Marriage is down 65% so mathematically divorce will decline. Many modern couples have opted for cohabitation over marriage because many young people are broke. Today only the rich , the religious and Uber educated are getting married. Many lower class women are just settling for casual relationships, because weddings are pricey, and so are divorces, lawyers to draft prenuptial agreements and family trusts.

I think the point of the book was that many women write down around 100 attributes of what Mr. Right looks like and then instead of Marrying Mr. BIG many women marry a man that doesn't even match many of the attributes they wrote when they were 18. I disagree. Look at Prince Andrew and his trips to Epstein Island. The rich and privileged have a lot more means to access extramarital sex. The Profumo Affair was a great snapshot at how scandal permeates the landed gentry.

Leonardo has openly advertised that no woman shall be allowed to stay past 25 yrs of age. And yet there is a flood of eager applicants. Surely none of them are even thinking they can be the one who gets the marriage proposal. There is just so MUCH VALUE to dating a top 1% male like Leonardo or Elon that super attractive models are lining up for this chance at their peak of beauty. I sort of agree but on a different take. If a pretty girl marries you when you were young and had zero wealth, you are certain she wasn't gold digging. Also when you marry young, you often are marrying your best friend. When you see a 60 year old Leonardo hooking up with an 18 year old, you already know he is just using her til she hits 25, there is no bond there, it's probably transactional. Contrary to his movies, he won't be jumping in front of a bus to save her life.
