OYS#18 Me: 31yo, 1.90m, 77.5kg, 13% BF navy, married 5 years, 1 baby 6mo • Physical o I went to the gym 2 times this week again. I failed on Saturday because I chose instead to stay with my baby and wife at home. This time, I’m making space for going to the gym both on Saturday and Sunday, for a total of 4 visits to the gym. If I choose something else on Saturday, I’ll make sure not to fail on Sunday. o Lower back started to hurt mildly last time I squatted. I’m not stopping, just keeping an eye…

OYS#17 Me: 31yo, 1.90m, 79.5kg, 12% BF navy, married 5 years, 1 baby 6mo • Physical o Went to the gym 2 times this week. This is the minimum, I want to be at 3 times consistently. I’ve already scheduled Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. Lifts are progressing quickly as I gradually return to my old standard. o I had my followup appointment for the back injury. Everything seems to be fine, and I won’t make another appointment unless something flares up. After talking to the Dr, I’m going to stay at …

I want to give order to my life situation, and find clarity of what I'm aiming at. I've been feeling down and hazy, and I want to know if the feeling is justified.

OYS#16 Me: 31yo, 1.90m, 77kg, 12% BF navy • Physical o I had a long pause from the gym because of a lower back injury, and my baby being born. This week I have a follow up with the Dr. from the back injury. o Just started going to the gym again. Went twice this week. I am starting up at 135 lbs squat, 135 deadlift, 95 bench press and progressively going up, and adding 20 lbs every visit to squat and deadlift, and 10 lbs to bench press. My goal right now is to get to my last standard of 245, 275 …

30 yo, my wife also 30, we have a firstborn daughter of 2 months. I'm currently solving a credit card problem that my wife got herself into and was getting worse and worse. She was hiding this for several months and I found out last week. She was open to showing me all the bank records online and printed and I studied them for a bit. It’s a mess, but one of the problems is that her mother and sister have additional cards on her account. They are effectively using her as a bank, and she does al…

I dont know what it will be like for you. but like any other chap on this planet, i can only tell you what works for me. for it to truly work for you, you gotta go to the water and drink it yourself to see if you like the taste. 100% agree on this. Adhd and other mental diseases do melt away. and you would find a completely unique strength to deal with your problems. best of luck my friend I also believe this is true. Anxiety is fear of the unknown, and it is useful to build a tolerance to this …

I believe it’s the fact that I just despise monogamy and I want variety. Why would anyone torture themselves to be relegated to 1 woman for life. I made the wrong decision and I’m miserable right now. Luckily we have no kids or property together, I want to live alone It seems you already know what to do, but are too scared to do something about it. There is no cure, you'll just have to live the rest of your life like a coward! ;) Lift, sidebar, STFU

I agree with you. I have come to understand alpha and beta better in terms of "who is deciding your actions?". Alpha is an action you decide for yourself, with you being the mental point of origin of your actions. The beautiful thing is that even if you fail, you were already convinced to do what felt right for you, and you gain experience. And beta is letting someone else decide what you do. There is always something to gain behind every little thing we do, and letting others decide for you, pl…

My wife was diagnosed with MS at her mid twenties. She has had Ocrevus infusions for the past 3 years, and it has worked wonderfully, much better than other previous treatments. At first it's not easy, but the infusions being every 6 months, and having no symptoms whatsoever, it's like there is no MS at all. There is sure to be a treatment that will help you live normally, dont despair. Look for a neurologist with MS experience, keep researching, maybe look for a 2nd opinion. It's fundamental to…

I agree that I stopped and listened to her to fix "her" problem. I continued to give it my attention because I'm interested in the viability of the business project. At the very least, I want to explore the personal business territory. So, I'm taking this opportunity to take something she wants and aligning it with something I want. From that position, I can give better direction.

Weed's superpower is it makes you happy to be bored. It saps your ambition and drive. If you can't control it, perhaps this is something that you could do without too? I've had good experiences using weed when I combine it with a task that I have previously prepared for, and just execute high. In this state I usually explore new ways of doing that same task. For example, I would ask myself if this is the fastest way to cut a vegetable, and start figuring out how I could do it faster. I find this…

Saying she caught on seems like you have this mentally framed as trying to trick your woman into sex. You are right, I was trying to covertly provoke her into wanting to have sex with me. That does sound sneaky af and passive. It's usually when I'm more direct that we have a better time. You wanted sex but you told her what you thought she’d want to hear. I wanted to be intimate, but wasn't opposed if it turned into sex

Focusing on building abundance can be helpful to developing the abundance mentality. But ultimately, it still is focusing on something external, and once you have it, it is possible to get stuck trying to find meaning in it. Following your mission can be more meaningful, as it is always within your possibility to exercise and develop, and specific to you.

About 5 years ago I started lifting and I did Starting Strength for about 1.5 years, with some minor breaks in between. From asking people to watch my form, and watching myself in mirrors, I know I'm doing the exercises correctly. I also know about linear progression and I'm currently applying it. This time I'm doing Starting Strength again, at least until I get to 245 Lbs 5x5 in Squat, which is where I got stuck several years ago.
