I did something one step stupider and co-signed a very large business loan for my now ex. I stress out every month with fingers crossed that he makes the payment. I’m on the hook for another 3 years, and if he defaults, says fuck it, leaves the country, dies, etc, I’ll be responsible for repaying it with nothing to show for it. Not even half a house. I was a very very stupid girl. Lesson learned, and now I would never, but a bit too late. Never co-sign!! It’s a trap!

Your intuition is obviously telling you something is off. You don’t have to know what it is to trust your gut. Always always always trust your intuition, and the fact that your posting here at all is a good sign to call it.

I think some other examples are making yourself smaller to accommodate his ego. Like diminishing your own accomplishments, or covering for his bad behaviour with your friends, or tiptoeing around topics, or not holding firm to your boundaries. You’re not honouring yourself if you’re lowering yourself to accommodate his needs.
