The law gives women more allowance to be irresponsible, IMO. I don't see this as a problem, but because the way the laws are structured, a woman could say, sleep with a man whom they would never consider a potential mate (non-commital, doesn't work, abusive), produce offspring, and the government will send other men with guns to this man who never wanted to be a father and force him to provide for this woman and her child.

Went, and everything seems to be deleted, except the warm comments inviting men who identify as men to not bring this stuff up on their subreddit. I actually kind of agree with that. If they are talking about female genital mutilation explicitly, there is no reason to drag in a discussion about male circumcision. I don't mind the message in OP's post... but I do agree with you's that respect SHOULD be something that people 'earn' or 'gain'. The issue might be that (like a lot of modern words, I feel) the word Respect has been watered-down in its meaning, to be more similar to general courtesy or consideration for others, instead of a special reverence for someone.
