Metric women want 175 cm, not 6 foot haha Maybe in Asia, but in Euro-land, 180cm (5'11") is the norm in 90% of profiles where a demand is levied, and 185 (6'1") is more common than bothering to list 175.

The difference here may be "including primary residence" or not. But, I'm fairly sure the original 37f poster was including home equity. (And BLS/Census always counts households, making things even messier). But, $1m net worth is ~12% of American (households). $2m is ~6% overall, and ~2.5% of households headed by someone 35-40. Well off, but only as rare as meeting a genuinely 6'3" guy among all US male adults (top 2.5%). And you get women looking for that every day. https://personalfinancedata.…

You'd be a fool to count on it continuing, but the last ten years have been a lot better than that. Inherit $250k 1/1/2012, put in in an S&P 500 Index, reinvest dividends, you'd be talking about $1.16 million on 1/1/2022 http://www.moneychimp.com/features/market_cagr.htm It's been a helluva ride. Probably a bit under a million now with the recent slide, but still. That and a 40% savings rate... $2m at 37 is like 97th percentile wealth for that age, but not 99.999th percentile or anything.

My lord, how either powerfully ugly, repellent, or insanely picky (or all three) would you have to be to not find a guy? I know the field. A DevOps conference has a 90/10 male/female ratio and damned near half of that 10% are trans-women. She has unavoidably been wanted and worshiped by dozens - hundreds - of six-figure guys. And yet, not a single one....

On the numbers bit, just because she has a well-paying career and presumably saves most of it (since she's citing FIRE concepts), doesn't mean she didn't also inherit a decent bit somewhere along the line. A quarter-mil 10 years back or a half-mil 5 years back would make it quite plausible.

Ah, Colombia. I'd have to imagine that being in the country with the most camgirls-per-capita of anywhere on earth (by a lot) would have to reduce simping in the local male population.

If she's "not here for sex" now, what are the chances she's going to be "here for sex" seven years from now when she's twenty pounds heavier, fully into menopause, has her mitts into your bank account, and is off whatever tiny bit of new relationship energy she can fake in the beginning? Zero-point-zero percent.

Like any good midlife crisis, it's all about the inevitable mortality. In her case, the giga-wall as you put it. Especially because after the hysterectomy, she stands a very good chance of losing any sex drive anyway, hormone replacement notwithstanding. This is the last chance she has to pull two guys in one night, do sloppy shit in a club bathroom, all those things she always wanted to. Very good chance she tries to patch it up with Billy ("for the kids") after a couple of years on the ride. S…

There are thousands of single, employed, cat-loving, bell hooks-reading sensitive new age guys out there. You just don't want to sleep with them. And no one else does either. If you did, there would be tens of thousands more.

Kinda my thought. I mean, people can barely recognize your huge-name porn starlets on the street, they look so wildly different in real-world amounts of makeup and clothing. I think it's her own "tell-tale heart" conscience playing around with her.

The poor damned kids. I think back to being 16 (when my mom was the age she is here), with her steady office job and playing piano in church. Jesus, it would have been so embarrassing to see her making videos like this.

A+ analysis. I would like to extend it just a smidgen though. Because (and, yes, I recognize this, on the surface, contradicts the standard AWALT story around here) there's also a whole issue of dead bedrooms to throw in the mix. There's a variety of reasons and theories. Inability to bond. Alpha-widowing. The effects of extremely widespread antidepressants and hormonal birth control drugs. Cultural cues from Dworkin to Evangelical purity culture. On down the list. If a man is on a date with a w…

Considering her market value, her sane-world match is a guy who has had virtually no 'fun' thrown his way, ever. A 10th-percentile all-but-incel 23-27 year old guy. Who finally has his own apartment, a functional car, and a steady job. Finally ready to have just a little fun before he hooks up to the ox-cart. The "I'm not here for fun" (because she's had quite a bit of it in the last 7-8 years, a lot more than he can even dream of) is a god-damned slap in the face to him. And that's by design.

Honestly, nothing in her post, outside of a conjectured hope that one would've grown at least a little as a 30-something mother-of-two, even hinted at the fact that she's looking for commitment from a higher-value man.

Dating apps will surely bring her SMV down to earth, both metapforically and literally. Dating apps, assuming she's in a larger city, could get her 365 "let me show you my tattoos" dicks over the next 365 days, no problem whatsoever. How is that doing anything but launching her self-estimated SMV to the stratosphere?

She is, undoubtedly, not beauty blessed. That said, in some non-bizarro world, her sweet personality (and non-pregnant status) would be enough that some similarly ugly but hard-working truck driver could totally grow to be used to that face. They might even, by random genetic fluke, have a not-so-ugly kid. (More likely though, worst of both worlds). But, we live in this world, where she went with knocked up, picky, and raging bitch. And it's a strong hand.

She may well have maximized the number of baby daddies, but almost certainly not chosen them for extractive potential. Jason's in prison and Mikey's back out sleeping in a tent in the park. She's not getting a dime of child support from either of them.

9% is rare-ish in one sense. A little more rare than being left-handed (12-15%). The problem is that if lefties were for the most part, for some reason, considered WAY WAY more attractive than right-handed people, the competition for that 12-15% would be fierce and you'd better have more than a dishwater personality and a "photo that came with the frame" face. Even if you were a fellow lefty! Six figure income isn't that rare. But, to within rounding error, every woman wants it. And don't want e…

The die was cast in her 20s, as it so often is. If her picker wasn't broken back then, she'd be some blue-collar's wife of 15+ years with two kids in middle/high school. And if you're a sweaty 40-something blue-collar guy, she's no uglier than most of your friends wives. No more overweight. And if she was still actually sexual (a big if), you've done quite a bit better than the other guys down at the plumbing supply company. Congratulations. A) her hormones are screaming "settle down, feather the nest, feather the nest" at 120 dB. You ever deal with a feral pregnant cat deciding "now would be a great time to consider an indoor lifestyle and human-provided food" about 4 days before she gives birth? Same idea. B) A lot of women are in fact more physically attractive 3-5 months pregnant (she obviously missed that boat since she's looking at 7+ months) than they will be for at least 18 months post birth as a sleep-deprived puked-on baby…

I’d go out each weekend to my local night club; Ikon/ Diva, dressed in sky-high heels and wearing a clear Lancome Juicy Juice lip gloss. I’d drink WKD, Smirnoff Ice followed by a pink sambuca shot (or 5) and somehow I was always chatted up. I went to the coal mine every weekend for a decade. Never found a single goddamned diamond. I'm not quite buying in, but I'm also not going to disagree either. Because it reflects a bigger point. Men's tastes are more variant. Probably some deep bio-evo reasons for it. But, while a 10 is a 10, I'd suggest that somewhere between 40% and 50% of women were some guy's 8 or 9, at least at her peak of attractiveness. (One point in the other direction... a lot more women of any age will find a top-tier guy in his 50s attractive than the other way around). And guys will have pretty strong crus…

I've even tried the "old school method" of just trying to talk to someone at a bar or a show, which feels IMPOSSIBLE because no one can communicate to you as a woman unless it's through a tiny, fucking screen. It's exceptionally unlikely that m'lady was actually going up to run-of-the-mill guys at bars and shows and initiating conversations herself. Oh yeah. Take Mormonism. They're always out their recruiting to the church. But, no convert is ever, *ever* going to be good enough for Molly Mormon... gotta be a 3rd+-generation returned missionary. As well as 6'+ and all the usual. So if you start to hang around them thinking, "maybe I'll find a wholesome gal in Mormon-land", nope. It's the most amazing and counter-productive thing. As their appeal retreats, as their options narrow... they get MORE picky. Not less. A market failure if there ever was one. At 30 (and more so 35), they're looking for the whole package. If he doesn't make 6 figures by 35, he's never going to (and that's more or less true). But, he's got to be better than the rose-tinted memories of the two dozen guys before him.

The "she's not so bad" comments are both sorta right and very, very wrong. In the right alternate universe, where she married some blue-collar tyre-fitter or JCB driver, 10 years ago, is still married to him, SAHM with their two kids, studying for a job after the kids are in school full-time... she seems pretty solid. He deffo could have done worse. As a 33-year-old single mum on the dating market, though, she needs a lot more hook than that.

To be even more specific, men between 25 and 105 will typically stay in status quo with a wife who publishes low readership man-grype books and has sex with him begrudgingly 3 times a year. Until Option B ("bail me out daddy") shows up that is, and for a whole lot of guys, his first serious Option B will indeed show up around age 45-50. Not that Option B isn't even a worse choice than sticking with Option A was (he should have left A years ago, then never settled down again). But, as Chris Rock …

"But why does she think that advertising her whoring ways is a good idea?" A) Most women cannot understand that men are not looking for the same in women that women are in men. She's attracted to men who have 50+ person counts. So she assumes men must be attracted to the same, and so is proud that she gets around. B) Most women cannot understand that there is no carousel for average men. There are men out there exactly on her level. Single 30-year-old guys in the 25th-30th percentile of looks. W…

A Brady Brunch type of deal I guess. You raise mine, I raise yours. Sort of. In reality, and I think she at some level is counting on it, it's rarely that fair. Unless his baby momma is dead or literally in prison, he quite likely has his kid/s 3-5 days per month. She has hers 25+ days and a decent chance of absolute custody. If she meets a man who has his kid/s full-time, or is spending 70% of his income in child support, I don't think the bargain gets struck.

Why the f not? My mom had a good five, realistically six inches on my dad. They stayed married to the grave. The world didn't end, no laws natural or man-made were violated. So, again, why the f not? If she were willing to date a 5'7" guy, good chance she wouldn't be on f-ing Tinder.

What the "I want a farm guy" women don't get is how much that has changed, in terms of land prices and capital expenses. Anyone under 30, really 35 in the business is either working his dad's land (which he'll eventually inherit), or working someone else's. After that, late 30s, you also get guys who are city boys in finance or business who buy hobby farms. But, a 20-something guy who owns enough land (and has enough cash) for you to play with your horses all day? They just don't exist. She shou…

If you've ever wanted a makeup-soused pilot-hopping flight attendant, the market is SATURATED. The major airlines save Southwest (so far) all laid off simultaneously, as soon as the stimulus/bailout from back in April dried up. Including regionals, there are easily 35,000 FAs furloughed in the US alone. Far more than pilots, because pilots are harder to recruit back when and if travel returns. As such, about 20,000 FAs have, in the last six weeks, doe-eye-begged their homebase boytoy, "so... why…

It could be that your life is there to serve as a negative role model to your daughters. A warning. If you got a beta bailout at 30, it would teach your daughters that they, too, could party their way through whatever dating apps are popular from 2032-2040 and then find some dumb guy to leech off of after the party stops. This is known in economics and actuarial science as a Moral hazard.

Reality, 6'1"+ pixie sticks get picked overwhelmingly. And in a way it makes complete sense. If you have very, very little to go on when rolling your dice, you naturally are going to max out the one verifiable heritable stat you have at hand. The "high school grad" requirement is because nearly all the donors are college frat boys making beer money.

In the West, "I've got a BA from SUNY-Oswego" leaves you at dead-center average. You could marry a truck driver or a doctor. In China, college-educated-professional is still 5% of the population, men or women. If college-educated women demand college-educated men, and college-educated men have basically no preference at all (really, an anti-preference, because a non-college-gal is going to be younger), something like 95% of those women are going to end up disappointed.

"Men 25-35" is a fairly big tell. Because most of those women went on their extended-summer-of-self-discovery... their religious rumspringa... before 25 rolled around. Churchy 18-22 year old guys got burned out before they ever became "worldly-wise" (read... reasonable earnings) 25 year old men. And the fruit of that experiment? My God it's single mom city. Doesn't matter the specifics... ChristianMingle, the Catholic sites, the Mormon sites, JDate... even Muslim sites... it's just one 30-going-…

Indians care about one thing and one thing only: social status. There's that. It's not a dillema... it's a trilemma. Tingles, security, or social status bullshit. Why not. There are a whole lot of systems analysts out there. Women are a distinct minority in the field, but like a 20-25% minority, not unicorns or something. They're plenty more common than working women in brute-endurance male dominated jobs (firefighting, welding, fishing). And, (my opinion) as many of them are as good at their jobs as the men (which is to say... some are, some aren't). However, dating? Or you can learn to accept guys' preferences for what they are, and become the type of woman they're attracted to (for long-term relationships and not pump-n-dumps). I'd argue this is pretty hollow advice. Because a guy can hope to gain muscles, spine, and bank-account digits. Maybe not inches in height, but the rest he can at least make strides toward. A woman simply can't become a cheerful 19 year old virgin without tattoos who likes to bake cookies again.

Hat tip to Dr. Maslow's pyramid. 'Caring' is up there in the esteem category (when performative) to the self-actualization (when not). When Mr Liberal isn't getting affection, sex, or kids (more often than not), Maslow's hierarchy says he can certainly continue to care about all those things. They may find unstable eighteen year olds hot, but most would be very, very happy to settle down with a 27-year-old grade two schoolteacher who smiles a lot, likes kids, and doesn't have a bloody Guardian blog entitled "This Week in Patriarchy".

Hard to say it fits the topic of this /r/. Very little to indicate that she ever made or will even now ever make the slightest effort to search for a 'good man'. And, if she *had* settled for some nice-enough DBA 20 years back, where would she be now, what with the career-impeding mommy penalties? Some 3-bed split-level in Garland, TX with hubby #2 and his kid on alternate weekends? Think of all the techs that would have gone unmarketed! Think of the techs!

It's honestly a little forward-looking. Look, maw here is going to look a lot better at 7 months pregnant... getting plenty of sleep, not covered in shiat, little pregnancy glow, strangers being nicer to a visibly preg gal than they are to a woman with an infant, & (optimistically) pretty sober than she's going to look at baby+4 months. Tired, drained, and pissy. She's going to age about six years in the next six months. And that's why you take those photos now and make some effort to catch a si…

'iam', 'iam'... a whole lot of iams. Which, coincidentally, is the brand of cat food she won't be able to afford to buy for her growing collection of cats in twenty years.

Any man trying to improve his financial station through dating or marriage has been seriously misled I beg to differ just a bit. I work in an academic profession that is largely female. There are a lot of well-educated, reasonably well-paid women (with 'can I speak to your manager' haircuts) who gave up on the whole package and so married friendly dumb 'Golden Retrievers' of husbands. Barely self-employed, plays in no-pay bar rock bands, good with her 1-2 kids (as he's a man-child himself), and,…

My translation is completely different. Her 'last military man' was an online scammer using pictures of a middle-aged officer in uniform to get her to send thousands and thousands of dollars (her own, and credit card advances) to Nigeria. A lot of those targeting post-wall women (and ultra thirsty 50-year-old men, too). Having an IQ of 80, she is only partially disabused of the idea that her romance scammer is real. Her inability to distinguish scam from reality eventually got her kids taken fro…

At 41. You aren't going to be sought after much by guys under 45. Fine. The single 47-year-olds who are tingle-inducing and sexually adventurous have had 50+ partners and are spinning two or more right now (top-20%ers emeritus). They have absolutely no interest in spending hundreds of dollars and a waiting a month listening to you natter on about feefees. The far more common single 47-year-old men are the betas who married the first or second woman to sex them (several years into college). She n…

STEM... great deal of variation. Law? Really, REALLY depends on the school. The Thomas Cooley Law School of Lansing Michigan (currently famous for graduating Trump's lawyer Cohen) has the largest enrollment of any law school in the US. Their median LSAT score is 141. Best estimate correlation to IQ (and LSAT score correlates very well.. 0.7 or so, to IQ) suggests that their median student has roughly a 91 IQ, and students under 85 IQ would be common. Worse than your average small town Indiana hi…

It is, but not much more so than any other OLD site. Heck, I've trawled around a little bit on the Mormon dating sites, just to get a feel for anything more traditional (even though I'm not LDS, particularly conservative, or even looking). And, even there, single moms are the overwhelming majority above age 25 or so. Whole lot more tattoos than I was expecting, too.

What a gold mine. Poe's Law and all, I keep thinking it's some joke, but also so believable. https://www.twentynineandterrified.com/meet-jessi/ Living at home, working part-time for dad... what do that call that in men? And, I don't care what your grades were, trying to fly a "cum laude" qualifier to your degree in Business Management from Cal State Fresno is absolutely hilarious.

Why 25 pictures? Because, in its mercy, Craigslist wouldn't let her post her favorite two hundred and 25. At least she managed to post the three with a smile.. I'm fairly sure those are the only ones of those.

My suspicion is that Tinder ITSELF lies to her. Tinder, the ad platform, needs as many women as it can get swipe swipe swiping. Dick is abundant and low value. But, start showing too many uggos... women switch to Candy Crush. So, my theory is that Tinder is itself adding preselection bias to the math. Guys who get likes get shown all the more. It's what I'd (cynically) do. It's what other dating programs have done since matches were calculated on PDP-10s. If I'm right in that, she doesn't feel l…

I like a guy who can be in charge and be sort of rough in bed. Ma'am, you may have not been a part of it, but we've kinda gone through a social moment over the last 5 years. You may say you like something. You can text him back the next day and say that was fun (thinking of the Ghomeshi case). And, then, four years and two therapists later, it wasn't, and it's time for a public callout. Sure, plenty of daredevils out there. But, for a guy with a decent job and cash... rough in bed is flirting wi…

Happy mother's day. I mean, it's a bit sad for me since my mom's been gone for over a decade. But, this sub is wonderful for putting it all into perspective. I get to remember my mom as a church choir singing, employed, non-face-tatted woman and know just how lucky I was compared to today's median child. That said, I'm not quite sure she makes the cut for the sub... very little to suggest she's actually looking for a 'good man' yet.

Nice. With this final sentence she perfectly confirmed that she is indeed as annoying as she comes across in her profile. You've got to figure that happens a lot for her. So, I'm supposed to decide based on a one-paragraph profile that I want to chat you up ad infinitum? Pass. Also, last picture? Heroin's my guess.

"My first lesson on the importance of looking good came from my own mum, now a 56-year-old beautician, who never left the house unless she was perfectly groomed and made up. By the time I was 12, I'd learned to apply make-up perfectly, and I took great pride in my appearance." Generations and generations of completely wasted oxygen...

Avon, Scentsy, and probably Jamberry if she can ever save up for the starter pack. The most worrying line is the 'Homeschool' up top. Might mean that Brandine is herself homeschooled. Or, it might (and very possibly does) mean that she's raising those five kids feral in the trailer. The 2040 elections are gonna be great.

Again, per se, no. But, when it outlasts 'honest' and 'not a jerk'... you got problems. What else does it outrank... 'doesn't beat me' or 'doesn't use meth'? (Unspoken... height bias also means you have a nice reason to dismiss 99% of asian/indian/hispanic men... which I'm sure she wouldn't want to admit). She reminds me a decent bit of my chunky tall mom. Who did marry a man 5 inches shorter. I suspect that in the 'affirm the snowflake' modern era, she would never have done that.

Jesus Carol. Your 9 AM bus is filled fellow blondo-20s who flit from non-profit to tourist-trade to diversity number hire ("it's QA!") at the tech firms. Preferably with dad in Dayton paying for half your Oakland apartment. The Good Men were on the bus at 6 to get to work as linemen and cooks and trash truck drivers. Not that you wanted a damned thing to do with a one of them.

Slight read between the lines. Carol here has vaginismus. Somewhere along the line, whether abuse or not, she got head-case freaked out about piv sex. Her 'avoid pregnancy' line is her rationalization for the fact that she's too far up her own arse to seek counseling/therapy for it (the therapy which her simp ex-hub probably begged her for, for 11 years). Further conjecture, I bet the "love any and all other" actually translates to "I'll touch you once a month, anal on your birthday". Well, jump…
