I wasn't too far off considering it was from memory But think about that. 4% may not seem like a lot, but consider the population that are over 50. It's a lot of extra people of one gender over the other. Hell, it's still a big difference from a 1:1 ration isn't it?

Surprisingly it isn't. Men have a higher death rate than women, though more men are born than women due to increased female birth mortality. By 45-55 the ratio goes greatly in flavor of women. Probably on the region of 70-80:100. This is probably the actual reason for the difficulty rather than the nonsense in the article.

So, out of interest, who its the father? Its not your or the other guy, then who is it, surely that's the issue here? Have you tried asking the Mom and finding out, if only so the child has some idea of where his genuine biological father is? It would seem to me that if you want to be assured of shifting the payments, then it would be a matter of finding the person that is actually responsible.

Imagine what the comments might have been if the baby was a girl? You'd have hate from other people about that. Just think that the gender of the baby is an issue at all should really be the focus of people's disapproval rather than horrible people saying horrible things about a baby (boy or otherwise).

I think the former has some basis in reality, gender as a social construct has its flaws and it isn't equivalent of gender as a biological construct. Thank you for the information. I shall enjoy going over the additional sources. Though, I've actually read the second sex. I think I'll judge my interpretation of it over that of a feminist author (and I think its important to take it in the context of the time it was written and the person that wrote it). I don't really think that someone with a bias (i.e. Marylin French) will use the source material justly.

Why punish a child for a parents misdeeds if an equitable solution can be found. This is my local gym and I agree completely with him. Its very inconvenient for me because I work long hours as a student (i'm doing a very hard course). I can only usually get to the gym in the evenings (usually after 6pm). I've said it before and I'll say it again. Regardless of whether the guy here is guilty or not. Regardless of whether there is sufficient evidence or not.
