I'm not so sure if we can go to the gene-level. As that would fundamentally change who you are. Imagine if dysphoria is in your genes, regardless of the X or Y gene you got given. However, he is in his right to accept or not accept how people want to be seen. Just because you want to be seen as a girl (or boy), doesn't mean that someone else has to accept it.
