Sure, I was raised in a Midwestern household. Dad was quiet and traveled often, mom was a stay at home mom, and i left home at 18. Parents are still together. Father was quiet but masculine, mother was cold but still there / well intentioned. Basically everyone here says to go to therapy, so, I will save up and do that. I am just having a hard time identifying a point to doing all of this digging, and at the risk of riling people up: I just don't think that life is for me. I'm not courageous eno…

Thanks for this advice, I've been to a subsidized therapist that was an option in the town where I live. I don't want to write off your recommendation, but my first experience with therapy was very underwhelming. The therapist sort of sits there and watches, and seemed like she wanted to watch me fix myself without offering any real input. Therapy has come up many times on this thread, and I'm surprised because the forum is generally quite anti-therapy. It certainly warrants another look.

I didn't use those words... but that was the underlying tone. She deserved better. She was devastated by the divorce, I gave her all of the money. Now is actively interested in trying to get back together. I don't want to entertain this until I've changed myself. Yes, I'm very well read in cognitive behavioral therapy. I, unfortunately cannot afford any sort of treatment. I do, so appreciate your recommendations.

Thank you, I will investigate these. I hope that if I keep encountering information, that I can "get it." It definitely feels like many have discovered something that allows them to operate in the world without fear and questioning everything.

I have enjoyed marijuana, and later viewed it as a potential threat to my well being. I have been abstaining for several months.

Honesty is important, I think that perception gets very mixed up in "truth." I had not considered that I was lying to myself about my worth... it's hard to feel that it's a lie, when I identify it as the truth, and if these things are so malleable... does the truth even exist?

This has raised a good point... I don't consciously "want" anything. I want to not feel like THIS, but alas that is not wanting something.... this seems like a good place to start.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
