I agree with you about ‘gaslighting,’ but I’m fine with the other two.

I assure you they did not.

It’s not even sex, some of them are just afraid of being labeled a sexist or want to prove how virtuous they are.

It’s a fact that men/women can’t understand each other or that you shouldn’t trust women? I was commenting on the first part of your comment, about not trusting them, not the second part. I don’t think the gulf between men/women’s mutual understanding is that vast (although, some people seriously overestimate their ability), but we can agree to disagree on that.

I don’t think either sex needs the other, and the chronic loneliness these women are going to be hit with in a few years isn’t going to help them become any less bitter towards men.

That’s sexist (assuming you necessarily trust them less than men) 2. As long as she’s not a feminist, or a tradcon, then I’d say she’s sounds pretty cool

I think it depends more on the person. People, in general, can care a lot about other people’s opinions. It seems more common for the men to care about women’s opinions than men’s, from what I’ve seen.

I don’t know if it’s more/less common, but it seems to be more acceptable (it not encouraged) in some circles. Sexism against women is absolutely a thing on social media, but I suppose the difference lies in the reaction to the pushback. If someone says something sexist about a woman/women, you can rightfully call them out and not get shamed for it. If someone says something sexist about a man/men, calling them out makes you sound like an MRA or a misogynist. It seems like, to some people, defen…

Nope. I’ve almost never had the experience that I couldn’t vent to my friends about my problems, male or female. When I’m looking for advice, it’s almost always a solution I’m after, I get both from both halves nonetheless. I’d argue it’s the other way around. Romantic relationships can more easily replace friendships, but depending on how well your relationship is with your partner, you might find yourself viewing your friends as an escape from your partner. For example, if you don’t think you …

We shouldn’t generalize about women any more than men, there are plenty of decent women out there, this woman just doesn’t seem to be one of them. Pitting men against women like feminists did for women against men will only feed into a cycle that helps no one (except the people that thrive from this kind of conflict). You’re right though that disengagement and independence are important skills for countering them. In general, the “grey rock method” is a useful technique for dealing with their mi…

Kind of like the point Shoe0nHead made in her recent video: that “the Left” is more concerned with recruitment than actual support.

Exactly, it’s sounds like she just wants to be the arbiter of what is masculine/how men should be allowed to live their lives.

I just think framing things around gender too much does more to exacerbate sexism than it does to fix it. When it comes to mental stuff: You’re a person, I’m a person, let’s leave it at that.

No. The gender of the speaker doesn’t/shouldn’t matter, just the quality of the jokes. Whether the roster was all male or all female that night isn’t relevant. The show is called, Kill Tony, he invites random people on to try their luck at comedy. He can make his own calls if he wants to, but it was a sexist call. While this isn’t legal affirmative action, it’s still AA in principle. The underrepresentation in question seems to be more the result of a lack of involvement on the part of the women…

I agree. I was making a joke about the hypocrisy of people who claim they want to promote equality/break gendered rules but then go and invent a million discriminatory practices against men. Or those people who claim that chivalry is patriarchal, but demand that you “ReSpAcT WaHmEn” and put them on a pedestal of fragility (which is, you know, chivalry). I probably could have communicated that better… 🤷‍♂️

I’m not really into chivalry, or gender roles, or double standards 🤷‍♂️

Men not being able to open up isn’t the only issue men face, in fact, not all men even face it (that much or at all) to begin with. Sexism and discrimination against men is a growing problem that isn’t always confronted properly, sometimes it’s rewarded/encouraged. Much of the complaints people have on this sub are connected to just that, facing anti-male discrimination.

There are a lot of sexist people all across social media, in both directions. I definitely see plenty of sexist comments/posts on this sub; fortunately, not everyone here is like that and there are a lot of decent people on this sub. I don’t really use the Feminism sub, but I have been on TwoXChromosomes and FDS… both are an absolute shithole in terms of sexism, same goes for a lot of places/people on Instagram. If you’re 15m, the best advice I can give you is to stop scrolling through either Me…

I’m not sure either gender is more in touch with their own emotions, I think it depends on the person. Maybe women are more inclined to express/articulate their emotions openly/in a very specific way, but that doesn’t mean they’re in touch with them.
/r/MensRights28/11/23 12:53 AM

Because you’re expressing yourself/emotions on your own terms rather being the person they’re trying to program you to be. Facts are dangerous to people whose entire ideology is built on lies.

I’m a liberal. I vote left because I am left. Ultimately, it depends on how you define liberal/conservative. As time passes, the definition of conservative is always growing and liberal is always changing. A 1950’s conservative is not the same thing as a 2008 conservative, nor is a 2008 liberal identical to a 2023 liberal. A liberal from 2008 is, by today’s standards, somewhat (if not outright) conservative. I consider myself a conservative in that I consider myself a liberal by 2008 standards. …

Being assertive is a good thing, regardless of gender. The problem is that some people confuse being rude, insulting, and going out of your way to sabotage/undermine others with assertiveness and strength.
