Not the person you replied to, but it looks like the study is named "Psychological Well-Being as a Predictor of Casual Sex Relationships and Experiences among Adolescents: A Short-Term Prospective Study". I got this URL by looking at the link the other person sent. https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/s10508-016-0914-0

US or UK? "Do some research" - "statistics also show that 💀" and then proceeds to provide precisely 0 statistics. Again, why are you in a debate space? Genuinely sickening smugness. Men reported more loneliness than women. College-aged males reporting significantly more loneliness than females. Men are much less likely to report feeling lonely due to social attitudes towards men and women, likely skewing data even further in favour of disproportionately many males being lonely. Men are much more…

Lmao you thinking these enourmous porn companies care about anything besides profit. The abundance of male-centric porn is a simple result of market forces - supply and demand, not some grand patriarchal conspiracy to repress female sexuality.

"my personal solipsism makes me feel sorta like men have it better in the UK". Why are you on a debating space?

You're missing the point. Statistically, it's beyond implausible that a majority of the men at your college are "anything but deprived". What about that guy at the back of your class you've never heard speak because his social anxiety is too overpowering? What about the unattractive guy who showed up to 2 lectures at the start of semester before retreating into himself? What about the guy who's so damaged he hasn't left his room in 4 days? You probably overlook them because they don't, or can't,…

Honestly a great question. It's really hard to introspect about this and I'll reiterate that I think it's mostly involuntary. I doubt I'd be interested in a long term partnership with any promiscuous female friend. I've realised while typing that my disapproval seems to correlate strongly with how much I care about them. My partner, or my sister? I'd hate it. A friend of mine? I'd dislike it. An acquaintance I see once a week? Ehh. A club girl with her ass hanging out of her skirt? Wouldn't care…

TLDR: my response to male promiscuity seems to come from my conscious mind; for female promiscuity it feels more involuntary. Do you have a high body count? Might be slightly above average but not super high. I've always preferred longer, more intimate relationships to disconnected encounters. However I think my attitudes probably wouldn't be much different even if I'd been with hundreds of women. I'm aware this is illogical, but I don't think there's any logic-ing my way out of this. There are …

The whole point is that this fundamentally isn't a question of logic. A woman who's creepily obsessed with a man she finds extremely attractive will still find an unattractive man revolting if he obsesses over her in the same way. It looks illogical because it is illogical, but that doesn't invalidate the reality that it's something experienced by the vast majority of men. I'm pretty sure it's a biological thing that women can't really understand. Trying to explain it feels like trying to explai…

There's something I never understand. Why do people always say "men's enthusiasm for having sex" when the real issue is that men and women have different levels of interest in sex? Calling it "women's lack of enthusiasm for sex" refers to exactly the same thing, but the inherent bias in the statement is much more obvious.

This is quite honestly the least helpful answer I've ever seen in my life. You aren't seriously telling me you didn't understand what OP meant.

It's remarkable how every woman gleefully thinks they're the first one to bark the predictable "yOu MuSt NeVEr HavE mAde WOmeN hORnY" insult at someone stating the long-known fact that men have higher libidos than women. And it is a fact. Here's a recent meta-analysis, as if one was needed. Not likely you're ever going to read it. Women love to enforce the narrative that they are secretly much more sexual than they're "allowed" to be because it feels like glorious empowerment in the face of patr…

Doesn't look like you're ever going to change your mind. This article feels relevant. It's part of the vast medical bias women have to experience and you're just realizing now that it also affects this kind of data You seem to take perverted pleasure in ending your messages with a smug assumption about me. No such bias exists, and, unsurprisingly, you've failed to provide a source that explains your point. Thanks for the "debate". You have yourself a good one.

You're not arguing anything anymore You're the one disregarding scientific literature and refusing to provide sources of your own. I'm not going to waste my time trawling 211 studies to find a study that matches your impossibly narrow criteria. a much smaller demographic to base an entire assumption off of than an entire matriarchal tribe ...what? If I understand you right, you feel you're part of some "matriarchal tribe" which invalidates this study? I'll quote the abstract of the meta analysis…

I don't think it's registering for you that you need to read things before talking them. 10 seconds of scrolling the included studies points me here, where the studied women are aged 18-87 years. You're hyper fixating on a moot point Because you're hyper fixating on avoiding it? further removing my entire point Funny. I thought I was "further proving your whole point". When did you switch from proud victor to snivelling victim?

there is no proof men are hornier than women You still refuse to mention the meta analysis. This must be the 5th time I've brought it up. Your denial minds me of a flat earther. There are no inclusion of women in most of this research Have I told you about the meta analysis yet?

never claimed that women have higher libidos You argued at every opportunity when presented with evidence that men have higher libidos. Here you "debunk" someone saying that women aren't as horny as men. Here you pull the classic "muh social conditioning" in response to studies concluding that men are hornier than women. If you agreed, you shouldn't have argued. your scientific evidence only covered menopausal women and monkeys Remember that meta analysis? Oh wait, you wouldn't, you never read i…

"Startling breakthrough reveals women have higher libidos than men, overturning decades of research - Reddit user Zombombaby claims to be part of feminist porn thread". I provided scientific evidence that women are less horny than men. When that didn't penetrate your skull I tried making it easier for you to understand. Clearly I didn't make it easy enough.

I'll believe that when there are as many male strippers and prostitutes as their female counterparts. The only reason we won't reach a conclusion is because you ignore evidence that challenges your viewpoint. Instead of commenting on the metaanalysis you predictably resort to ad hominem once again.

It needs to be pointed out that you're still avoiding talking about the metaanalysis. Women aren't just as horny as men and I still don't know why you think that. The only source you provided is that article, which, ironically, I've mentioned more times than you now.

It's breathtaking how many times you've moved the goalposts. First you think your bogus feminist article is an "easy debunk" and proudly titter that men aren't hornier than women. After being confronted with a meta-analysis of more than half a million individuals (where the possibility of biased responding is highlighted, before being overturned by the overwhelming evidence to the contrary), you then quietly shift your argument to testosterone. After being confronted with studies conclusively li…

The irony of someone calling anything a "fact of life in the medical field" whilst arguing that men don't have higher sex drives than women is incredible. I guess we're also going to quietly ignore the meta-analysis now. It's pretty telling that you instead chose to hyper-focus in on the testosterone study. Your study is just a study on testosterone A correlation between testosterone and sex drive would be extremely relevant here. any literal fertile women aren't studied medically In the same st…

All your sources point out the same conclusion I did: there's not enough research Which sources? point out the same conclusion I did Your conclusion, verbatim, was "In conclusion, no, men aren't hornier than women. Ultimately, it's an individual scale, not a gendered thing". I haven't found a single independent study that reaches this conclusion. we're often legally and mandatorily excluded from medical studies by default Once again, you fail to provide a source. In the abstract of the meta anal…

Nice "debunk". The author of that article is a history graduate with no medical background and recently left his job as a professor because he had too many affairs with his female students. But, sure, I guess his article debunks decades of consistent research because it cites a feminist book that promises to explore the work of "renowned behavioral scientists, sexologists, and psychologists". Funny how there seem to be precisely zero studies that reach this conclusion. If you're really going to …
