Obviously a blatant effort to keep younger men looking like boys to keep the priests happy.

I suggest don't bring that person into your daughter's life for a good long time. No matter her outward composure your daughter is likely still traumatized by the big change in her life. Adding new loves, et al, to her life won't help her and will complicate her life.

Bills, cards, overdraft, pretty much everything which happened to you happened to me about 25 years ago. Very similar outcome. Shared custody which wound up 60+ me /40- her because sometimes she simply didn't care more about her children than herself. She actually owed me money after the divorce which she's only paid 24% of. No maintenance either direction. Once liberated financially I was able to buy a new car one year later, and the rental we were living in. Kids are grown and love and visit b…

Pity is that had I been the cab driver and she been in the US I would have told her after the first slap, "Do that again and the next thing you'll remember is picking yourself up off the pavement." I seriously contend one does not hit someone else unless one wants to open themselves up to a proper whooping. Violence only begets more violence and ones who are on the low end of the violence spectrum shouldn't pick fights.

I have had three women bosses in my life. Aside from wives. One was a stupid, overbearing, idiot boss. The other two dressed appropriately for their positions but as far as I can recall never emphasized nor exposed their cleavage. They were just smart bosses who knew how to motivate, how to correct, and had the backs of everyone they supervised. They also understood, having been there, how to do the jobs of those they supervised. That's a very BIG plus IMHO.

Unfortunately this is a bad survey. There are absolutely other options to consider and mitigating factors that aren't. First and foremost of my objections is the premise about the option "Or split it 50/50". Split what? Living expenses? Child care? House keeping? Parenting? WTF is being split 50/50?

I'd like to know what Verizon has to say about firing him for an allegation which proved false. While possible Verizon fired him for other reasons, the article makes it appear Verizon fired him because of the complaint. Given Verizon had the video evidence, I have to wonder why they didn't defend their employee and by extension themselves. As for the sentence, pussy pass IMHO.

I am all for disparaging and changing men getting more punishment for the same crimes. Absolutely! At the same time I am aware there is hypocrisy I am also aware that Judges do look at the evidence before them in making their decisions. This is exactly their charge, the one which allows me to get angry when men are treated unfairly. Given that a man wasn't accused by a woman in the same way I do not know, nor can you or anyone else, that he would have been treated differently and not released. M…

What if, what if, what if. Spend less time wondering about what if this happened and more time learning about what did happen and then, when warranted, shame and slam dunk it with evidence and reason. Being spiteful, hateful, disparaging because of someone's gender is stupid, a waste of time, and more likely to make you look, be?, more like them. Is that what your goal is?

I read more than one report of her being released to her mother. One of the things in those reports is that the tip to the FBI came from her ex and he was the one who claimed she said she was going to sell it to the Russians. Apparently the FBI no longer believe that was a completely valid tip. Yes, it helped identify her. Not much more. It is a valid accusation that she was part of the attempted insurrection. However, she may not have, indeed probably didn't, actually steal the laptop. She did …

If removing all Depp movies were about licensing I could accept that. However, my strong suspicion is that it isn't about licensing since none of Depp's movies are available on Netflix. Unless, of course, Disney owns the rights to all of Depp's movies. Does it?

Reified conceptualization at work. Give something abstract a definition and that, in turn, gives it a reality it may or may not deserve. A reality that others will use positively and negatively, though, often as not, poorly in both cases. In the case of positively the harm of poor usage is usually less important. In the case of negatively however, the harm of poor usage can be devastating. Just my immediate reaction after reading the article. FWIW "The Patriarchy" is a reified concept.

As with many things there is more than meets the eye. While there are many in Congress, my own Congressman and Senator Mitch McConnell for example, with whom I strongly disagree, they get re-elected more for what they do for the communities they represent than ephemeral popularity. Only twice in my life have I struck a female in anger. Both times the female struck me first. In 7th grade, 13, I was standing with a group of other kids waiting to go to school. We were talking. One truth about beliefs is that it takes time for someone to digest facts and and think before they might change their beliefs. Long and short, changing someone's mindset takes time and will only happen when they do not feel threatened or judged. It helps not to be argumentative when someone confronted by uncomfortable truths argues. Let them speak. State your knowledge, you interpretation of the facts that you know, and do not under any circumstance give into the urge to feel or act superior. Y…

Taking bets on whether or not the man wouldn't be named if he lost the case or the roles were reversed? There is a deep and troubling double-standard when it comes to sexual harassment and rape. At least in the U.S. it is the norm for a 'presumed innocent until proven guilty' man accused of a sexual crime to be named and shamed. Furthermore, when a man is found guilty of a sexual crime he will spend more time in jail than a like guilty woman who raped a male OR female minor.

Why even care? The greatest pain you can afflict on bad decisions by a company is to ignore it; not buy their product. Comments are only a breeze in the climate of public opinion. Only the most astute within the company will be able to discern the breeze portends a coming storm and might misunderstand entirely. A boycott on the other hand easily gets their attention.

Do you mean to suggest we should NOT watch her documentaries or that we should? Saying "Few of her documentaries are highly commendable" implies one should not bother to watch any. On the other hand, saying "A few of her documentaries are highly commendable" implies some are and it is worth finding them. We don't disagree, for the most part, about the man-hating landscape before us. We just disagree on how it should be painted, illustrated for those who are more vested in harmony than dominance. Those who vomit man-hate won't be changed, and we should know by now that they are not even moderately interested in facts or honest, open discussion. However, euphemistically, there are still many others who we might actually entice to visit and take in our point of view, our scenery as it were.

Here we have the ancient Roman conversational method often call Maximi Stupidicae. Don't actually attempt to converse about or even refute specific points. Being a "feminist" no longer means longing for equality. According to your definition. Not mine. Women who truly desire equality between the sexes almost never identify themselves as "feminists" any longer because it's become a movement of man hating bullshit that fuels victim complexes. A very broad statement I have reason to believe is untrue. I know quite a few women who do not hate, promote, or tolerate man-hating because they know it is bullshit. Even what you say here about modern Western society, in response to what jck0 posted, is broadly wrong in its narrowness. I am a left-winger, as it were. And I think the 78 cent statement is a lie. Not every one who leans to the left believes only the right can lie. Slowly my wonderful in the best way feminist wife has started to understand that a lie is a lie no matter who says it. She has also started to see why I despise modern depictions of men as brainless clutzes who are just another child to their wives.

What a leading title! Kudos! Smart-ass answer: No. Boys aren't yet men. Smart answer: Yes. IMHO the only criteria for MRA is the simple belief that men have rights too which, like all human rights, need to be maintained.

Before everyone explodes consider that the woman who posted this just had a break up and sounds at least a bit hurt. Any one of us might find ourselves in similar situations. Furthermore, in our current society it is common for people to post their thoughts in more public settings giving them a greater appearance of popularity. I recommend against getting all butt-hurt by one person's aggrieved opinion.

Back in the early 80's I rejected, though not rudely, a homosexual friend who came out to me. Since then, I have always regretted doing so and have wished ma…

Whatever your argument, if you think it is going to be contrary to what the teacher believes make sure that you site valid studies and draw conclusions based on that evidence. That way you avoid the pitfall of opining on a potentially controversial topic and force the teacher to defend whatever position they might have in opposition to your points. If the teacher objects to your points ask for contravening evidence not conjecture or opinion. You are on your own regards grammar and sentence struc…

Actually, the older people are probably more on your side and not likely to be bitter or cynical. As for your dilemma, I believe you are old enough that any judge would pay attention to your feelings and thoughts in this matter. Even though you are still a minor, the law recognizes that you are more and more able to think for and represent yourself; which in turn means the law pays closer attention to you. You can contact a social worker, potentially a counselor in your school, an adult friend, …
