canvas of a human being. And that's not…

I don't get why we need a label for that. Of course intelligence is hot, if you hone and make actual use of it. Nobody gets turned on by you "winning" arguments against strangers on the internet, which seems like something people who actually use the word "sapiosexual" seem to enjoy a lot. Sure, childbirth can loosen up the anatomy there. Not dicks per se. Filming porn must be an extreme situation. All pounding for hours in all kinds of uncomfortable camera-friendly angles. Also, women age, so do their genitals. I'm pretty sure male pornstars' balls also tend to hang a bit lower each year.

If a man feels positively responding to a woman's seduction attempt would compromise his relationship/family/etc., he can always say no. Then there's no damage done and no reason to attack anyone. The widespread notion "I'm a man, I can't help it." is not only harmful to men and women alike, it's also insulting men's intelligence.

Sometimes this works, sometimes it doesn't. I've experienced that a considerable amount of men I find really unattractive or otherwise repulsive are actually happily married. Good for them. (And no, neither is any of these dudes particularly rich nor are their wives particularly ugly). The same goes for my female friends. You're mingling a high partner count with generally being dishonest, traitorous and whatnot. You know sex needs at least two people, right? How is it only the woman's fault if her trysts somehow ruin a family or community and can't the "wise patriarchs" just say no if they sense this coming?
/r/PurplePillDebate16/11/15 12:56 PM

First of all, an unpopular opinion for a feminist: Yes, sluts are real, and I think it's perfectly fine to refer to them as such. But I'd say the definition is stricter than "Woman with a high partner count" or "Sexual woman who won't sleep with you". Sluttiness implies a certain lack of ethics (as in lying, disrespecting other peoples' monogamous relationships, etc.) and it should be fine to call women out on that. The general definition of a player/PUA already incorporates all the trickery, ly…

People who claim that seem to only see the type of woman this may apply to. Also: So what? Sure, I could approach some dude and tell him "You're going home with me" and if he was single (and in some unfortunate cases, even if he wasn't) he'd most likely go along with it. But where does that get me? How do I know he's a good lay? How can I tell he takes care of his personal hygiene (Trust me, the outward level of grooming isn't exactly reliable)? Blueish purple. Absolutely pro any type of decriminalization. First and foremost because I believe in occupational self-determination. Also, regulations don't harm the many black sheep one bit, and instead sabotage the wrong people. The majority of sexworkers may work under abysmal conditions, but so does the majority of seamsters, and I don't see anyone trying to close down tailor shops. One exception: I do think protection for everything but oral should be mandatory.

Questionable content aside: What gives you the urge to post this? For strict physical beauty not quite. There definitely is more flexibility in male beauty ideals. Know any woman with a huge or otherwise prominent nose that is still percieved as hot by men? On the male side we have Adrien Brody and Nathan Fillion. Really crooked teeth? Early David Bowie. Dad bod? Christian Bale in American Hustle. Thin, stringy hair? Simon Pegg. Short? As I've said, patriarchy harms men as well. In wars, sure. Not because men are seen as more expendable, they just tend to be more physically enduring and thus fitter for military work. If men are targeted harder in genocides, it's because 1.they're seen as the bigger threat, 2.women didn't "count" into the identity of a tribe/ethnical group and thus were often assimilated as servants/wives rather than killed.

And now you're giving zero examples to your point while picking on me for giving four? As I've said before, I really don't mind men being responsible for more tech advances and symphonies, since they're also responsible for more wars, genocides and Uwe Boll movies.

I wouldn't compare Catherine the Great with men like Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Idi Amin, the Kims, the Assads, al-Gaddafi, Pol Pot etc.. If you'd like to include Catherine the Great, you might as well include any long-reigning monarch in history. Bathory was more on par with serial killers like Jeffrey Dahmer, Ted Bundy etc. Her social status merely made her get away with her murders for very long.

Theory vs. practice. You know how the dictionary definition of "feminism" doesn't always cohere with what tumblrheads are writing? In practice, any patriarchal structure oppresses more than just women. Wikipedia's definition is much more differentiated in that matter. How about women who made big scientific discoveries and…

The fact that there are plenty of male snubs in science as well doesn't disprove downunderit's point. Patriarchy doesn't mean "Men hold the power over women", it's more like "A few men hold the power over women and the other men". How many examples of women famously taking credit for a man's work can you recall? J.K. Rowling stole plenty of stuff from other authors, and some female singers made huge hits with pop songs originally sung by men, but that's basically it.

Lise Meitner, Cecilia Payne-Gaposchkin, Rosalind Franklin, Jocelyn Bell Burnell. Feel free to google them yourself. I kinda believe that men are more "extreme" than women and I'm ok with that. The world's greatest composers might be all male, but so are all the psychotic dictators.
