It has been acknowledged already and unlike you we are also aware of some of the factors causing this. It is a societal problem. Men are more likely to be victims of violence by an overwhelmingly large statistical margin but the empathy gap is so real that we only talk about and pass laws based on the minority cases where women are victims. If we actually start treating the issue fairly, we could reduce violent crimes overall which would be beneficial to women too.
