I've been working in IT 25 years and during our last round of recruitment we (the techs doing the interviews) were strongly "encouraged" to hire female. I'd never experienced this before as we have pretty strong discrimination laws (as far as I can tell none were broken). We did hire a female out of that round, but not because we had to, because she was the best and has since proved an absolute asset to the team. These sort of gender quotas help nobody worth helping. Men with applicable skills a…

It absolutely is. If there was an issue with the conduct of the officers, make that the focus of the article. This is a witch hunt. Previous AVOs (which are easily obtained and unfortunately at times used as weapons) are absolutely being used to "signal" proof of guilt with the male as well as the use of 3rd party experts who weren't on the scene (one of who is a CEO of a business whose model is based on female domestic violence victims) is a deliberate attempt to undermine faith in the police f…

Great idea. I do wonder how many women at least view themselves as egalitarian, however are so dosed up on the feminist Kool-aid they just can't see that the system and western cultural norms discriminate against all genders. My view, you are either egalitarian, or your are sexist and/or racist. Egalitarian implies you are willing to listen to the views/concerns of those with a different life story to your own, and if necessary be prepared to alter your own views to fit the egalitarian narrative…

Hey, yeah I did. At least my families interpretation of what happened. It is an interesting spectrum. Vice principal made the suggestion of doing this which the principal then agreed on. They have since issued an apology, though not clear how this was done or to what audience. My niece said it was super uncomfortable, my mum (retired teacher) was livid while my sister not agreeing with what happened, doesn't see what the fuss is about. Seems that spectrum is largely reflected through the communi…

Great vid. So important that women speak to this more openly, men doing it is seen as confirmation by so many.

Oh heck, I have family that go to this school. Going to have to make some calls tomorrow and get the goss. Some people really don't stop and think do they, principal should 100% lose their job on this one. She has enabled some real damage to those boys on this one.

This is outright terrifying. The bias is just astounding. I hope above all else that you get meaningful time with your kids as young adults and they are aware of just how hard you tried to be a part their lives.

Lol, I'm not the one claiming Bigfoot does or doesn't exist. Nor did I claim the UN removed the IMD from their calendar out of malice, I'm simply saying it ain't there. Look, it would seem you are of the opinion that it is just a glitch that IMD has been removed. Perfectly valid opinion, however so is the opinion of others in this thread that the UN intentionally dropped this event from their calendar. Without proof either way, opinions is all they are. My thought would be if you are going to co…

Again, nothing other than opinion here. Without proof, that is all it is or ever will be.

Yeah, but again where do you get the idea that they'd actually make an announcement or any sort of communication about this? You are the one trying to push the glitch theory, the onus is on you to prove this. You've presented nothing other than a possibility at this stage. At no point have I ruled it out as a glitch, just pointed out the fact it has been removed from their calendar. Nor have I tried to make a mountain out of it. Again trying to pin labels that just aren't there.

It's being toilet day for a long while AFAIK. Another great invention by a man contributing to society.

Absolutely nobody, apart from yourself, if referring to this as any sort of BS, fear mongering or apocalyptic rhetoric. Disappointed, sure, but not any of these labels you're trying to pin. Nobody is saying the UN has cancelled IMD outright, just that they have removed it from their calendar. There is no evidence you or anyone has provided to lend weight to this removal being any sort of glitch. Perhaps it's a language barrier, I do not believe you to have the same interpretation of what this th…

If you are taking the time to comment here, also consider taking the time to fill out the contact form on the UN site asking why IMD is absent from their calendar.

IMD has been removed from the UN calendar. Not sure why you equate pointing this fact out as BS or fear mongering. Less concerned as to the other sites as they don't put themselves out to the world as being humanitarian. There might be a genuine reason for it not appearing, there also might not be. Saying there has been no announcement about removing it implies that is an established process for ceasing recognition of an event on a given date. Genuine question, can you point to any examples of t…

Agree. Putting forward the case for more visibility of IMD on IWD was a poor choice. Women need and deserve their day, just as we do.

I don't so much hold MRA views, rather view myself as being egalitarian. Fairness, personal responsibility and equality of opportunity I view as being essential for civil society. My support for MRA only goes so far as there are negative aspects of Western culture that exclusively or disproportionately impact men. These need to be addressed if we are to strive for an egalitarian society. I am increasingly viewing myself, however, as being anti feminist. Like many, I grew up of the understanding …

Great data, albeit depressing stats. The one that really hit me was the rate of suicide among those aged between 15-19. We are losing the battle early. Where are the resources to help teenage boys process the emotional stress of being valued as a child to be dispensable as man?

It depends if you see the moral plight and deep societal issues of domestic violence causing enormous damage to relationships for ALL victims as a money making opportunity or a problem that needs to be solved. To my mind, only true pieces of shit knowingly seek to profit from the misery of others. This is not a once off for Google, they have not once acknowledged IMD with one of their doodles as they have done for IWD since 2005. The promotion of women being oppressed and the victim at the exclu…

Which is why I said each to their own. Friends and siblings are usually extremely important and fruitful relationships, they do not afford the closeness of building a closely bound life together or having and raising your own children. Relationships with friends and family are not lesser because of this, just different. If you don't value that sort of thing, single life is absolutely a good choice. Certainly has some significant advantages if you are one to really value your own space. Just like…

Shared life experience for one. Each to their own, but MGTOW is the eqivilent if putting your head in the sand if your intent is to avoid false incrimination. Case in point, the guy in this article was not in a relationship with the accuser. Simply being known by these manipulate sociopaths is sufficient with today's laws and societal gender bias for men to have their life devestated (and the lives of those that care about them). Having said that, there is nothing wrong with choosing the single …

Google have actually created a doodle for IWD since 2005, as they should. It is important to celebrate the contributions and listen to the array of women's issues from around the globe. It is a complete failing of Google and so many others not to acknowledge the natural counterpart to IWD, that being IMD.

The best way to combat this is to be well educated on the nuances of these stats and we'll read on the studies commonly referenced (especially those used to dismiss/deminish mens issues, such as pay gap). This is not to Lord it over or humiliate people with these sort of views, rather calmly point out examples of their double standards. First important to understand if they even value or desire actual equality. Perhaps discuss their interpretation of their interpretation of equality (equality of…

I have no love for the victim mentality of SJW's, but this sort of false crap is really doing no favours for men's rights. Imagine how many Redditors have seen this and have gone on with their day thinking this is true. Posts like this should require a source in the comments or be deleted.

Man that has to be tough. Like being a parent isn't hard enough already without having to cope with the lose of your partner then to have to deal with that bullshit stigma on topl. I hope there are support groups in your area for you.

To think that this awful person has been invited to sit on ABC's Q&A along with other radical feminists multiple times, yet inviting Jordan Peterson was somehow the controversial choice. Australia's national broadcaster whose charter requires them to be unbiased is anything but.

I don't disagree that this happens, however I think men need to stop seeking approval or permission to speak of such things and support each other. We need to do it for our health. Harder to do in practice for sure, but it has got to be amongst the next steps taken.

I remember being taught a nursery rhyme back in the 80's along the same lines. Didn't sit well with me then as a 5 yr old. Didn't know until just now it was written in the 1800's by a man. Nursery rhymes are weird. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/What_Are_Little_Boys_Made_Of

Not just why do both groups exist, but the membership count is truly the worrying part. Some discussion in here gets a bit regressive, overall though I think discussion here is a pretty healthy platform for social issues unique to men.

Well done Hasbro. My nieces asked for board games for Christmas. When I saw this on the shelf, not only did I not buy it, I didn't buy any other Monopoly or Hasbro product. No way am I going to to be purchasing any product trying to pass on some form of moral guidance to my family that imbeds discrimination to its rules. It is targeted at 8 year olds, the only message it is going to instill is that girls should get more than boys (or boys simply won't play). It is divisive and does not tell the …

Sorry, should've specified I was referring to Australian statistics. From memory our figures are like 1 in 6 women and 1 in 16 men have experienced physical and/or sexual violence since turning 15. Emotional abuse is much closer with 1 in 4 women vs 1 in 6 men, however nowhere do I remember reading if the abusers were of the opposite sex or not. I hate statistics anyway as all to often the data is massaged or viewed through a lens to suite the narrative of the presenter. Bottom line is men have …

Yeah, with Q&A especially there is a distinct feminist bias now. Years ago I used to love the show for its progressive agenda. Can barely stand to watch it most of the time now. Eltahawy should not have been included on the panel, her views are simply too off kilter. When Q&A had their special on domestic violence they had Clementine Ford on. Both her and Eltahawy have called directly for violence, even murder of men. Not the perpetrators of the wrong doings, just men. When pressed on these comm…

Unless something isn't displaying right on my phone, the data in the Man and Woman columns are showing in reverse order to what would make sense in the Scenario and Outcome columns. This reversal is also consistent with the scenario summaries you give. No biggy either way once I realised.

Nice simple summary, however plz fix up the backward scenario numbering if you get a chance OP. I agree that men should be able to forego all rights to a pregnancy they don't want via means of a legal abortion. However this needs to come with some caveats such as payment of abortion costs and associated expenses (pending fetus DNA verification if needed) should the mother decide to terminate the pregnancy as a result. This avenue would also need to impose pretty serve penalties should the father…

Thanks for the acknowledgement, after all being considerate of each other is really what it is all about. Kinda on topic, my wife told me she had gender awareness training today at work. I was waiting for the usual feminist slant on this, however was pleasantly surprised that the covered the topic of primary carers leave. The group (make and female) were asked what they would do if a man asked for a few days off work for primary carers leave, most said they'd ask the male requesting the leave to…

I've been trying to think of the right words to use to reply to this for hours, I don't think they exist. As a father of two young boys myself I find this utterly horrifying. It's as if there were two assaults commited. What the pedophilic woman did to your son, and then what the cops did to your son. I hope you've been able to access quality counceling for him. It is so important he gets assistance with working through the full spectrum of issues falling out of this in these critical formative …

Agree, but this ain't gunna change unless we make it change. Last year one of my male co-workers took 6 months off without pay to care for his first child. Where I live, not an eyebrow would be raised if a female did this, it would be considered par for the course. A lot of people at work trashed talked this guy for doing it. I defended him pretty vigorously as I didn't even know it was an option when we had our kids. I would have loved to have that time with my kids early on.

Shouldn't Misogyny be relabelled as Toxic Femininity? Seriously, if you take the man blaming apects out of it, isn't it a 1:1 correlation?

What? Your son had an video/audio recording of the assault and nothing was done? With your son's consent, I'd be taking that shit to the media...
