It seems boys fo better at math, and girls do better at reading. yes that's true in representative samples as well. Most of those show either no difference or a slight advantage for men but none replicate the 7 point difference found in Nyborg 2005, which is where that graph you posted came from. I can link some studies in 2 hours if you are interested.
