If hiring a man over a woman is mysoginy, then hiring a woman over a man is misandry. Both 'crimes' are equal. Therefore only by hiring the best or most qualified person for the job is the most viable metric. Gender should never be a consideration. I don't care if the firefighter carrying me out of a burning building is more, female, non-binary or whatever. Sex, gender, idiology doesn't mean jack. I care if that person can do the job, and save my life. I thitk if we could all take a breath and s…

It's not that they're being threatened. It's more that in some cases the bias against men is blatant. Typically in family court. It's not just the USA either, Indian men have it extremely rough. British men can't be sexually assaulted by women (no forced to penetrate laws, despite many many appeals). Zero support structure for the many, many male victims of abuse, whenever a men's shelter opens a feminist group shows up and complains so loudly, or outright threatens them and they're forced to sh…

I wouldn't classify it as such, no. It is outdated, for the moment. It's an evolutionary thing. To perpetuate the species, children must be born. Before modern medicine that meant having as many as you typically could because many would die. Men fought, and died to protect their families. After major conflicts, you only need a few surviving men to repopulate. If the women died though, especially childbearing ones, the societal losses were worse. Its not a saying based on hate. It's a saying born…

All the AI's I've used do similar and it's extremely frustrating. You have to be very explicit in your prompts to it, tell it to cite all sources, not hallucinate or make assumptions. If you want to web search with it, you have to tell it to do that. Remember, LLM'S use their training data. Calling out it's biases and BS is good, but honestly... Don't pay for it. Please. And if you engage in these manners, proof, screenshots, peer reviewed studies, etc are your bread and butter.

Have you tried honest communication with her? That's usually a great place to begin. Start it from a place of love and care, but lay it out, man. You want get anywhere by asking Reddit. You'll either get alpha male types or feminist types telling you what to do, all armchair back seat driving. It's your relationship, your life. Communicate and move forward. See a couples therapist. Encourage her to see her own. Or start by getting one for yourself and tell her why and let professionals help, not…

It would impose new requirements on lawyers to screen for signs of family violence during divorce cases, give judges new tools to identify the existence and impact of coercive control on children, and ensure that, in some circumstances, children can express their preferences to a judge in a custody dispute. Coercive control is a pattern of abusive behaviour in which one individual attempts to control another through measures like limiting their interactions with friends and family, spying on the…

Probably. The writing in Letterkenny is great. And this is also a gender difference thing, pap smears are objectively worse than prostate exams. The whole scene is actually about encouraging men to get checked. Sure, they make it funny, but the message is clear too. PSA: get your prostotes checked lads. It's not that bad.

I dated a girl far a little while that didn't enjoy oral. I said that was okay and tried to make things work for a while. I discovered that sex with a starfish is terrible, that a relationship without oral wasn't one I was interested in. Sexual compatibility matters. Now that you know what you want and need, it's okay to have that discussion with your partner early in the relationship. Set boundaries and expectations early and the clarity af it is a breath af fresh air. If she freaks out about t…

You can't please everybody. It's impossible. Write the book you want, tell the story you want to tell. If the reader doesn't like it, that's okay. You can't control what others think.

I'm Canadian, not American. I don't watch CNN. What I see of the guy is how he interacts with my country, and how his actions are screwing with the economies of both countries. Consertaves are blue up here, liberals are red, and we also have green, orange, and more. This is why I dislike colour coding your parties and speaking like it's the same everywhere, because the USA isn't the centre of the universe.

Red vs Blue is 100% an American thing. Also thanks for voting in Trump and allowing him to shit on literally everything, congratulations. Just because the guy talks a good game doesn't mean he deserved your vote, or that he cares at all about you, or men in general. It's a power grab, and he's destroying your country. Quickly. What country is this, and why does it read like a legal statement? Also, lawyer. The answer is always lawyer in this type of situation. Don't ask reddit legal questions, call a lawyer. Hey mods, can we make it mandatory to list the country in question for this type of post? I know the USA is super prevalent, but it's not the only country on here, and legal advice for one country could land you in prison in another.

What are women's hobbies? You present your case with predominantly men in 3 areas, but give no clear examples of what you consider to be a women's hobby. One other poster mentioned nursing, but that's a career path, not a hobby. This isn't bait, I'm actually asking.

Hey, OP... why not start a private club that happens to have gym equipment and only allow men to join for a flat monthly fee. Do not advertise, nor have a store front... Open it in a basement or something. Being a private, members only club should let you skirt a lot of gender rules, even in the UK... But I could be wrong. Food for thought for you or other entrepreneurs that might read this. It's kinda like prohibition, if the government says no, do it anyway, just hide it.

If you're a teenager, what you can do while living at home is vastly different than if you're on your own as an adult. I try not to make assumptions. I didn't say you can't hold them accountable, I said you can't change them. Is it your responsibility to ensure the behavior of your mother and sister? If you were in Canada, my answer is certainly not, if you're in a different country or have a different culture, those values and expectations could be wildly different. Point is I don't know you, o…

How old are you, what's your living situation, and what country are you in? All these are factors in how to handle this. Basics: you can't control other people, only yourself. Don't call out their behaviour, just let them self destruct. If they try to rope you into their shit, politely decline and go about your life. Get male friends.

Ask her straight out if she wants you to make the decisions. If she says yes, make the plans, and do them. If she says no, or if she wants input, involve her in the decision making process. It sounds like you have a naturally submissive wife. That isn't a bad thing, but it means you need to understand what that all entails. It starts with a conversation with her about EXACTLY what decisions she wants you to make, what she wants to have input on, and what she wants to decide for herself. Consent …

Firstly, invest in a therapist to help you process things. You've been through a lot, brother. No shame in therapy. Secondly, you gotta change your definition of success. Don't define your success by the validation of women. Delete the apps, they're worthless. What brings you any sort of happiness or joy? Pretty sure that's just straight up emotional abuse. If you want the marriage and relationship to work out, I'd highly recommend couples therapy, because y'all need to learn how to talk and listen to each other again. If you don't want the marriage/relationship to continue, tread carefully. False accusations have a nasty habit of sticking in the worst way. I find guys are generally a much safer outlet to talk about emotional things. Too many girls engage in weaponizing emotion, where guys tend to keep these things close to the chest. Generalizations both, and there are always exceptions. What do you want to study, if you don't mind my asking?

Have you ever seen any of the videos that ask men 'who would you rather talk to about your feelings, a woman or a dog?' My honest advice is to spell it out for her in a long text/email/written whatever. How the inane argument is stupid, how it's driven a wedge between you two, everything. Then at the end put the ball firmly in her court. Don't engage further until she's ready to come to the proverbial table and actually talk, instead of spouting feminist talking point bs. To be totally fair, I didn't read the 'study'. I got lost in the question asking about marriage and arguing divorce=bad and got a little annoyed that the answer was for something other than the question. Marriage used to mean something. I'm mid 40's,i remember. Had and still have a great example with my parents. I've been there, and divorced, and seen both sides personally. You ask if men benefit from marriage more, then make arguments about divorce... I don't disagree here, but your question is about something other than your statements. So I an, in good faith, do men benefit more from marriage? (excluding the possibility of divorce). I think a good, healthy marriage and relationship benefits both rather equally. That does depend on the good and healthy qualifiers though.

Not sure how saying you need to be accountable and responsible for your own actions is a bad thing. Hormone treatments such as 'the pill' have a very long host of side effects, and cause all manner of problems. Not taking it means you can get pregnant, and avoid the problems. Not wearing a seatbelt is just a plain safety hazard. Wearing a seatbelt doesn't cause issues, nor does it alleviate you of risk nor responsibility. Honestly, I'd rather see chemical solutions like this disappear entirely. For both genders. Everyone needs to face the consequences of their actions, and this basically removes a fairly major consequence that has shaped our societies. Having sex comes with responsibility. It used to mean the willingness to become a parent. That used to mean a family unit. Humans are, and have always been better off with strong family units. Birth control has subverted that and turned sex into a social activity m…

I don't care if the main character is female. I had hopes for Rey. I had hopes for Disney. Where they lost me is in TERRIBLE writing. They had the golden opportunity to pass on the torch to the next generation, but no.... They thought having Luke attempt to murder his nephew and ultimately become a milk guzzling hermit was better. You're right. They're not for everyone. Keep trying to find what DOES work for you, preferably things that aren't self destructive. You're not only overthinking this, you're hyper focused on it and letting that negative to colour everything else. Maybe it'd help to see if there are hsv2 groups to talk with others? You'll have to find a new happiness. If it's a partner you're worried about, consider 26% of women in the US have hsv2 (18% of men). Will it limit your dating pool? Yes. Will it eliminate it? No. (numbers are from Wikipedia and not personally verified https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epidemiology_of_herpes_simplex) The rest sounds like a depression spiral. What a man can do is start by asking for help when he needs it. This is a good first step, but honestly I'd be looking for a professional. There is no stigma against seeing a therapist. The hardest part is finding one that works best with you to help you sort yourself out. You know what you want, where you want to be. Now you just have to figure out how to get there. Quitting bad habits is different for everyone, and it's easy to just say go cold turkey... But your situation has so much going on…

Friends and family aren't therapists. Sounds to me like you really needed somebody to talk to to help you process. That's what therapists do, and are there for. Your co-worker/'friend' was likely interested in you and thought she could 'fix' you and make you happy. It sounds like a brief about of co-dependance that ended on her side when her unspoken needs went unmet. (This is purely my opinion and 100% speculation. I am not a therapist.)

That was my take on it too. The takeaway is something I've been preaching for a long time: people need to learn to communicate better. Why leave things so long they fester into resentment? If you just leave things the way they are, the other person is going to just assume you're cool with things, then get blindsided months later. Note that all of this is gender neutral. Applies to everyone, regardless of what's between your legs.

I'd argue that financial punishments (fines, etc) should be tied to your income, or access to funds. As it stands, most small crime is perfectly fine if you're wealthy enough. Gender should never be a consideration to justice.

It was more than 'tradition'. You're talking about pre-modern medicine times, where making babies was basically essential for the survival of the species. That was the beginning of it, survival. Women didn't fight in wars because they needed to rebuild the population after. You could afford to lose the majority of the males, but the women /had/to be protected. That was also why 'women and children first'. Men were always more expendable. These things were true for the vast majority of human hist…

You only have 100% of effort to give. If 100% goes to one gender, you aren't helping the other. You can't add more, because you only have so much time and effort. Also... Take a look at what people say about the rare few that do advocate for men. It's not pretty.
/r/MensRights23/04/23 01:31 PM

If you only ever help women, and never help men, you aren't harming men, you just aren't helping them. What he's saying is that men need help too, and if you spend 100% of your effort on female victims, the male victims continue to get sidelined.

Lots of new school therapists are pushing feminist ideology, which is part of the problem. Hell, even Jordan Peterson is fighting to keep his lisence. Older women, and male specialized therapists are more likely to help and be sympathetic/empathetic to male issues.

If it sparks discussion, that's a good thing. Show your sources if she asks (plenty around this sub, or a quick google), otherwise just avoid the topic.

Honestly, I don't care if a disproportionate number of one gender has a problem over the other. If it's possible for both (all) genders to perpetrate, or be a victim of a crime, said crime should not be gendered at all. Anyone can experience sexual assault, rape, abuse, etc. I can't think of ANY law that should be gender exclusive. Same with consequences for breaking said laws.

The concern is that they're removing the need for evidence. Girl says yes, you have a great night, next day she regrets it, rescinds her yes and now he's in jail. Literally gives every woman the legal authority to claim rape or attempted rape and all due process is thrown out the window. Rape is serious, and should be treated as such. Rape allegations to destroy people is despicable thing. Where is the balance? What's the better option? Questions nobody's really asking because feminists #believe…

We need more women like you. I'm glad you said birth a child and not raise one, it really does take both sides to do it right and I'm a single father with custody. Feminine energy is as difficult to define as masculine, but you know it when you see it.

Treat your date like you would your best friend. You invite her out, you pay. She invites you out, she pays. If income divide is large split by percentage, or do home cooked stuff... Point in if you can communicate past this 'who pays' hurdle you're doing great. For us guys the most important thing a girl can do is offer or make the effort. The first date is the point at which this girl is going to be the most polite... If she's rude now it's only going to get worse later.

Equal yes, but also different. It's important to embrace our differences instead of pigeonholing everyone into the same mould. It's better to be different.

Thanks for a well reasoned argument. I tried looking up historical reasons but was curious as to why everything was only talking as far back as ww1. This makes sense, thanks.

So, if my observations are all wrong, why were primarily men conscripted, and not women? I'm looking for any legitimate information that shows my observations to be incorrect here. I'm actively asking for better info. Telling me I'm wrong is part of it, but give me something other than just that. Give me historical context, something, anything to work with. I'm trying to learn here.

I'm always happy to be proven wrong so I can learn and adopt a better position. Within a historical context, why was it mostly males sent to fight in most cultures? Let's limit the discussion to pre agriculture civilization. If I'm wrong about preserving the ability to repopulate, then why weren't women sent out more often? Back then they had zero clue about genetics or genetic diversity... That wasn't even a concept until Darwin as I understand it. Or is there some other reason that men are alw…

Edit: So I'm being down voted to hell, and in some ways I get it. If my observations are wrong, if my opinion is wrong... Please tell me what's correct or provide information to go on. Simply downvoning, claiming pseudo science, and the like doesn't help me learn or improve my outlook on this one particular issue. I'd actively love to be taught here. I'm leaving my original comment up in the hopes of meaningful and informative information, but fear it'll just get down voted to oblivion. Such is …

I got mine at 24 after having 1 kid. 1 was enough for me and the wife (divorced 12ish yrs later) didn't want more either. She had medical complications and I didn't mind, and never regretted it. For you though... Don't. If you want a kid or two, do not do it. It might be reversible later, might not. Never allow someone to pressure you into it. If she presses it, press her right back about getting her tubes tied.

Yes it's easy to find, which is why I marvel at the success of OF. Why are so many people paying for something they can see for free? I think it's because OF has a degree of interactivity, and a lot of guys are desperate for human contact and the illusion of a relationship. On the other hand, putting a pay wall online is about the best way to ensure age of consent. Yes, kids can steal payment methods, but determined kids have been subverting age restrictions since forever. I'd rather a kid see p…

I'm at the point where I want the government to strike any and all mention of gender from everything legal. Family court isn't mom vs dad, it's parent a vs b. Homosexual couples can get married, adopt, divorce and have 100% the same issues as hetero, and once you add in language accepting the dender fluid spectrum it just gets rediculous. Strike it all. I don't want to be known as husband, father, man of the house, etc when it comes to legal proceedings, rather the single parent with current cus…

Sad part is that those men that say it's a compliment are just incredibly desperate for human contact. Imagine being denied the touch of another for so long that you rationalize molestation into being a compliment. Take one of those guys, put them in a good relationship and see how their opinion of being groped by a random changes. Sure some would still be ok with it, but then the same is true of the other gender(s) as well. Guess it's a human issue, more than a mens issue.

Well, insane laws require insane responses. Literally no male should choose to live in a place where any female can have him arrested on zero grounds for a sexual assault charge that he must disprove. The law is asinine, so my response, as unrealistic as it is is literally the only way to protect yourself from potential legal repercussions. Did you read what those laws state? Women there can withdraw consent at any point without informing a male partner. It is up to him to determine if she is st…

What. The. Hell. Wow, that's insane. If that ever becomes a law around here every woman is basically forced to chant 'I'm consenting' while engaging in a sexual act with a male. Note the laws don't apply to f/f relations. Guys would basically have to record every sex act for proof of consent being given so that decades later they can't be accused of rape. I hope every guy in those states ropert their girlfriends for rape every time their privates are touched without consent. Every time. Flood th…

That's great! Keep the communication open and honest. I'm rooting for you! And yeah, my case is an outlier in these things but I figure some guys need to hear that things can end in a healthy way and divorce doesn't need to be a bad thing. My ex and I joked about throwing each other divorce parties. We started as friends, and ended friendly 15 years later.

Depends on what country, laws, etc. I had a successful divorce here in Canada that was amicable. I'm in a very distinct small minority though. Have a separation agreement written, signed and notarized. Spell out EXACTLY how you're handling child care splits, financial aid, etc. Be detailed. The court ideally should be looking out for the best interest of the child, and your separation agreement should be reflective of that. This process is a lot harder if lawyers are involved, but this is what m…

Report to the school in writing. Verbal complaints of harassment can be hand-waived away, but written ones need to be addressed. Whe writing the complaint be specific, make it a report of sexual harassment, name the people, times, places, and acts. State at the bottom that you expect action to be taken within 48 hours of the written statement. If zero action is done, feel free to forward this to local police. Keep written records of everything.

So by your own words if I wrap my hand around your throat, tell you that if you make a sound I'll murder you, then proceed to rape you, if you don't say no or struggle you gave me willing consent. Rape victims rarely struggle or say no. There are a bajillion reasons why. Threat of death, threat of harm, threat of social repercussions, abuse of power, etc etc etc. Hell, just go watch Law&Order SVU and maybe you'll learn something.

So my friend wasn't raped as a child because he got hard? Girls aren't raped because they don't say no? Fuck off and go learn what it means to be raped by actual rape victims. Talk to them, learn their circumstances. I don't just mean female rape victims either, male ones too.

Age of consent (AoC) in Canada is technically 12, assuming there's a difference in ago of 2 years. AoC at 14 allows a 5 year age gap. After that legal AoC is 16, the above are allowed ONLY IF: the older person is not in a position of authority or trust and there is no exploitation or dependency. Source: https://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/en/brochure-respect-sexual-consent So no... Adults having sex with children is not ok if the child doesn't say no. Your last paragraph is entirely triggering. Most rape…

Yeah no. I hate it. I'm of the rather novel idea that courts shouldn't be able to see or talk about gender, race or role, especially in family court. Parent A and parent B are sufficient labels to determine legalities.

I had 2 days of bed rest after, then I could walk around slowly for about 20 minutes or so before things got painful. Luckily I had a wheelchair at work I could zoom around in for a few days lol. All I know from research before I went in was to take it easy and excessive movement was a bad idea.

It's breach of consent. Doesn't matter what you consented to, having someone violate that feels really awful, and in many cases it can be illegal. I agree that rape should be the wrong term though. Rape (my opinion) is forcing intercourse on a non-consenting person (note the lack of gender labels!), which isn't a breach of consent, it's a disregard of it. The thing with consent is that it can be removed at any time, which muddies the waters a bit, especially when one person tries to remove conse…

In the end, it's an operation where you walk in, and are able to walk back out an hour or less later (mine was 30 minutes). Couple pieces of advice: shave yourself before going in... Nurse held up a disposable single blade Bic, and the urologist said "the shave is good" to my great relief. Secondly, take 4-5 days after to recover. Yes, you can walk around, no you won't be in much discomfort, but you walk too fast/far/long it starts aching hard, and that's when infections etc can happen. Take it …
