How do I get over the thought of another man with my kids? The feelings are normal. What I do is 1) try not to waste energy having anxiety or anger about things that haven’t happened yet; 2) think about how I would want things to play out when I find a new partner and 3) be proactive about discussing potential boundaries with my coparent so we have a framework when the situation does arise. | /r/Divorce_Men | 30/06/26 09:56 PM
Can't do this anymoreThe casual racism is lame, and you’re a teacher? Therapy is a good start. | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/06/26 03:47 AM
Lawyered up, little less than 3 year marriage California did I screw up?Why are you assuming you’d pay alimony? This is a short marriage but you should file asap. You likely won’t owe alimony and it would just be an asset split. Talk to a lawyer. | /r/Divorce_Men | 31/03/26 12:23 PM
Need some adviceThese posts show up for me on occasion, please disregard if I’m not allowed to comment. But my ex husband gave me the silent treatment for over a year before I filed after some awful things happened. But I wish I had filed sooner because the silent treatment was enough. Look into the research about cortisol and stress, living in a toxic environment is taking years off of your life. Just because you are “functioning” and able to make it to work doesn’t mean the damage isn’t being done physically … | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/03/26 05:29 PM
| – | Be careful on the dating over 40 pageI actually agree with this. The accusations of narcissism and the actual narcissism are well represented by both sexes because it’s cultural at this point. | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/01/26 02:04 AM |
Ex-wife didn’t even have the kids call me on my bdayYou can include your birthday as a holiday where you always have the kids in your parenting plan. Then you can create the day you want with them without having to depend on her support or participation. | /r/Divorce_Men | 10/10/25 10:26 PM
STBX is suspiciously not worried or hurt at all about being served. 3 year old son involved. This seems like a good outcome, do you agree? If I was starting my divorce all over again I’d make a greater effort to take things as they come and worry less to conserve energy for the negotiating and decision making. I spent a lot of the moments of calm worried about the next disagreement but there just isn’t a lot of value in spending time being suspicious about the fact that she isn’t being dramatic. I think there may be a human desire to have an ex behave badly so you’re continually reassur… | /r/Divorce_Men | 08/10/25 05:20 PM
New studies indicate why women hate men and it is very telling. The attributes listed here are ideals that I was taught that I should personally aspire to and that I should also look for in a partner. Are you saying that young men aren’t taught the same? Growing up in a Christian household, being trustworthy, kind, and monogamous were common expectations. Being ambitious, hardworking and financially stable is capitalism 101. Mental and physical health seems pretty basic, as does trying to find someone with similar values. I guess I’m trying to understand why… | /r/Divorce_Men | 27/09/25 09:45 PM
What do you consider worse: losing the perfect wife in a car crash, or divorce?I was also surprised to see the question. I guess some people would prefer their ex die because it’s easier for them, but that’s a whole human with value outside of their marriage and other humans that love them. | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/09/25 04:23 PM
Rotating schedule every weekThe court will expect you to agree a schedule that is consistent, so that each parent can plan their own lives, including work around it. A schedule that changes every week isn’t going to fly unless your ex agrees to it. I’d suggest you ask for what you want, but have an alternative in your back pocket that allows for consistency on a weekly or monthly basis. For example, do your hours allow you to pick up from school and keep overnight a few days a week? Does the rotation allow you have Wednesd… | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/06/25 03:01 AM
Wife said something that I can’t comprehendYou may not want my opinion, but the last thing you want is to be paying alimony and struggling to keep two households afloat if things go left. You don’t mention the context this was said in so I’m not sure if she was trying to spark some insecurity about divorce, but the fact that she wants to be able to cover her own expenses in any eventuality is generally a good thing. | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/06/25 09:47 PM
Moving to California for better salary but...alimony?You are not being paranoid, as the higher earner in a long marriage you will be paying alimony unless you get a postnuptial agreement or she gets a similar paying job. I think the fact that she would be immigrating to another country at your behest, and leaving her own career means that you would no longer have a legal obligation to support her after divorce (which I don’t agree with in most circumstances) but a moral one. I think your best options are to get a divorce now in your home country s… | /r/Divorce_Men | 29/03/24 11:06 PM

Why so fast?Just to clarify, you’re saying that people are personally liable for their soon-to-be ex spouse’s business debt? Or only if you take half the business (and therefore have both the value and debt) in the divorce? | /r/Divorce_Men | 08/02/24 03:47 PM
Advice: co-parenting when one parent doesn't want to coparentI feel you. And thank you for the friendly response, this popped up in my feed and I thought it was the regular divorce sub. It wasn’t my intention to disrupt the safe space this sub provides. | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/02/24 06:02 PM
Advice: co-parenting when one parent doesn't want to coparentHow do you help your child reach milestones while parallel parenting? I was my potty training my toddler when my STBXH starting keeping him 50/50, and he put kiddo back in diapers. Some things seem to require some semblance of coordination. | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/02/24 04:25 PM
