The second I saw it I went mental, I was incensed. Never had quite such a reaction to anything on the internet before. Backstory: Both my fathers (step-dad & dad not bromarriage situation) have always been crazy supportive of me and taught me umpteen-million things about how to be a confident man and a respectful honourable person. Mother is a crazy attention-manipulator who drove both of them insane. Within five minutes of coming across the trend I'd ranted and posted ten angry tweets and retwe…

At least in my local area it's already trending. I've also seen #EndValentinesDay as well so the twitter-rage is spreading!

I don't see video gaming or reading (particularly the latter) as escapism for the reasons I stated above. That said I'm a game/app developer (and aspiring novelist in my spare time) so perhaps I put a lot more weight into those hobbies because studying either is beneficial to my career.

Rest of the post was great but why are you implying fiction is a waste of time? You might as well throw in all forms of art with that statement because fiction is typically an exploration of culture presented in a different fashion. Fiction is worthwhile for what it can tell us about the real world. Any kind of reading (and consequently learning) is worthwhile.

[Male] Yeah I can vouch for that. I can be the jealous or possessive type but when another man admires the woman I'm with it inflates my ego/self-worth. I guess it comes down to the whole 'something wanted is more valuable' aspect of it.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if someone told me it was the same personality type Hitler had.

Good post - I only experienced entitlement as a young teenager (once it occured to me I was fucking up I took steps to change my behaviour) and therefore struggle to understand those who live with it. This post illuminates a host of the problems with feminism and the feminist media that really get at me. You explained it a lot better than I tried to explain it to people I know.

Of course since the upvote/downvote system in this sub is based on whether you adhere to the TRP ideology or not, rather than the traditional reddit 'did this contribute to the discussion or not', we're all being downvoted to oblivion. I even attempted to be diplomatic with my clarification. There are a lot of things about the TRP I respect and agree with, else I wouldn't be here, yet for daring to express a contrary opinion I'm shot down. It is my opinion that a true alpha gives no shit, care o…

You've said a lot of things that I've thought over recent weeks reading this sub without being able to put in to words. I'm all for positive male culture and I support TRP for it's part in that, but just as with feminism (and as you said) the second it starts tearing down people or groups of people to make it's point I feel that it is doing more harm to it's own cause than good. To clarify, I understand that identifying traps of female culture and negative aspects of feminism is important, but t…

RPW Male here "How many boys will say 'when I grow up I want to be a dad'" Uhh me. Right here. Exactly what OP is espousing, my dad is an awesome man and when I was a kid I wanted to grow up and be a dad just like him. It was literally my only life goal until my early teens. I'm 24 now and I still count eventually being a dad as one of my most important life goals. I grew up around/have met a lot of guys who felt/feel the same. The whole human race is wired to want to pass on some form of legacy…

Male here I can't tell you how will suit you both - since that likely comes down to your personal preferences and dynamic more than anything - but I found with myself and my SO it helped to approach it piece by piece. Start by each making a list of the items and styles you'd like to focus on within your home, then use the internet to find a nice middle ground between the two. Making lists can help with both the style and the cost, especially if you then want to develop from there.

Well as far as prefixing every post with a signature goes it isn't too taxing so I am definitely willing to get involved given that condition.

I feel like this would unnecessarily punish the students who tried hard but failed (as you mentioned) yet I'dve loved a system like this during school. I barely paid attention yet passed everything. I'm going to finish this comment by noting that isn't necessary a good thing. The education system is for everyone, not the minority.

11am on a Saturday is fine assuming you work a Mon-Fri 9-5 schedule (and if you don't I'd suggest in investing in ear plugs anyway). 11am on a Sunday I could see complaining about, but it's nearly lunchtime and Saturday is a lie-in day sure but it isn't really a day of nothing/relaxation like Sunday traditionally is.

I had the opposite experience. I shifted from a very RP personality to a BP during a long period of depression. Since I have recovered I've been returning to my old personality/behaviour and it seems my SO doesn't like it as much. Arguments have increased ten fold and I've been fighting an uphill battle to get the relationship back to a happy and content place.

I was just lurking here (almost poetic) but I wanted to come say that yeah, I totally agree with you on that. Part of the reason I started posting lengthier replies anytime I had something to say was that it forced me to reread and evaluate what I was posting as I wrote. By spending more time writing I end up tricking myself into spending more time thinking about what it is I exactly want to say, and by the end of my post I've usually revised it to make sure it's actually somewhat thought out. W…
