I don't mean to be rude or come off as pessimistic. But according to a morgan stanley report 50percent of women between the ages of 22 to 45 in US will be single and childless by 2030, So statistically the odds are against us. Even if you change everything about you the circumstances of this day and age is not in your favor. And that is something you can't control.

She is driven by a fear of sexual rejection or abandonment. Deep down she want to be desired but may feel like she isn't good enough. Her lack of success with the opposite sex is the problem maybe. This could be just a phase, if it persists you probably should consider walking away.

I've been on medication for 4 years. I rarely have symptoms now. And my social life is petty normal. To answer your question I am not really sure. I haven't stopped medication as of yet. Don't know if symptoms will return once I do.

I also have suffered from maladaptive day dreaming. Being on medication (SSRI) really helps. You should consult a therapist. Medication can really help mitigate symptoms of MaDD. For me personally it lead to a change in my behavior and increased my productivity.
