1	How do I work on these social skills Make a point of trying to make small talk when you’re in public, for example at a store checkout, on public transportation, etc. You could comment on the weather or things like that. Will you make lots of friends that way? Probably not. But will you be less awkward in social settings? Yes. Will you see improvement in the social skills you want to improve?
