Now, you find out the underlying reason why you have an eating disorder and work to correct it. Don't worry about what others think. Remove potential obstacles (whether they be societal or personal), but otherwise, I wouldn't "encourage" someone into a career s/he might not be suited for. 3	Origin and basis of the wage gap myth? There is a wage gap. Women make less money through wage than men do. The reasons are plenty but also irrelevant. The difference is what wage gap means. A wage is the rate of pay, for example salary or hourly wage. Are you trying to claim that woman are paid less per hour worked than men are? 1	For those who own "Why Men Earn More": Where is Farrell's source that if you separate women who are never married and without children it flips the wage gap? There is a pay gap in America, but the question is more along the lines of "Why is there a gap?" Some folks will claim that there's an overarching system that seeks to suppress those in the outgroup (i.e. not like me with my dangly bits) whilst others look at lifestyle choices (working 50 hours a week instead of 40, constant employment vs periods of absence, danger vs safety, etc) to conclude that these choices more than anything influence the take home pay.
