It’s strange. White Women’s Feminism is actually observed as an oppressive movement by intersectionality. Feminism glorifies women, but demotes people of color. Anti-Racist movements glorify people of color but demote women. This leaves black women kind of in the dust on this issue. If only white feminists knew that it’s more than us MRA’s who think there’s a problem with their methods and madness. They need to check their privilege.

You’ve hit the nail of the head! I have used my brain make a social comparison, and put it to public opinion. I don’t doubt the TwoX message, Margaret Atwood makes an apt commentary, but yes, this is just another innocuous case of men being oppressed that just goes overlooked, because male conscription is the status quo.

I just turn it on its head usually. Most leaders are men, sure, but most men aren’t leaders. Most billionaires are men, sure, but most men aren’t billionaires. Men aren’t in control at all, those in control just tend to be men, simple as.

No, I did, and despite not calling for exclusiveness, by actively trying to “disprove” transgenders, you could make a lot of members feel very unwelcome. I do agree with you on the “anti-maleness” of wokeists, although I never see this in practice. Ads just have a lot of different people in them these day.
/r/MensRights31/07/22 01:42 PM

Nobody asked for your transphobia lad, we welcome everyone in this space, in this movement. It’s what sets us aside from our counterparts. Inclusivity has always been a part of being an MRA, and ignoring that would make us no better than the movements we pit ourselves against.
/r/MensRights31/07/22 01:38 PM

C’mon man, we’re already known as the “anti-women” people. We have to hold ourselves to a higher moral standard than some of these extreme feminists. We can’t become TERFS, or not walk on eggshells, we have to be better.
/r/MensRights31/07/22 01:27 PM

Yeah, licensing and regulation is the way to go. If you truly need a weapon for self defence, you won’t mind waiting through an entire vetting process to ensure safety.

I agree the States has a mental health problem, especially for young men, but just as important as getting these services, is removing the immediate access to such lethal tools of destruction. By immediate, I mean the ability to purchase firearms as easily as one can in the States.
/r/MensRights29/05/22 06:33 AM

Crab mentality. It’s the logic of children. “If I can’t have it, they can’t!”. Instead of fighting for more, you fight so others have less. It’d be laughable if it was so damaging. Abortion is not a feminist issue, it’s a human rights issue.

Jesus Christ, Semantics, that’s not a fact, that’s an interpretation. You have no right to enforce that interpretation on people.
/r/MensRights04/05/22 05:00 PM

Semantics. “Killing it” is specific language, the conversation is about choice, not the specifics. Do you truly believe less rights for women will lead to more rights for men? If so, you are highly misguided.
/r/MensRights04/05/22 03:54 PM

It’s irrelevant. Everyone deserves a choice to do whatever they want to their body. Leave the minutiae up to whoever’s having the procedure done, simple as.
/r/MensRights04/05/22 01:51 PM

Yes but if you eat a lot and get fat, you can always put in the work, make the hard decision, and start working out to deal with the problem. That choice may occur in the bedroom, but many are not so lucky. Many are sexually assaulted, many use faulty equipment, are intoxicated, miss taking pills, many realize after the fact that they’re not ready to bring a child into the world, etc etc, the fact remains there should be always be a choice.
/r/AntiFeminists04/05/22 01:58 AM

This is the philosophy portion of the argument, the irrelevant portion. What we need is the choice for both women and men as to whether or not they want to participate in a pregnancy, full stop.

I don’t think any restrictions on reproductive rights can benefit everyone. Regardless of your personal ethics or philosophy concerning abortion, you must agree that people deserve a choice

Dude, there’s every kind of porn for every kind of person, regardless of gender or whatever characteristic. There are always sickos, but these feminists seem to think that these sickos represent all men, a mistake they make frighteningly often.

I agree. Comprehensive sex education and easier access to contraceptives is a prime way to prevent the necessity of a decision involving an abortion. The Abstinence only model is a proven failure.
/r/MensRights07/04/22 11:19 PM

I’m of the same opinion. Laws on abortion infringe upon basic bodily autonomy and freedom. Regardless of your philosophical view on how ethical it is, the fact remains that this is a decision people should make for themselves.
/r/MensRights07/04/22 01:29 PM

Me too. At the end of the day, Men’s Rights is just a more egalitarian take on gender politics, choosing to view all issues and consider all avenues, instead of narrowing ourselves to a simple point of view, inconsiderate of others affected.

Yeah, and it’s infuriating to see some random woman with two kids, or three pets leaving the country labelled as a “Hero”. Or when the whole world rejoices and laments when news comes out about a female Ukrainian soldier. Even in times of war, when we should be frank, they cannot let go of their narrative, it makes me sick.

Yeah, I just did a small Wikipedia binge to see just how bad it was, and holy shit is this some of the most vile bias I've ever seen. Just look at the stock definition for Misandry. "Misandry is the hatred of, contempt for, or prejudice against men. It is the asymmetrical counterpart of misogyny." Apparently, the word that's literally the definition of sexism against men, is somehow not equal to the literal word for sexism against women. Yeah I saw this insta post about all the "Trans people suffering in Kyiv" and all I could think was like, what of the men forced to fight? This is a time to focus on the invasion, not the nitpicky specifics.

Amen. We shit on men who treat others, regardless of gender, like shit. But feminists see it as a right of passage to hurt a man, as if he’s responsible for something that hasn’t happened yet, and has a very low chance of ever happening.

I’d agree with you on all fronts, if you didn’t compare brigading people looking for a fight, to MRA’s. MRA’s are perfectly moderate, and while we do ramp up the controversy at times, we don’t brigade or devolve to the point of laughing at tik toks.

Because all too often they infantilize themselves, in an act that frankly goes against the roots of feminism. Feminism was supposed to break women free of society’s expectation of them, and give them the same power to be independent like men. But now, they cling on desperately to that victorian idea that women are helpless and need saving, and they can’t be responsible for their actions. Boil it down? Feminists treat their fellow women, like abusive partners control women, keep them marginalized…
/r/MensRights26/01/22 07:14 PM

If femininity is powerful, why don’t they also accept masculinity? Feminists have two avenues for self identification, and both disqualify any and all criticisms of masculinity. They either intensify their femininity, and play hard to its strengths, or they abandon it all together, choosing instead to try and make themselves macho. Both instances involve the intensification of gender based identity, and therefore make any negative comment about masculinity, moot.

Honestly, reversing roles is the easiest thing in the world, and funnily enough, it makes every single point made by misandrists completely non-sensical. Every time I see a post with feminist vibes, I reverse genders and think critically about if feminists would support the reversed version. You end up weeding out a lot of bullshit that way.

It's weird, I can't label it, but men have a very specific way we bond. We don't go out for margaritas and say "You're my best friend!" We wake in the dead of morning with sleep in our eyes and we forge fellowship and understanding through what's most often hardship. Yet the inexplicable part is, some experience feature no challenge, and yet they bond us just as tight, going to the beach with your father for example. We men just do it differently I suppose, and the fact that feminists seem to th…

Who woulda guessed? One of the most sexist countries in the world enacts a policy that deliberately excludes one gender! Wow! God this irks me to no end. It’s a long story of institutionalized neglect, societal standards, and vast sweeping ignorance. Men aren’t encouraged in school, they’re taught that they are the root of all problems, and they watch as the women around them receive more praise then them, but they’re banned from speaking or acting out in justified anger. As they age, this anger becomes internalized, and they’re taught that men are meant to be this way, angry, abusive, worthless, a drain on the purity of a woman’s world. Help is …

I’m not saying she was justified, I’m saying you’re unjustified in making such sweeping assumptions and accusations about a group of people you obviously you know nothing about. Also, making sweeping accusations of certain genders or ethnicities is the reason we’re here in the first place, where all women are expected to get away with things, and all men are supposed to sit back and take it. This subreddit helps break that assumption, and by continuing to say all men, all women, and all natives,…

It’s saddening, but the best thing you can do to combat it, is to force yourself into whatever field you want, regardless of what people say. /r/MensRights23/11/21 03:15 AM

That much is true, but they break the mold with their portrayal of women in this realistically negative light, and the fact that you can easily derive a message of “women aren’t infallible” or “no one cares for men’s mental health” certainly says something.

Also, that article you sent is kinda funny. Roger Waters uses his lyrics to describe a sad tale of a man hurt by women and the world around him, and describes these hurtful women using amazingly colourful and poetic language. I live in Canada, and I’ll do my best to remember this, thank you. It’s a real shame, we’re told men are meant to be stoic, and unemotional, but then also ridiculed for not showing any emotion. When we do reach out for help, the help hates us, and we’re equally ridiculed for not being “Masculine” enough.

It disgusted me aswell. I agree with some facets, like maybe the man shouldn’t have final say in what happens, but by god he deserves to know! Procreation is a 50/50 responsibility, why does no one get that? No matter what your stance is on abortion, the idea that men don’t even deserve to know when they get someone pregnant, is just horrid.

Absolutely, it is a basic health product. Just as you’d expect to see soap, you should see tampons/pads. There’s also something to be said about why they’re expensive anyway, and something to be said about the pink tax, but that’s not why we’re here.

That’s my stance aswell, I care deeply about women’s issues, and I believe there are issues to be talked about and resolved, but we cannot discount men by any measure, equality was always the goal.

I agree that it should be a decision reached by both parties, but I believe the final decision should be the mothers. The physical trauma of child birth is life altering, and if someone had to go through that despite not wanting to, simply because their partner wants a child? I’d say that’s immoral. And when it comes to reasons, I’d say the decision to get an abortion is so heavy, that any reason is a good reason, simply due to the fact that it’s an extremely hard choice to make.
/r/MensRights19/08/21 04:28 PM

There you go twisting language again. “Kill” “Murder”, when so many developed countries have it legalized, why must you stand firm in this fantastical belief that what you think matters as a whole? In Canada, it is legal to get an abortion. This means the majority of people voted in officials who decided it was not a crime to terminate a pregnancy. Wait for her to accept, if she does, act friendly. If you two knew eachother then simply catch up on old times, this way you can learn the important stuff like kids, partners, location, etc. If it all checks out, shoot your shot however you want, just don’t be too creepy or innuendous. It all boils down to confidence, you just need the gaul to do it, everything after that is simple fate.
