Hear hear! It goes back to the notion that 'your significant other acts like the oldest teenager in the house'. Expect this because it is true.

I am inclined to agree with the premise. In my own experience, I do best by simply doing...not talking about doing. Stating a truth is one thing...saying you read about it or discussed it with a bunch of guys opens up your frame. For example, on Monday, my wife was giving me a shit test about finances and work. I have reclaimed the financial helm, and she was complaining that I dont involve her in financial discussions. Also complaining about work (long backstory...it took years for me to basica…

Theory is theory. Maybe this is theory, maybe it is a hypothesis. I'm an engineer, not a scientist. It merits thought and consideration. When first spoken, it was spontaneous and definitely not while in her frame. She 'hates it' when i smack her ass after sex. Good comments and feedback. Ill post again when I have something else worthwhile.

You cut down (or eliminate completely) 'I love you' from your vernacular. Replace it with the more temporary variant as appropriate to reward and encourage further good behavior. IE rampant sex, dirty flirtation, cleaning the house, being particularly fun to be around, etc. The idea is to give her the feelz without allowing any permanent hooks into you.

I hear you. Eloquent as i may try to be, some notions are tough to convey. You are right - I was loving the pussy. It is definitely loveable. But hitting it doesnt tear down my walls, or buy her a get-out-of-jail-free card. It does, however, keep us both smiling a bit more. It has been said truthfully that women do not love the way that men do. We mean it in a permanent sense. They mean it in a momentary sense. Your post on finite and infinite games (which I thought was an excellent post) is alo…

There is no one way. Most modern men I know are entrenched in blue pill thinking. The red pill is 'life as it truly is'. It seems to take an event or condition where the ugly reality of life stabs its beak through ones protective barriers. Waking to the realization that you have been used. When the dissatisfaction of modern life can no longer be ignored, you wake up. Probably the only means of evangelizing is by truly owning your shit. When your sex lifeis rocking, your financial life is going w…

Women want vulnerability in the fashion that Delilah wanted to know the secret to Samsons' strength. They wish to know your secret weakness so they can use it to suit their own purposes. This is obviously to be avoided. Samson did a good job the first few times he blew her off, killed his enemies, and fucked her senseless. Unfortunately for him, he caved in at the end and suffered for it. As others have noted, the other definition of vulnerability is a bit different. It is an artifact of bravery…

Overall solid. There is an additional layer I recommend adding. This is allowing the expectation of failure. Sometimes the first mate starts eyeing the captain spot. Well, I understand the lust for power, but it takes a set of balls to truly captain the ship. Not my rules. The rules of the universe. Anyway, in a moment of clarity, if you allow the first mate to take hold of the wheel and immediately direct the ship toward the rocks, this can be a teaching moment for the first mate. Case in point…

Do. Not. Get. Fucking. Married. Every time a bell rings, an angel gets its wings. Every time a wedding bell rings, I hear the wailing cries of 10,000 men. Gnashing their teeth and writhing in agony. Crying out for the poor fool who just ruined his life. The angel getting its wings from the wedding bells is a demon. It took me five years to get my wife back to work. Literally. We had to give up a beautiful house due to the need to pay for autism therapy for our son. She was so opposed to working …

Shit yeah. Thanks for the post. I have a birthday coming up in a couple days. My wife has been bugging me about 'what do you want for your birthday?' I am going to tell her 'do not buy me anything's, and then go buy myself a set of free weights. I have been working my way through the process, but I really need to get the weights going.

Bad situations have a way of allowing true colors to bubble to the surface. You already know the answer...you are hoping that someone will tell you that wrong is right. Fortunately, wrong is just wrong, and you should listen to the harsh, unvarnished advice of the men on this forum. Without a radical turnaround in her health, mindset, or both, you are wilfully entering into an unnecessary period of suffering at her hand. You have no kids. She, by your account, makes your life less enjoyable than…

In my experience, people who look at the word 'selfish' and are repulsed by it tend to be the people who do not respectful the notion of value. 'You mean that the scraps I give you are less than the prime rib you give me? How dare you value your goods / attributes enough to keep even a modest score!' It is really a form of self-respect. The act of failing to value (or intentionally ignoring the value of) your assets is disrespectful to yourself. Interestingly, the betas I know who will fully dis…

I agree completely. Requirements like 'you fucking read Ayn Rand!' are directions for parents to give to their children. Few philosophies stand 100%, but I am a firm believer in holding fast to what you believe to be valuable...I am a small business owner so I better. If you possess something of value, trading it for something of substantially less value is an insult to yourself and your item. Fuck that. It goes for business as well as relationships. I look at things from a relatively long-term …

The anger phase lasts until you begin to see improvements. Stick to your MAP, work on your self, and don't expect the 1000 foot rope issue to resolve itself in 100 feet. AWALT. That means that there is a path forward.

IMHO, hobbies should be your own, unless they happen to coincide. Interests should be shared, but hobbies are one way to maintain your own shit.

Your post is long as fuck. I could only read half of it. You sound like you need to figure out enough shit to boil it down to much less. When shit is that complicated, it is a no-brainer to say that it must be simplified. U der no circumstances would I advise anyone to get married. There are zero unicorns. Even with MRP, I advise strongly against even considering it. I will tell you the same thing I tell my little brother : live well, love women, have children. Do not get fucking married. Ever.

I agree. 12 year marriage. I discovered trp and mrp about six months ago. Devoured the literature. Read everything. Started exercising again. Building myself back up as a man. I'm about four months in to my MAP, and doing my best to heed the 'no rambo' advice. Im not counting on her coming around - I am doing this for me. But I am standing up and calling out her bullshit. Playfully at times, serious at others. As my value increases, I will continue increasing the dread. But, like you said, I hav…

I am learning how to deal with this kind of shit from my wife. When she goes nuclear over some insignificant issue (drama at work / kids didn't pick up shoes / I did something she didn't like) and throws a tantrum, I now stop arguing, stop discussing, put my hands on the table, and tell her "you are out of control and this conversation is over'. Then, I go for a jog or work on something in the garage. She knows she has a real problem with her temper. When you put your foot down in a real yet lev…

A friend of mine at work was getting engaged. I told him how the next several years would play out. No holds barred. All the gruesome truths of marriage 2.0. my advice to him was 'dont get married. Tell her this : ' "Babe, you are a tiger. And I am a lion. I see so many people end up in cages, and I don't want to cage you. Let's never get married.' If I could, I would kick the shit out of the old dumbass beta me. But that ship has sailed. If you must get married, make sure your prenup is solid, …

Like a dog who gets caught stealing shit off the table, your wife is sorry. Sorry she got caught. That is a far cry from actually acknowledging the wrong. Waterworks are bullshit. Don't let yourself be fooled by them. Use this as the object with which to beat yourself in the face next time you find yourself losing frame and becoming a bitch. It is also your 'stfu' card, to be used on both her and yourself. For her : STFU. You fucked up, so face the consequences. For you : STFU and be stronger th…

Team appreciation = bullshit. Fuck that. Particularly when you have a flight out. Night with strippers would be ok...otherwise, it's nothing a good lunch can't overcome. After you kick ass at whatever consulting you do. Set your priorities. Make them known. Then have fun with the space remaining.

This sounds familiar. My son was as colicky as they come, and it drove us both batshit crazy. My wife definitely had postpartum depression, which is actually a real thing. If I could go back in time, I would definitely set up more fun outside activities and enforced doing them. Sitting around all day inside with a colicky baby will drive you insane. Plus, no sun = no vitamin D = depression. Step up locating some fun shit to do. Bonus if there are hot moms around to help increase the dread. My pa…

This does serve as a reminder to us all of the occasional presence of some undesirable 'friend'. I have an upcoming event which I can smell will turn into a certain shit test. My wife has this dumbass, total loser of a friend. POS mom, totally self-absorbed. Any time my wife and her hang out, some of it ends up rubbing off on my wife. They are planning on meeting up for the first time in a long time. My plan : have a great time with the kids. Exercise in advance. Continue working dread. DNGAF. A…

The trouble is that it really hurts my brain to force myself to think like a teenager again. Most of the time in this situation, it is best to simply STFU. If the friend is an idiot or tends to lead the wife in bad directions, you almost have to plunge your face beneath the surface of the water and enter their world for a minute just to be sure nothing horrible is about to happen.
