Thanks for taking the time to post all of these links and write it all out. It’s sincerely appreciated.

I only did a quick Google search so maybe I missed it, but I didn’t see anything that backed that up..

Well the stats say 35% female, 28% male experience physical violence from a partner… but for psychological it’s much closer to 50/50, although men experience more psychological abuse than woman.

That’s a trans woman who hasn’t completely gone through the process if you know what I mean, and that’s a gay guy who’s with them (gay as in they prefer penis). Just so you have some extra context.

That’s actually really interesting, I didn’t know they can perform surgery as an adult to restore the foreskin. Where did you get the tissue needed for that? Why was it done?

Are you circumcised? And have you been raped before? If you can answer yes to both of those questions then your statement has some validity. If not then you have no idea what you’re talking about. It isn’t anywhere close, at all, in any way shape or form, close to being on the same level as rape. Not at all. There’s no memory of it being done, no trauma from it, and everything works the just fine after it’s done. Should be it continue to be allowed to be done? No, probably not. Is it a major pro…

You’re right, I worded that poorly. It doesn’t HAVE to be done. If it IS going to be done, it’s better that it’s done early on then later. That’s because it takes less to medicate a baby than a child, which means less potential side effects of drugs in a child. I think it’s kind of impossible for a child to decide if they want to be circumcised though. I mean think about it. Parents have to make decisions all the time for their kids that the kids might not agree with, yet they do it because they…

That’s good, congratulations. 😊 You’re probably right, it’s better to have the option of consent or if only absolutely necessary. However, for those that have already had it done to them, it’s really not a big deal, and nowhere close to mutilation or rape. Mutilation indicates serious damage. There’s no serious damage that comes from circumcision. I’m saying that if parents have to make a choice for their child and they are unsure, generally they will pick the best option they believe in at the …

Yeah I mean, I experience an incredible amount of pleasure already; experiencing a lot more would probably result in a down turn of good experiences into bad ones. Besides, your glands are still extremely sensitive, and instead of feeling foreskin moving up and down them you feel everything else. The reports of extremely heightened sensitivity are highly exaggerated.

Keep in mind I’m not a medical professional either so I could be entirely off the mark. Everything I know is just from what I’ve read online, but basically the surgery has a higher chance of failure the higher the age is. Meaning that cutting the skin can result in higher injuries at older ages. I mean that sometimes parents have to make choices that override what a child does. A child can’t have all the choices; parents sometimes have to choose what’s best for the child even if it doesn’t seem …

It does though. Circumcision makes it less likely to get STD’s, and less likely to fall to hygienic diseases. Yes, it’s not hard to clean, but that doesn’t mean the other facts aren’t true. And the guy actually makes sense with the abortion stuff as well. I mean cells are alive aren’t they? Sperm has cells in it, an egg that hasn’t been fertilized still has cells that are alive, all of that stuff is alive. Something doesn’t have to have a heart to be alive. The argument comes when you try and pr…

Yeah but it has to be done at a young age. If you wait until the child can consciously say something then it can potentially be life harming. It’s really not a big deal. Sure, consent should be there. But that isn’t always how life works; you choose the best solution available to you at the time and hope for the best. That’s the responsibility of the parents.

Unfortunately you’re wrong. Men DO have a clitoris! Lol no but really. Your information is false. Circumcision has very little to do with sexual pleasure for either partner. I say very little because it does influence it to a small degree. However, the most sensitive parts of the male penis still exist after circumcision, and the sensitivity is entirely up to individual basis. If you want to experience more pleasure, learn how to use the dick you have! It’s fun!

But not fully correct. Also, comparing relativity to circumcision is like comparing an elephant to an airplane; the two share nothing in common. The fact is that circumcision has proven benefits but proven harmful effects as well. It’s nowhere near the level of rape, or even something like assault. It’s also one of those procedures that HAS to be done early on; doing it later in life can cause extreme harm to the body (like harm resulting in death, not harm like losing some excess skin). Someone…

It seems to be based off her comments that she’s genuinely worried and concerned. So am I. I joined this sub hoping that it would be a sub to be active about men’s rights. Yeah where I’m from I think child support relies on the fathers income? Which makes no sense at all to me. Why does the child’s needs depend on the income of the father? Lol. It should be the same for every kid. The only exception should be for people who can’t afford to support a kid, then figure out something different there.

You’re right, the problem is that the child exists. Woman have a right to get rid of that child with abortion, but men don’t. That inequality is where the issue lies. Before the baby is even born we have inequality on a massive level, because a man is forced to care for a child with no choice, but a woman has the choice. If the woman has no choice (AKA no abortion) then it’s even and it makes sense for men to not have the choice either. But that isn’t a very good solution; woman should have the …

Now you’re changing what my original response was and using generalization and your own fears to fill the slots of what you don’t know about me. I appreciate the candor in which you reply to me and the time and energy it takes, but the best solution to every response is to take time to get to know your audience and then respond in kind. Transphobia only applies to people who “don’t conform to social gender expectations.” Would you include that in people who bear ill will towards others and would take advantage of any opportunity to pursue someone? My example applies to someone attempting to take advantage of such a system to get at woman in a natural place.

There’s no transphobia at all in my statement. This word gets thrown around so much that it seems most people have completely lost touch with what it means. Do you see how someone can take advantage of such a system of which there are still so few regulations? Are you ignorant to the lengths people would go to have such opportunities? Having a third option sounds like the best and most ideal option, but its not going to be possible. The time and money costs it would take to install a third bathr…

It’s not anti-male to be a supporter of woman. It’s supposed to be, in theory, a joint partnership from both sides to make sure everyone is treated like a human being. AKA having basic shared rights. Fighting against each other only furthers to deepen the divide, not helping us grow. I’m not saying it’s our fault for that divide, I’m saying it’s our fault for not standing up for our rights in the first place. Who cares if you get hated on for standing up for what you believe in? That’s what happ…

I’m not nearly educated enough on this topic to speak on this; it’s more than just looking up definitions on Google. I do believe fighting for equality is what feminism is supposed to be about; not just for equal rights but to make sure that woman’s rights STAY equal. Then again that might be the man’s responsibility, it’s tough to say. Feminism is supposed to be about woman; it’s not necessarily their job to fight for mens rights. That’s our job. Speaking of which, why isn’t there a word for th…

It’s not about MORE rights, it’s about EQUAL rights. That’s literally the definition. Feminism is what pulled voting rights for woman, what allowed woman to get jobs at the same level of men (and equal pay) and paternity leave for woman at jobs. Sure there isn’t equality, and in my opinion it’s leaning more towards woman favored at the moment than men, but that doesn’t mean feminism in itself hasn’t done good things.

Whew. That is a lot of writing for someone so misinformed. At what point in your research did you decide to be unbiased, and start to let your feelings do the research for you? I want to make sure you understand what I just said, so I’m going to repeat it: at what point did you decide that instead of learning about something, you were going to declare yourself already full of knowledge on it? Feminism isn’t anti-male propaganda. That’s extremist feminism, which is so far from the foundations of feminism as to justify not even being called feminism. Feminism is about equal rights. Not about being anti-male. It’s good not to get the two confused.
/r/MensRights05/12/22 11:17 AM

No, true feminism is about equality, meaning to stabilize rights for both sides. It’s not about taking away mens rights, it’s about making sure both are equal. That does mean debunking things, but it doesn’t mean feminism itself is bad. In fact it’s a good thing, and I’d argue most guys would consider themselves feminists. The problem, as with most things, is when you take it to an extreme.

That’s been the plan for a long time. Hopefully in 10 years time I’ll be able to enjoy my life more. But don’t think it’s been wasted either; I’ve traveled a lot and experienced quite a bit. 😂 but I really appreciate the advice, it’s good advice.

No no don’t waste your time. I’m just going off my own experiences and those of the people I know which could be entirely off base. Unfortunately I just don’t care enough to look at all the data, I’d rather do something else with my time. 😅 but I really do appreciate you posting all of the information and going through the work to look everything up, I know things aren’t as bad as I think here, it just seems that way sometimes. You’re right, I meant to say 60 hours a week* that was my bad on the typo! The information I provided might have sounded a little complicated (it did to me at first) so I’ll try and help you understand a bit better. If you work 10 hours a day for a period of time, the average over a period of six months (or 24 weeks) must not exceed 8 hours a day. This means that you can work 10 hours a day, 6 days a week, for 12 weeks straight, and it would be perfectly legal. Make sense? And if you say nobody …

Tbh man it sounds like you’re working just as much as everyone else in the office and you just don’t like working as many hours. You don’t list anything here about how many hours the other people in the office are working, or what your manager is working, but explain everything else. If everyone else is working 50-60 hours a week just like you, then how is it discrimination because you’re a man? LOL! Come on man. What world do you live in where people don’t work more than 38 hours a week? Everyone in any serious position works over 40 hours a week, they just don’t get paid for that extra time. At least in the US you can increase your annual income by getting paid for working 50 hours a week. Here in Germany it’s legal to work 70 hours a week and to only get paid for 40. Healthcare isn’t free either, you pay for it every month just like in the US, and the service is shit (at least recent…

Hmm. I’m not sure I understand. A woman has the right to abort in most states in the US at the moment, and has that right as well in many places in the world. That would be the choice to “opt out” of bearing the child, right? Or do you mean bearing the child to mean raising it? In which case you’re right, there is no choice for the woman. Once you get to a certain point you no longer have a choice as a woman; you either have to raise the child or give it up for adoption. I think that’s what you …

You’re right, I don’t think there’s any way of making it “balanced.” But if a woman has a choice to abort a baby, a man should have the choice to abandon responsibility of said baby. That’s about as fair as it could be. Either that or take away abortion rights, in which case neither side gets to choose. But that comes with a whole host of other issues, like rape victims not having the chance to abort a baby or at risk woman not having the chance to abort a baby. In my opinion keeping abortion fo…

I mean the guy has no choice here. You’re comparing a choice situation with a no choice situation. Both sides choose to have sex. Only one side gets to decide on keeping the results of that. A similar situation would be inheriting a house and mortgage that you didn’t want but are forced to pay by the government, and if you don’t pay for it you go to jail. You should be looking at it as “how can we even these things out so both sides have a choice” not “wow this guy didn’t get a say in the matter…

A good friend of mine, who happens to be very intelligent, was once arrested for something he didn’t do. He’s a big guy, and was so surprised that he pushed the cop back when he tried to arrest him. Not every one who hits a cop is an idiot or brainless; sometimes there’s so many emotions and doubt going on that you act on instinct for your own survival. I think you only can relate to situations like that if you’ve been in one.

You get enough attention from somewhere else, then you start hating the random attention from people you’re not interested in. There’s been times where I enjoyed the attention, sure, but there’s also been times where it’s just annoying. Not to mention it’s like, what do you do? Be rude so they get the message, be nice so they think you’re flirting? It’s a lose lose.
