Not saying that only men are awful. I am just saying that whatever the situation was because none of us know it. It must have felt pretty awful. That is it.

It must have been a pretty terrible experience for her to just give all that up including the kids just to get away from you.

The parent who has the kids more than 60% of the time gets to deduct them on their taxes.

Don't know If it helps but do it now! My STBX took 2 years made us buy a house completely remodel it, we spent over 950K . to just sell it in a year of course we didn't recoup. Also committed fraud with the IRS, he also took me to two trips before telling me. All of that cowardness helped me in court to proof that he is not good with money so now he is broke, and all his stock options and bonuses are retained by the court. So just do it. It hurts way more when you don't.

She can't. There must be a clause that she can't steal, spend a lot of money or sell any items of the communal property.

No, I don't agree. My STBX and I had sex after 19 years at least 3-4 times a week and we spiced it up. He still cheated and the sadest part is that I found out because the girl contacted me. It was all his lack of communication of how he felt. He told me that it was because he hated his job and bc he felt I was crazy bc I was going to therapy to cope with the fact that we had a kid with special needs. So yeah. Cheating shouldn't be an option. But if you do NEVER justify it and never blame the ot…

See this issues are not about a sub reddit or not. Is about human beings. Honor and respect should be in both genders. I have seen posts of men hurting here and I have supported them. Bc regardless of the gender of the affected party. Pain is pain.

And??? Being a man or a woman doesn't excuse you from treating people with respect. Specially when that person helped you and supported you through it all.

This hits so close to home my STBX broke and destroyed our family due to lack of communication. 19 years of my life went to the toilet just because he can not communicate. The sad part of it all is that I learned to live with that. However he couldn't and told me that he wasn't happy because he couldn't find the words to express his feelings and needed for us to divorce to find who he was. So fuck me, fuck our kids fuck our life.

She might forgive but never forget, and if she asks you 10K times, you will have to address the 10K times the issue. You fucked up. Broke the trust and betrayed her. The fact that she hasn't gone forward with the divorce is amazing to me. You DO NOT! get to play the victim. You made your bed so now lay on it.

I agree with all the gentlemen here. Please take accountability for your actions. You knew exactly what you were doing that kind of naive thought of "It came out of the blue without me noticing" is BS. You betrayed your wife.

You need a lawyer ASAP. I do not know how does it work in the UK. But here in the US if you are caught or admit to false allegations, you go to jail. Are u sure the kids are better off with her?

Going through the same. My STBX told me 6 months ago my autistic baby is 7 years old. We are going through a painful divorce.

The thing about fighting it is just to make sure that the fight is not more than the 2K. My lawyer charges 500 per hour. If it is going to take you more than 4 hrs to fight, it is not worth it. My lawyer told me about a case that they fought for a salt and pepper shaker that in attorney fees was over 20K in divorce cases u have to keep a cool head. It is clear to me that the only purpose of your ex spouse is to make you miserable. But don't give her that satisfaction. Lawyers want you to be as l…

Exactly he left for three weeks somewhere for the holidays because he didn't wanted to be here (thank God) and my kids haven't asked for him. He didn't called them on Xmas or bought a present or anything. He was never like this.
/r/Divorce_Men28/12/24 05:06 AM

He can't take care of the kids and their schedules. Due to his work schedule. Actually when I take like 2-3 hrs he gets upset. He is the one that requested the divorce. He is the one that served me with papers first. He is the one that wanted to leave to find himself. And yet he is the one that doesn't leave. So your logic doesn't work here. He dissolved the family. He wanted to leave. Why doesn't he leave.

Thank you!!! My husband asked for the divorce and he refuses to leave and doesn't want me to leave either. Is so frustrating.

Well yes but he is making his own bed. He decided to also not pay taxes for 400K and the IRS is auditing us for 240K. I know this doesn't help his stress but It is affecting me too. I did stall the process in case of being 3 months I told him I wanted the kids to finish the school year. It has been 4 months but it is taking a toll on my mental and emotional health as well. I've lost over 25 lbs, cry myself to sleep almost every night and my rage is taking the best of me. I exercise a lot, go to …

I was trying to do that. However he presented me with papers. So I retained a lawyer as well. In my state I need to respond within 30 days or I loose everything including my kids. Honestly I am just reacting to his actions.

Yes, I will be the first one in my family in like forever that will be divorced. It is heartbreaking. Yes, he had some what childhood trauma.

Do you mean Mid life crisis? Yes 100% but that doesn't mean that is OK what he is doing to our family. He got angry that I hired a lawyer after he served me with papers first represented by a lawyer. It is like a tantrum. I am done with it. It is extremely hard to let go someone when you still love him.

I need an answer about this as well.... My STBX asked for the divorce out of the blue bc he wanted to be happy and leave to find himself ( whatever that means). However he refuses to leave the house. He hates when I leave to be with friends. None of us are seeing anyone. I begged him to go to counseling, temporary separation, etc. He refused and presented me with papers. He refuses to talk to me. And he is just angry about everything. I keep telling him leave. Honestly you can see the kids whene…

This is exactly what happened to my STBX he is going through a midlife crisis and started blaming me for his unhappiness. He got super angry that I told him. I am not responsible for your happiness. No one is you are responsible for your own happiness. You have no friends. Whenever I try to schedule dates, you cancel bc there is a game on. You don't want to do activities with me and the kids. If you are already divorced, I am so sorry. If you are in the process. Of finalizing the divorce. I am sorry for your kid. Because he deserves better but you can use it to your advantage. My STBX is fighting me for 50/50 custody for the kids. However, I told him about our son's Xmas concert and Xmas party and put it in his calendar. He didn't go to either of them. He chose not to. He also almost didn't go to our daughters bday party. I made him go. My lawyer told me not to fight it. Journal it. …

No idea I wish I could give you some names. But I am not nowhere near your state. Or know anybody there. After the holidays, I would go to several lawyers' offices and do not move until you get representation. If you don't have a lawyer and she does, it will absolutely not help your case.
/r/Divorce_Men22/12/24 01:37 AM

That sucks because everyone is entitled to legal representation. What state are you if you don't mind me asking.

I am truly sorry that is not fair for you or the kids. Do you have a good lawyer? I do recommend Divorce care. It help me more than therapy.

You need to work on yourself so the court sees you are trying even if you didn't do anything. I found a pastor who is great for counseling, and I am not even religious. Go to Divorce care.com support groups they are like 20 bucks for 13 weeks, go to therapy, and go to the gym. Or even just for walks. When your STBX is a bit more calm. Talk to her about seeing your kids. Your kids need you despite your differences. They need both mom and dad. Also, trust me with this she is going to need help wit…

My STBX said the same to me word by word. I don't love u anymore. I need a year to go find myself. Un1til now, I still do not know what that means. Sorry you are going thru with this. I am almost positive for cheating, but I haven't found any evidence. I put a PI, search all his social media, accts, and gps, nothing. It must also be a midlife crisis. But trust me, at some point through all this long, draining, expensive, and exhausting process that is divorce, you are going to say good riddance …

I understand I tried to get into an arrangement with my STBX because I do not want to make it to trial. But he is completely unreasonable, and he was the one that cheated and asked for the divorce bc a midlife crisis. Try to sit with her and get into an agreement. The lawyers job is to make this as long and as litigious as possible just bc of the billable hours.

I feel this in my soul. My STBX did the same. Zero accountability is the worst. I am sorry you are going through this. What has helped me a bit is getting new friends that I don't talk about issues with my STBX .this helps a lot keeps my mind away from him, at least for a moment.

Have you guys tried to go to counseling. Not to fix things. But to have someone else outside of the relationship explain to her your truth. And also to have you explain her fears. She might be saying that just because she has another fear like financial or both of your kids' mental health. It is not fair that she was with you for 20+ years, took care of your kids, and now that you are tired of her, just get rid of her without taking care of her financially. Maybe she only needs to know that she …

U don't even know me dude. U are angry with all women. I am only angry with my STBX. Lol. And no. He cheated with prostitutes and left his kids and me because he is a looser and a coward. Obviously the hooker dumped him and I took him to the cleaners. So now he is alone, no money, no friends, nothing. That was my Xmas present.

Same, but I got my answer in a book. It said that their believe they are the victims they have rationalized this in the most stupid way possible, but it makes sense to them. They want to get out of this situation and make us aside with the least amount of damage to their wallet and reputation. And to do that. They have to believe that what they are doing is right. I am having my STBX pay for all my legal fees. Don't try to understand her bc you will have to be like her to do that. A pastor told …

Same thing with my husband. We've been together for 19 years 17 married. And He just blurred out that he wanted a divorce in the middle of our annual trip in Jamaica just the two of us. He said he hasn't been happy for 2 years. But his mistake was never telling me how he felt and now he just wanted a divorce he didn't wanted to go to therapy, couples counseling or anything he just wanted out and he didn't even thought about the kids. I am in Dallas tx. I am the mom in this case and I wanted to move to McAllen Tx with my 3 kids where I have family, is cheaper than Dallas specially bc one of my babies is disabled. And will never be independent. I can't work full time due to my kid's therapies. Which are all day. But my husband makes over 500K a year and I make roughly 40K with gigs. So I desperately need help. He told me in Texas judges do not allow that to happen for the following reasons. 1. They really do prefer for the kid…

I thought so as a matter of fact I was certain of it but why did he send flowers to another woman then. Because the other girl contacted me. Why not send them to his girlfriend. Also why doesn't he go and lives with her. I have begged him to leave the house and just go live with whomever makes him happy and leave alone and he refuses to go. He always knew since day 1 that I would never beg for love. The moment I was betrayed I was done. But he refuses to go.

Same actually I was so anxious and miserable until I got the papers for the divorce it all came in to focus and a calmness came to me. Like I gave it all of me all I can give. I can't keep someone with me that doesn't want to.

Yes I suppose you are right. Although that was never our issue our sex life was pretty healthy. It is hard to let my best friend go. But I think is necessary.
/r/Divorce_Men21/09/24 06:55 PM

Yes you are right that is what I am gonna do. I need a break too. I think is healthy for both of us to put distance and appreciate ourselves again and divorce. The only thing though is that he doesn't want to leave.
/r/Divorce_Men21/09/24 06:53 PM

But why should I apologize. It all is his doing and he refuses to communicate. I offer therapy, couples counseling, separation for a couple of months, he did not want any of it. He brought up divorce to the table, he retained the first lawyer, he filed first. Why should I apology I even told him last week that I still loved him and wanted to talk if he was willing he said no. And thanks for still loving me. Like why should I apologize. I am only reacting to his temper tantrum.
/r/Divorce_Men21/09/24 05:15 PM

That was my plan but he presented me with divorce papers bc I kicked him out. So the divorce is imminent and I will not remarried him. Many ppl do and to ea it's own but I don't understand it.
/r/Divorce_Men21/09/24 04:36 PM

He told me he is going to therapy but who knows what he is telling the therapist. I am a firmly believer that in order to change or fix a problem you need to take accountability of your own choices and actions and he is in complete denial.
/r/Divorce_Men21/09/24 03:54 PM

Thanks. I am. I am most worry about our kids particularly the little one. Since his therapies are super expensive. I have good lawyers. Expensive AF but as long as his expenses are covered and he pays his insurance I can figure out the rest but the sense of betrayal is huge. I am not sure I can even trust anyone again.
/r/Divorce_Men21/09/24 03:17 PM

Yes. We need a support group for ppl like our spouses. It's ridiculous.
/r/Divorce_Men21/09/24 02:58 PM

Ok. That was hard to hear but I appreciate the honesty. However when we newly got married. I was hesitant on having children and he said If you don't want to have children I will divorce you. I want kids so bad. That is why I am the most angry. I have done everything on my power to give him the life HE wanted for him to throw it in my face. I don't think is fair.
/r/Divorce_Men21/09/24 02:57 PM

Thank you. It sounds like your ex and my soon to be ex should get together. I am sorry that you are going through this situation is horrible and frustrating. For me this midlife crisis is a toddler's tantrum done in my case by a 44 year old extremely selfish and frustrating.
/r/Divorce_Men21/09/24 01:31 PM

I get this and I told him. Your happiness is your responsibility. Don't put your unhappiness on me or this marriage. If you don't want to be part of this family leave. But DO NOT make everyone miserable because you can not communicate effectively what is that you want.

I tried that many times and he completely shots me down even some of his friends from back home had tried to approach him to talk. Someone different than me and he doesn't want to talk finally he is going to therapy. Hopefully that helps.
