I've just watched, but I know most of that already. I see it every day. Perfectly conceivable to me but I'm not fucking leaving Britain yet. This is my home. Plus, I am not to going leave for somewhere that'll I'll only be seen as an outsider anyway. There's still enough people here resisting this shit and it'll grow stronger the most they antagonise us.

I might start doing IG videos too.

I was reading How to Win Friends and Influence People this morning actually and there's this bit about Lincoln and how he never used to berate or degrade his opponents. He wasn't soft by any means, he just understood it was a terrible way to get people on side. And he did pretty well. So yeah, all of what has been said above + avoiding the desire to openly criticise EVEN if you want to and EVEN if it's valid. It's not a good strategy. Instead, if you're reading this and you want to go on Faceboo…

I care about it. I'm interested in it (political theory, not so much party politics) but I don't prioritise it over self improvement or the shit that I can actually influence. Oh, and, don't argue about it with people on the internet. Work out what you stand for and make your points if ever needed, you should have a strong and confident idea of how society should be structured and the type of place you want to live in but also appreciate things are complex. But whatever you do don't cry like a l…

Exactly. I'd argue it's not too late at 39, or 49 either. Even at 49 it's conceivable you're going to live for another 50 years. Might as well make the most of them.

This is the best one. My biggest regret is probably that I didn't lift weights until I was about 22 and then I was playing catch up. A lot of the lads I know at University were lifting properly from 18 and it showed. Also, paying too much attention to what others think. I was actually pondering this last night. Marcus Aurelius has a quote on not letting those men who can't meet their own standards get into your head. It's right. Be selective about who you listen to and definitely do NOT base whe…

Considering that we hold stoic thinking up as something to aspire toward on this sub both this post and the replies are pretty depressing.

Firstly, thank you for your reply. Given the amount of people who post here I appreciate you reading and then providing some thoughts. So, I started small intuitively after my post on Friday. Specifically working on amused mastery. Joking with her. Letting that confidence shine though. I know what I need to do, it's just developing new habits in this area. Anyway, we had sex on Saturday night. She instigated it. Progress. But still, I need to keep the momentum up so I will endeavour to take your…

Firstly, thanks for taking the time to read and reply. I appreciate it given the volume of submissions. Ironically, she doesn't look up to her Mother in that way. I referenced her parents because she has seen her dad be pretty blue pill with her Mum, and thus I wonder if she thinks all men should be like that? But that doesn't mean her Mother leads. My wife sees herself as the head of her family. She's the one they go to in times of crisis, if that makes sense? Anyway, good advice regardless and…

You know what the answer is, don't you mate? Stop getting annoyed. There's absolutely nothing you can do about other people. It's a key pillar of Stoic thinking. When you find yourself getting annoyed. Take a step back and refocus on to something you can control. Some of them will work it out, some won't. And if you can't ignore, reframe. You have an advantage over all of them. But try to stop getting annoyed.

I've saved this on my phone. Going to glance it at whenever I'm being a little whiney bitch.

This is a fantastic post. I have frequently fallen back on self depreciation too often.

I'll second this. I am working from home and have been getting up every morning at the same time and ironing a smart shirt for the day. Not an office shirt, but a shirt. Why? Because I'm still working. I have shit to do. Honestly, this might be bigger than some of you think. If you get up when you want and dress like a lazy bastard, you'll become a lazy bastard.

This is a common theme but 2 is by far the hardest. Especially when you've been the kind of person who doesn't fucking shut up for 30 years like I have.

I've improvised. There's a concrete plank I have in the garden which was once a fence post. It probably weighs about 25kg to 30kg. Good for overhead press and front squat. The rest is me waking up at 6am to do Kettlebell or bodyweight before my little girl wakes up. As someone else said, use this time productively and adapt. If you're struggling, what's the alternative? Think about it. Your gym may not open for six months. If you don't do anything what will you look like in 6 months? Oh, and be …

Important to remember that last bit sometimes. I know most of us, by our very nature, are very hard on ourselves. We want more and always know we can do better. Of course, that's what spurs us on and helps us achieve things but sometimes it's also important to remember that just doing the above frequently and competently, without being a tyrant to oneself, means we are ahead of the game and better than about 80% of our fellow modern men.

I've broken the STFU rule to say that this might be the best post I have read on here.
